Dr. Jean-Jacques Degroof is an educational counselor with MIT and was formerly an affiliate researcher with MIT. He has also conducted research at Harvard University's JFK School of Government. The Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business & Government at Harvard maintains an Education Policy Program focused on supporting first-generation students, developing public school initiatives, and helping universities improve student experiences through collaboration.

2.  With expertise in innovation and
entrepreneurship, Dr. Jean-Jacques Degroof
serves as an educational counselor with the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
Educational Counsel, and, until 2010 as an
affiliate researcher with the MIT Industrial
Performance Center. Dr. Jean-Jacques
Degroof has also conducted research at
Harvard University’s J.F. Kennedy School of
Government as a fellow with the Center for
Business and Government, now called the
Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business &
Government (M-RCBG).

3.  Among its many programs, M-RCBG maintains the
Education Policy Program to advance education
performance and innovation in the U.S., while also
capitalizing on the strongest ideas and principles
from government and business sectors. The program
has focused its efforts on three main initiatives: the
First Generation Forum, the Young Faculty Leaders'
Forum, and the Forum for Excellence in Higher
Education.
Through the First Generation Forum, the M-RCBG
Education Policy Program works with extremely
selective universities to develop sustainable strategies
for supporting success among first-generation
students.

4.  The intense collaboration between forum members
allows universities to compare their findings and learn
from one another.
To help students thrive in a global market, the Young
Faculty Leaders’ Forum develops initiatives that strive
to comprehensively increase student achievement in
American public schools. Meanwhile, the now-
completed Forum for Excellence in Higher Education
was designed to help universities and colleges
become “learning organizations” by improving the
student experience and fostering interaction with
governments and businesses.
