Children are used to fast information through technology and integrate it into their social and leisure activities. As teachers, we need to consider how to incorporate technology into our lessons to engage students in learning content, as literacy is now multi-modal and children reach knowledge through various visual and oral means. Teachers must prepare for this change and be able to use technology themselves to connect with how children currently learn both in and out of school.

3. SO, WHAT SHOULD WE CONSIDER AS TEACHERS WHEN PLANNING OUR CLASSES? Children are interested in fast and instant information. They integrate their social life, their leisure time and their games with technology. Does their education include technology integrating the contents they are expected to cover? Literacy is now considered not only written or spoken, but also multi-modal or multi-mediated. Children nowadays are bombarded by all means of communication, either visual or oral, and they reach knowledge mediated by them. Are we, teachers, prepared for the change?
