Character formatting in Word has to do with applying formatting properties to
enhance the appearance of individual text characters. Character formats can be
applied to a single character, word, sentence or a line of text, without such
formatting affecting the entire current paragraph
5. TEXT WRAPPING
Predefined text wrapping allows you to move the image to a specific location
on the page. Select the image you want to move. The three main types: Square,
Tight, and Through
6. In line text wrapping In Line with Text: The picture is a part
of the paragraph; the text doesn’t wrap
around it.
8. Tight:
Tight: If the picture is clip art that doesn’t have a colored
background, the text wraps around the edges of the image itself,
not of its rectangular frame. Otherwise, it’s the same as Square.
9. Behind Text: Behind Text: The text appears as an overlay on top of
the picture
10. In Front of Text In Front of Text: The image appears over the top
of the text, partially obscuring it.
11. Top and Bottom:Top and Bottom: The picture interrupts the
text, which flows above or below it. The picture
is on a line all by itself.
13. INSERTING OBJECTS In addition to graphic images, to add a personal touch to a
special message or to illustrate a special feature, you may want to embed sound files or
maybe even actual files from other software applications in your document. For example,
you can insert a
PDF file or a
spread sheet
within the word
processor.
