An entrepreneur and educator, Jean-Jacques Degroof has taught entrepreneurship at universities throughout Europe, and mentored young technology entrepreneurs. Jean-Jacques Degroof holds a PhD in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management, and remains involved in the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.

2. Introduction
An entrepreneur and educator, Jean-Jacques Degroof has taught
entrepreneurship at universities throughout Europe, and mentored
young technology entrepreneurs. Jean-Jacques Degroof holds a PhD in
management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
Sloan School of Management, and remains involved in the Martin Trust
Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.
The Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship provides initiatives
designed to foment entrepreneurship among MIT students. One such
program is delta v, a venture accelerator bringing together the best
entrepreneurship teams, chosen for the strength of their ideas, from
MIT’s various schools. The groups spend three months honing their
ideas at MIT’s main campus or its NYC Startup Studio.

3. MIT Entrepreneurship
During this time, students conduct market research, define their target
market and run trials to test their hyphotheses. With a focus on peer
learning, the program gives teams the opportunity to receive feedback
from other students through weekly cohort meetings. Students also
benefit from one-on-one coaching by industry mentors who are
carefully selected to meet the needs of the teams’ projects.
Students present their ventures at Demo Day in September at the MIT
campus, as well as at similar events in New York and San Francisco. At
Demo Days, teams pitch their ideas to investors and media in order to
make their vision a reality.
