stimulating task. The difficulty arises from the need to delve deep into the complexities of a
character's flaws and their ultimate consequences, as portrayed in literature or any other form of
storytelling. To craft a compelling essay, one must possess a keen understanding of the chosen
character, their motivations, and the intricate web of events leading to their tragic downfall.
Analyzing and interpreting the tragic flaw itself demands a nuanced approach. It necessitates a

Design And Creation Of Buildings
Architecture is considered to be the design and creation of buildings that reflects their
culture, religion, environment and technology used in its time period. The
mastermind behind any type of architecture is the architect itself. Two well known
and respected architects in modern history are Frank Lloyd Wright and Ludwig Mies
van der Rohe. Both known for their amazing architectural thoughts, and the
inspirations that affected many other architects. Both, Wright and Rohe, created new
schools of design for their abilities which brought about techniques that are still used
today. These architects were both involved in exploring the relationships of spatial
distribution, form and function, materials used, reflecting their current time through
their design, and creating buildings and houses that were both artistically beautiful as
well as beneficial. Both of these architects have many common attributes to each
other s designs as well as ideas, but also the many differences that set apart these
architects as few of the many renowned architects in modern history.
Frank Lloyd Wright is an American architect who designed many houses and inspired
the work of hundreds of scholars.4 Wright believed in designing structures that were
in synchronization with humanity and its environment; a philosophy he called
organic architecture .1 He read a broad array of architecture books and thought that
architecture had been pushed too much into modernization.4 He believed in the true

Masculine Bravado in Death of a Salesman and A Streetcar...
What is it to be a man? Masculinity is defined and characterized differently across
cultures and time there is no global standard. In some cultures, being a man may
mean being comfortable with both your masculine and feminine sides or it could
suggest being tough and not letting your feelings show at all. Manliness can be
demonstrated in some cultures by providing for a family through work, and in others,
it might mean scoring the winning goal in a championship game. It is not an easy
thing to define an entire genderbased on the arbitrary set of ever changing social and
cultural norms, but somehow it still happens. Trying to define one s own masculinity
and live up to its standards is a tough and grueling task that many men... Show more

Nevertheless, with both in the sales industry, it s easy for them to turn on that
charismatic charm and sell not only their ideals, but themselves in the form of their
winning personalities (Cardullo 29). Stanley Kowalski is the typical hyper masculine
example of a man in the late 1940 s to early 1950 s. He is described by his sister in
law as an ape (Williams 121), he is abusive towards his wife, and he is the
breadwinner of the family he literally brings home the meat and throws it at his
wife to catch and cook. Masculinity itself is not a character flaw, but when
expressed with such ferocity it can become a crutch and unflattering. Stanley
displays his manliness in several different ways throughout the play, something that
the author Tennessee Williams did on purpose to reflect on the societal norms of
the time and to do so in a questioning manner. The manliness that Stanley has is not
one that is kept tamed and unleashed in appropriate moments, but is a type that is
constantly wanting people to know that he is the king (Williams 138) of his home
and family. By asserting his dominance, Stanley is showing how masculinity can
be a force that drives one to do absurd things in order to keep up a façade. Willy
Loman s disposition is not as boisterous as Streetcar s anti hero, Stanley, but is
instead more internal and self reflective. His views of masculinity arise from the
The Importance Of Music In The Socialization Of
Children...
Music plays and important role in the socialization of children and adolescents.
Music is ubiquitous and easily available, whether through the radio, social media or
other media outlets. It provides entertainment, and is often utilized as a distraction to
relieve stress or boredom. However, as lyrics become more vulgar and explicit, the
effect that certain genres of music, such as rap, hip hop and heavy metal, have on
youth, has become of paramount concern. Research has been conducted on whether a
child s or teenager s preference in those types of music could be correlated with
negative behaviors. Delinquent behaviors of youth who listen to those genres of
music are often attributed to the music itself, rather than how the child current mental
or emotional state. Parents, unfortunately, are often unaware of their child s musical
habits. Therefore, when a child exhibits any type of negative behavior, the parent
frequently tries to conjure a reason for this misbehavior; More often than not, when
there is not a reasonable cause to the delinquency, many parents blame the particular
genre of music that their child listens to. This attributes to the negative connotation
that is often associated with heavy metal, rap and hip hop music. All genres of music
are a form of expression meant to entertain certain audiences: not to be negatively
thought of, because of how certain people react to it. In order to reduce the negative
connotation associated with heavy metal, rap and hip hop
Richard Jones And The Knights Of Labor
After losing her family to yellow fever epidemic, Jones returned back to Chicago
to her dressmaking business. But within next 4 years, she lost all her hard earned
money, possessions and house to the Great Chicago Fire in 1871. After practically
losing everything, she devoted her life to bigger causes. She supported the labor
movement and became a part of the Knights of Labor and gave inspiring speeches
to the striking workers. From 1873 1877, Jones actively supported laborers in
achieving their demands. She used to travel to various strike sites and instill more
passion into their strikes. She helped the coal miners strike in Pennsylvania and
railroad workers. After the Haymarket Riot of 1886, Knights of Labor started to

Marvels of Today s World.
In the past places and buildings were considered to be the 7 Wonders of the World,
each one is so different but all had one thing in common how unbelievable and
amazing they were. In today s world as well as geographical marvels there are grand
engineering projects that have opened up new possibilities and changed millions of
people s lives for the better. Technology, medical treatments, The Channel Tunnel
and Robotics are but a few of many that I would consider to be the marvels of today
s world. These wonders make our lives easier, more efficient and convenient. We can

computers, space rockets etc. London is a city that ... Show more content on

Hopefully they won t completely overtake the role of mankind!
Another marvel of the world is medical technology in my opinion. We now have
the technology to provide people that have missing limbs with fake ones so that
they can continue on living their lives and enjoy it. This is just incredible. Many
infectious diseases such as Chicken Pox, Malaria, Measles and Tuberculosis have
been conquered through vaccines, antibiotics, and improved living conditions.
Cancer has become a more common illness, but treatments have been developed
that effectively combat some forms of the disease .We also have the technology to
control abnormal heart rhythms with the use of a pacemaker. I think pacemakers
are absolutely fantastic, such a clever idea. Pacemakers have prolonged people
with heart conditions life span and made life easier for them to live. The way a
little camera can be inserted into the body to look at problems/diseases,
completely puts me in awe. Also heart and lung transplants are one of the marvels
of today s world. This again saves people s lives. The way that a team of doctors
and nurses are able to take out a patient s heart or lung and put in a new one so that
they can live is truly a marvel. Medical technology is just phenomenal and
unbelievable. Through technology, millions of lives have been saved and improved
dramatically. This is why I d consider it to be one of the marvels of today s world.

Ownership (TCO) elements that are measured for your organization. Identify two to
three administrative and two to three clinical elements that are particular to your
organization. Provide a brief description of why these elements have been identified
as critical to TCO. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is framework for understand the
hidden costs and benefits of technology that may not necessary be apparent in the
initial expense procuring certain technical solutions (Hockel Hamilton, 2011). An
example may be upgrade costs associated with acquiring a new computer. The initial
pricing for the computer may be apparent, but the future costs that will be incurred to
improve the unit or make more robust and proficient must also be considered.
Administrative elements within our organization include training, support and
maintenance. Training is critical in consideration of TCO because if not accounted
for correctly and provided, end users are more likely to resist changes to new
systems, platforms and, slowing adoption of a new solution and adversely impacting
productivity (Hockel Hamilton, 2011). General support is a critical part of TCO
because unexpected needs may arise that can jeopardize performance of solutions.
For instance, system downtime can negatively impact the bottom line of the business.

Since its first application in the film Becky Sharp, colors have rapidly captured the
attention and welcome by audiences in all around the world (Semsel, 1987). Ever
since then, colors have played its role as a basic element of film artistic. By
making full use of various colors, the film will leave a deep impression on the
visual feelings of audiences and bring a good sense of aesthetic effect. Apart from
this, a proficient usage of colors can convey what the directors want to express in
the most effective and efficient way that can be fully recognized and accepted by

Operational Definition of Variables
Risk of Falls. The risk for falls is defined as the possibility for falling. There are
charts with norms for the results of the SLS and the TUG tests. If an individual is
out of the range for his or her age group, then he or she is at a greater risk for falls.
For example, the average time for the SLS is 30 seconds for people aged 20 29. For
the TUG test, a time over 14 seconds indicates a risk for falls. There are more

College Pressures Affect Our Lives
College Pressures College pressures dominate our lives. They begin to levitate
around us and slowly derail our lives. William Zinsser elaborates about the college
pressures that modern generations are facing. He reveals multiple commonalities
that the typical college student encounters on a daily basis. Zinsser states, They
want a map right now that they can follow unswervingly to career security,
financial security, social security, and presumably, a prepaid grave (12). He is spot
on, the pressures demand my attention and won t take no for an answer. So far I ve
gone head to head with these pressures every day since I started my freshman year
in college. For the time that I ve been here, my mind is overwhelmed and
distraught with the amount of stress that gets piled on top of me every single day. I
drown in these unrealistic expectations written in those faulty suggestion bars about
how to be successful in college and college 101 tips. College pressures surround me
like a dull gray cloud. It showers me with expectations and unfinished checklists.
College itself is similar to carpooling to hell and back, but with no actual guarantee
with a ride back.
I can speak for myself when I say self induced pressure is a real thing. The pressure
circulates around me and I can never seem to escape. I feel an expectancy to always
be doing something productive and valuable with my time. I feel the pressure to get
involved, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, complete all my assignments, and
Tequila Crisis Research Paper
The cause of Tequila Crises was a catalogue of several issues that build up to a
crescendo level and generated into an explosive situation, that resulted in the
collapse of the financial institutions and subsequently led to civil disobedience.
There were in my opinion two causes; the remote and the immediate cause. In the
remote cause; the government embarked on reforms and deregulation of the
economy in the 1980s on a scale that was seen as too quick and too fast and sudden.
Among some of the reforms, the then President Miguel de la Madrid(1982 1988)
took a bold decision to liberalize Trade and International Capital flow which he had
thought would bolster trade relationship between Mexicoand the developed countries..
Furtherance to that, the government moved to reduce import tariffs on items
imported from Uruguay, a neighbor country to cement trade relationship between
Mexico and Uruguay under the auspices of General Agreement on Tariff and Trade
(GATT)...Then came the predecessor of President Miguel; President Carlos Selinas
de Gotari (1988 1994) went further to sign foreign trade agreement with United States
called North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and later liberalized the
financial system, privatizing the largest commercial banks and deregulating the
banking system.; Obstfeld and Taylor (2004).... Show more content on

Analysis Of The Book Rush Men
Most everyone knows what Greg Hardy brings to the table. He was pro bowler in
2013. Hardy s stacked up an average of 13 sacks and 40 solo tackles in his last two
full seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He s extremely explosive off the edge and
has elite hands that make it almost impossible to block him for an entire game.
Hardy will be a huge upgrade for the Cowboys. With one position improved in the
rush men rotation, who else can the Cowboys count on to contribute not only
during Hardy s four game suspension but also for the entire season. For starters,
nobody should sleep on Jeremy Mincey. He doesn t get talked about much but he
was kind of the unsung hero of the Dallas pass rush last season leading the team in
sacks with 6, and QB pressures with 39. He was also named team captain after
Justin Durant went on IR. This is a contract year for him and at the age of 31 he
won t see many more. With more help along the defensive line he should get some
more favorable match ups and have another nice season. Tyrone Crawford didn t
see snap his entire rookie season but last season was his coming out party. The
2013 third round pick wrecks absolute havoc up the middle. There were several
times last season when Jeremy Mincey and Henry Melton got the credit for the
sack but it was Crawford who pushed the line taking on two or three blockers at once
giving them a free run at the QB. Crawford had a good season last year ranking in
the top 15 of all DT s (according to
Introduction to Economic System
What is system?
System (from Latin systema, in turn from Greek systД“ma) is a set of interacting or
interdependent entities, real or abstract, forming an integrated whole.
A group of interdependent items that interact regularly to perform a task.
Economic System
An economic system is a system that involves the production, distribution and
consumption of goods and services between the entities in a particular society. The
economic system is composed of people and institutions, including their relationships
to productive resources, such as through the convention of property. In a given
economy, it is the systemic means by which problems of economics are addressed,

A central directorate controls the production of goods and services. The directorate
decides the nature, quantity, and mood of production of goods. This distribution of
goods is also directed by the central body.
Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating
state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and
distribution of goods, and the creation of an egalitarian society.
Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth century working class political
movement. Karl Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle
and a proletarian revolution which represents the transitional stage between capitalism
and communism.
Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and
wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital and creates an unequal
society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth
and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement
among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved
Some features of socialism are written below 1. Socialism is not a discrete
philosophy of fixed doctrine and program 2. Its branches advocate a degree of social
interventionism and economic rationalization, sometimes opposing each other. 3.

INTRODUCTION
EDMUND SPENCER
Edmund Spenser was an English writer best known for The Faerie Queene, an epic
ballad and fantastical moral story commending the Tudor tradition and Elizabeth I.
He is perceived as one of the head experts of Modern English verse in its earliest
stages, and one of the best artists in the English dialect.
Edmund Spenser was conceived in East Smithfield, London around the year 1552
however there is some vagueness as to the careful date of his introduction to the
world. As a young person, he was taught in London at the Merchant Taylors School
and registered as a sizar at Pembroke College, Cambridge. While at Cambridge he
turned into a companion of Gabriel Harvey, and later counseled him, in spite of their
varying perspectives on verse.
In July 1580 Spenser went to Ireland, in the administration of the recently selected
Lord Deputy, Arthur Gray, fourteenth Baron Gray de Wilton. At that point he
presented with the English strengths amid the Second Desmond Rebellion. After the
annihilation of the local Irish he took arrives in County Cork that had been
reallocated in the Munster Plantation amid the Elizabethan victory of Ireland. Among
his acquaintances in the region was Walter Raleigh, a kindred pioneer.
Through his verse Spenser would have liked to secure a spot at court, which he went
by in Raleigh s organization to convey his most popular work, The Faerie Queene. On
the other hand, he strikingly alienated the monarch s central secretary,

were informed on the damages that follow corporal punishment, this means of
guidance and instruction could possibly decrease ensuring a higher quality of life for
children in the future. With this in mind, a child who withstands physical punishment
has a likelihood of growing up to be emotionally unstable. Undergoing this type of
treatment reaches the child to the core and begins to deteriorate their ability to
function as an independent member of society. Physical punishment that is
considered child abuse can lead to low self esteem, brain damage, attention disorders
and substance abuse, states the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
(Case, 2014, para.5). Whether the inflictions are severe enough to cross the line of
abuse or not, any form of this misconduct must be eliminated to spare the child of
obstacles they will face in the future due to the emotional deficiency. Cognitively
speaking, children who experience physical punishment have a reduced ability to

Black, Black And Black
As one compares Marvel and DC characters, it can be seen that many of the
characters are almost identical. For example, Black Widow and Black Canary are
two female superheroes from Marvel and DC graphic novels respectively. These two
female crime fighters play key roles on their teams, have great skills, and are
exceedingly agile. However, which character is the better superheroine? Marvel s
Black Widow is far superior to Black Canaryin her more consistent background and
history, more widespread experience, and more numerous skills. Admittedly, it is
true that Black Canary far exceeds Widow in terms of her role as a part of a team.
Black Widow played a key role as one of the Avengers, but she then took up the
mantle of leadership from Captain America because he left active Avengers duty
following internal ethical disputes regarding the Kree Shi ar War (Fichera). In
contrast, Black Canary has experience leading the Justice League, the Birds of Prey,
and the Outsiders to name a few. Black Canary has been an important figure in all of
her teams, even when she was not a leader. Over her crime fighting career, Black
Canary has fought alongside Batman, Supergirl, Green Arrow, and Aquaman, to
name a few. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In regards to their backgrounds,
Black Widow has a more stable history that becomes more elaborate with her every

Little Red Riding Hood By Charles Perrault
In the version of Little Red Riding Hood , Charles Perrault makes the story into a
life lesson for young female children. Charles Perrault twisted the ending of the
story by instead of Little Red tricking and getting away from the big bad wolf; she
was eaten by the wolf and so was her grandmother. Not so happy ending, but it has a
point to it. Little Red Riding Hoodin this version is the representation of all young
females that are or have been targeted or victimized by any adult. Here in the text it
explains how and why Charles Perrault chose Little Red Riding Hood to make his
point. Charles Perrault s version of Little Red Riding Hood was told in a way that
reveals more than just a children s story tail. There is a social group that is portrayed

Charles Perrault has a side note at the end of his writing of the moral of the story,
in it he states, Children, especially attractive, well bred young ladies, should never
talk to strangers, for if they should do so, they may well provide dinner for a wolf.
He said calls predators wolf because no one knows what they are going to do, who
they are going to get, how sneaky they are, and the urgency of having to feel that
dominate side. That is why children, especially little girls, are always the target to
these predators.
Overall, Charles Perrault reconstructed the story of Little Red Riding Hood so that
Little Red has a purpose. Little Red Riding Hood in the story is the symbol for all
the young female children society group. She was initially picked because of her
actions throughout the story that are so commonly found in our society today. Older

The Wave Of Streaming Media
Tidal: The New Wave in Streaming Media
As technological advances continue, FM/AM radio becomes more and more
obsolete. While it s true the for the time being, terrestrial radio isn t in any clear
danger of being replaced, the growing popularity of streaming sites may send radio
along the way of the 8 track. One of the newest and most popular streaming platforms
is Tidal. Sporting unprecedented artist ownership and blockbuster exclusive material,
Tidal surged into the fray in 2015 with genuine lossless quality; its 1.4Mbps is more
CD quality than mp3.
When Jay Z bought Tidal s parent company Aspiro in 2015, the music industrywas
turned on its ear. Owned by artists such as the aforementioned Jay Z, Beyonce,
Madonna and a plethora of others, Tidal offers high fidelity, lossless music quality
and exclusive content for its subscribers. Being owned by the artists themselves,
Tidal claims to pay the highest percentage of royalties to musical artists and
songwriters in the music streaming market. Tidal also has distribution deals with
many record labels, including the big three: Universal Music Group, Sony Music
Entertainment and Warner Music Group. The Tidal library consists of 30 million
tracks, mirroring the library sizes of Apple and Spotify, although it is understood that
certain tracks can only be found on Tidal. To mark the new launch, many musical
artists took to social media, changing their profile pictures blue and using hashtags
like #TIDALForAll on Facebook,
Woody Allen s Irrational Man
Irrational Man is a 2015 American mystery drama film which has been written and
directed by Woody Allen. The film stars well known actors; Joaquin Phoenix,
Emma Stone, Parker Posey and Jamie Blackley. The film was released on July 17,
2015 by Sony Pictures Classics in a limited release, later expanding wider. The film
was Jack Rollins final production before his death in June 2015, having produced
Allen s films since the 1970s. Irrational Man, (Woody Allen s 327th film), tells the
story of a philosophy professor named Abe who after finding himself in the small
town fictional New England college campus of Braylin falls into an existential crisis.

well. This is seen in several occasions such as the Russian roulette scene where she
(an intelligent student) has really no clue as to the fact that something is seriously
wrong with both Abe and their relationship. She seems to be only there to serve as
something different and new in Abe s otherwise depressing life. Unfortunately
while this would be a perfectly fine character persona for an extra in the film, it just
didn t work in with being tied to one of the main characters. This is disappointing
when all of a sudden like a Nancy drew novel she pieces together the fact that Abe
is behind the murder because up until that point she has just been an attractive
academically intelligent extra in Abe s life. Jill very quickly goes from a small

Girl, Interrupted By Susanna Kaysen
Psychoanalysts understand human personality through behaviors by looking into
experiences, including the origin of emotions, thoughts and behaviors. Through the
analysis of the movie Girl, Interrupted, the main character Susanna acts in all sorts
of manners, ranging from being unreasonable, frightened, happy, sad, or disturbed
due to the varieties of her behaviors. In accordance with DSM V, the movie Girl,
Interrupted explores the memoir of a young woman through her struggles with
mental health during her stay in a Claymoore psychiatric institution during the
1960 s. Maybe I really was crazy. Maybe it was the 60 s. Or maybe I was just a

is about an eighteen year old girl graduating high school. She lives her life not
exactly to how society see how a young woman should, by engaging in causal sex
often.. She falls asleep at her graduating and clearly showed little interest in anything
society wants her to do, such as going to college underdressing for her hypocritical
parents party, and sleeping with her mother s friend s husband.

Dracula Research Paper
Throughout the world, humans in various cultures have shared well known myths
and legends that are passed down from generations. These oral folklores are often
quite entertaining, but they also recount a history of origin or culture. For example,
some of these story like legends can be linked to actual mysterious events that have
taken place in a specific time period or a certain place and therefore can be quite
realistic. Dracula, a well known real life legend , is preferably one of the more dark

Dracula may be blood curdling but he is not that frightening, to say the least. Just as
Jonathan Harker (a lawyer) entered the barren castle in the outskirts of
Transylvania, a strange but unique looking man answered the door, and here are
Harker s thoughts: Within stood a tall old man, clean shaven save for a long white
moustache, and clad in black from head to foot, without a single speck of colour
about him anywhere (Stoker 20). As one can see, Stoker really is trying to emphasize
his notion of vampire qualities. Once again, Jonathan recollects his thoughts saying:
His face was a strong a very strong aquiline, with high bridge of the thin nose and
peculiarly arched nostrils; with lofty domed forehead, and hair growing scantily
round the temple but profusely elsewhere. His eyebrows were very massive,
almost meeting over the nose, and with bushy hair that seemed to curl in its own
profusion. The mouth, so far as I could see under the heavy moustache, was fixed
and rather cruel looking, with peculiarly sharp white teeth; these protruded over the
lips, whose remarkable ruddiness showed astonishing vitality in a man of his years.
For the rest, his ears were pale and at the tops were extremely pointed; the chin was
broad and strong, and the cheeks firm though thin. The general effect was one of
extraordinary pallor. (22 23)
After reading this, going back to what one would visualize when someone says the

Autism Relates to Exposure to Ionizing and Non-ionizing...
Pregnant women have a higher risk to exposure of ionizing radiation and non ionizing
radiation because of the many procedures that they have to go through for their
medical procedures (Williams, 2010). Some of the nonionizing exposures could
include radio frequencies, microwaves and especially ultrasounds in women when
going for their monthly checkups. When looking at ionizing radiation, in utero
exposure could be carcinogenic, mutagenic, or teratogenic (Williams, 2010).
Carcinogenic is radiation that directly causes cancer. Mutagenic involves when X
rays are capable of creating a mutation. Teratogenic can interrupt with normal
embryonic development and produce risks with the developing fetus. These effects
depend on the exposure level of the radiation and the stage of the fetal development
(Williams, 2010). Regardless of the dose of radiation, the long term risk of their
offspring having autism is still increased. The amount of radiation that the mother
and the child should be exposed to should be monitored and kept at a low dose
through the entire pregnancy. Ultrasounds have been a big issue in how it can cause
a child to have Autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Risks of Ionizing radiation during
pregnancy depends on the amount of prenatal exposure and the stage of development
the embryois at. During organogenesis, two to seven weeks of fertilization, is when
the embryo has a higher risk to major effects of radiation (Williams, 2010).

What Does Australia Have To Offer
I chose Australia because I have always wanted to go and see the beautiful cities
and there beaches. But, what I couldn t see it that they have so much more to offer
than just the pretty picture of the Sydney Opera house or the Great Barrier Reef. In
my research I will unfold in my paper I will reveal all of the amazing things that
Australia has to offer. From land to sea this great land mass is insanely different from
the United States. Australia is a continent of mystery and contradiction. It is full of
tropical rain forest and endless deserts. It has the most beautiful beaches and the most
ancient mountains. Australia has at least one thing in common from the U.S. and that
is that it has many floods when it rains and also has droughts.

Millerite Movement in the Second Great Awakening of...
The Millerite Movement happened in the context of this nation s Second Great
Awakening: a religious revival that carried the country into reform movements. The
Second Great Awakening had its start in Connecticut in the 1790s and grew to its
height in the 1830s to 1840s.[1] During this time in the United States history,
churches experienced a more complete freedom from governmental control which
opened the doors of opportunity to a great spiritual awakening in the American
people.[2] This awakening focused on areas of both religious and social issues of
that era which were important to the religious movements and the nation as a whole.
The Second Great Awakening was driven by these issues which included an increase

The Millerite Movement is best known for its prediction of Christ s coming to be
1843 and later revised to October 22, 1844. The very core of this movement was the
anticipation for the soon coming of Christ. They were not the only group to look
forward to this event but it became of paramount interest to the Millerites, as they
had a set date for Christ s second return.[8] As the Second Great Awakening grew
more mindful of Christ s second coming, so did the Millerite Movement. The story of
William Miller is one which climaxes in his desire to share about Christ s immediate
return and the Great Disappointment. The result is the Adventist church we have
today. The Seventh day Adventist Churchtoday still reflects the roots it had in the
Second Great Awakening. The founding principles that the Millerites discovered as
they broke away from the mainstream Christianity of their time, are still a part of
what we believe today. The Adventist faith holds that anyone who comes to Christ
is a new creation and can find salvation.[9] There is no predestination and once
saved does not assure that we are always saved. But no matter what, anyone can
come to God for His gift of salvation.[10] Just like the second coming of Christ was
an important part of the Second Great Awakening and a key foundation of the
Millerite Movement, Adventists have in their name the hope of His
Symptoms And Possible Treatment Options For Apert
Syndrome
According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH, 2013), Apert syndrome is a
genetic disease that results in the premature fusion of the sutures between the bones
of the skull (craniosynostosis), which causes an abnormally shaped head and face.
Apert syndrome accounts for approximately 4.5% of all craniosynostosissyndromes,
with an estimated birth prevalence of 1:64,500 (Giancotti et al., 2014, p. 1445).
Because children with Apert syndrome exhibit a variety of craniofacial and central
nervous system anomalies, many of them are likely to demonstrate severe speech and
languagedifficulties. As a future speech language pathologist, it is important to be
aware of some of the major factors contributing to these children s speech and
language problems in order to better serve them and their families. Thus, in this
paper, I will closely examine the causes, signs and symptoms, and possible treatment
options for Apert syndrome, as well as explore some of the speech, language,
hearing, and other related problems often associated with it.
Causes
Apert syndrome is caused by a genetic mutation that occurs early on in pregnancy.
Recently, researchers at Oxford University identified the specific genetic change that
results in the characteristic features of Apert syndrome. They report that slight,
specific changes in the genetic makeup of chromosome number 10, known as
Fibroblast Growth Receptor Factor 2 (FGFR2), causes the rare syndrome. All

How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of A Snowstorm
This painting is about a lower class family that is going through a snowstorm in the
middle of the winter to survive instead of just staying inside the warm house. This
painting is called the snowstorm and was painted by Francisco Goya to illustrate a
lighter but still hard time in life. This painting is about a family out in a snowstorm
and illustrates a lot about the character of the family with the hardships that they went
through, along with the desperation and willpower to survive.
While the family is out in the middle of the snowstorm they have many hardships
to deal with. The family is all grouped together in the middle of the painting with
their jackets wrapped around them and their heads facing down to keep warm
with snow in every direction of them as if they don t want to travel. This shows
that the family is cold and, yet they have to face the hardship of the winter. The tree
next to the family is severely swayed to the right the branch in front of the family
was broken off from the tree and laying on the ground showing how hard it was to
face the cold and wind of the storm. A dog is in front of the family at attention on all
four feet with the dog s paw prints trailing the dog showing that the family is
moving in the direction away from the prints. There is a dead pig draped across and
the back of a mule and tied down to it, along with a man on the left side has a gun in
between his arms tucked into his body as if he is the one who hunts the food for the
family.

Guy Fawkes Research Paper
The tensions between the members of the Church of England and the Catholic
Church were amplified by the rulings in the late fifteen hundreds. With the ever
changing religious views of the monarchy, the people of England were pulled back
and forth with it. So a small group of faithful Catholics decided that extreme
measures needed to be taken to change the Monarch back in their favor. Guy Fawkes
was part of a small group that tried to blow up Parliament by planting gunpowder
under the House of Lords (Adams 11).
His story begins in 1570 when he was born to Edward and Edith Fawkes in the town
of York. The Fawkes family was a long supporter of the Church of England which all

taken and interrogated where he would not answer any questions and gave the alias
of John Johnson. Later when asked why he was in the possession of that multitude
of gunpowder he told them of his plan to blow them up. He was tortured to give up
the names of those who were also in the group. Soon after the torture he was put on
trial and executed by hanging them (Greenspan).
Guy Fawkes did not stop with his death. He has a legacy that lives on to the present

That s the cooking of the meat, and the soaking of the corn husks. These steps take
time and if you don t allow for them, they ll throw off your whole day.
Let s start with cooking the meat. The best way to do this is the night before
tamale day. You ll need two large pots. Cut the pork roast into 5 or 6 large chunks.
Place the chicken in one pot and the roast in the other and cover both with water.
This is also a fun place to throw in some garlic cloves, onion slices, or anything else
you think might serve the meat well. Bring to a boil. The chicken will be done in
about 2 hours, the roast will need at least 2 ВЅ hours.
While the meats are cooking (if you re doing this all in one day), start soaking the
Corn Husks. You need to soak them submerged in warm water for at least 2 hours to
make them soft and pliable.
When the meats are done, let them cool in their liquid. If you have enough
refrigerator space, you can place them and their pots in the fridge overnight. This will
not only cool the meat, but also solidify the fat on top, making it easier to remove.
Remove both meats from their stock, but save the stock! This is a key ingredient
later on.
Now take the skin from the chicken and debone it shredding the meat with your
fingers. Shred the pork in a similar fashion while discarding as much fat out of the
meat as possible. Combine both of the meats.
In a small pot on the stove, warm 1/2 C of Corn Oil 6 Tbsp Chili
Essay on Tsar Alexander III s Reign
Tsar Alexander III s Reign
The reign of Tsar Alexander II was one that demonstrated a great change in action,
attitude and policy to that of his father, Tsar Alexander II, The Tsar Liberator.
Historians have long labelled Tsar Alexander II as a Liberal, reforming ruler and
his son as a reactionary, oppressive heir to his legacy. Hingley argues that his
thirteen years of reign were spent ...systematically destroying all of his father s work.
The choice facing Tsar Alexander III when he ascended to the throne was a difficult
one. There were two routes that he could follow: to continue the tentative steps that
his father had made into reform or to back track into Conservatism in an attempt to ...

It is interesting, as Hingley comments, that the reign of Tsar Alexander III was ...in
keeping with the tendency for stern, uncomplicated Romanov Tsars to alternate with
those of gentler and more elusive temperament. This illustrates well the situation in
Russia at the accession of Tsar Alexander III, and the atmosphere throughout the
majority of his reign, that it was almost diametrically opposed to that of his father s
This was his reaction to the assassination of his father. Where the Nihilists had
attempted to bring a more democratic and liberal governing to Russia in the
assassination they had inadvertently brought into rule a Tsar whose approach from
the outset of his reign could have not have been more different. Not only this, but the
actions of the People s Will had hardened Tsar Alexander III s resolve that any
attempts at reform were dangerous and could only affect the stability of the
monarchy. He had seen the proof for himself, that the introduction of reform could
only entertain criticism and opposition to the Tsarist regime. Thus detrimentally
affecting the future of the autocratic government.
Hingley argues that It is an irony of history that the nihilist assassins of the Catherine
Quay should have given their lives to substitute the slaughtered Tsar Liberator for this
My Day At School
On Thursday the fourth week of school, I woke up earlier than usual. I set my
alarm to vibrate at 8:30 but I instead woke up at 8. Not caring how exhausted, I was
from staying up late the night before to complete an assignment, regretting
procrastinating, I decided to start my day early. Being prudent, I search the
weather to figure out what to wear. I prepared myself for the day, setting my
clothes on the bed and placed my shoes out. I took my towel and shower caddy
with all my shower essentials out and hopped in the shower moments later. When I
finished washing I put my clothes on and put a ponytail in my hair. My class start at
9:30 am and I was ready at 9:10 am. Staying at Rosa Alexander Hall I have to leave
before 9:20 because Madison is a 10 minute walk.
Walking downstairs, greeting the RA that was at the front desk, I walked out the front
door and into beautiful weather. The sky was sapphire blue and the sun was shining
so bright it might blind your eyes if you look directly at it. This is the first good
weather we had since the rain we have been having for these few days. Walking to
class, just pass the library, I see one of my friends and we decide to walk with each
other because our class is in the same building. Reaching the building my friend and
us go our separate ways, her staying on the first floor and me heading upstairs.
My first class is English 101 with Professor Camp. We went over the vocabulary
words and learned that we have a quiz on Tuesday. Then we went over one of Maya
Angulo s stories to have an idea of what our observation paper looks like. Mr. Camp
ended class around 11:15 so I just walked downstairs to my other class. I was so early
that the class that uses the classroom before us was still there.
My teacher entered class looking like she was trying to put her life together.
Gathering the materials she will be needing for the lesson. She made a couple of
announcements and went along teaching. The class was long and dreadful. I
wanted to bring my bed in class to fall asleep. It felt like she has been talking forever
until I checked the time and saw only 25 minutes passed I realized this was going to
be a long class. Class ended and I hurried out of class not wanting to stay any
Sara Burns The Central Park Five Analysis
Confessions of the Central Park Five
Confessions, in the eyes of most people, have always been a good thing. As a child
your parents told you to confess your wrongdoing to them, to not get in trouble.
Confession plays a massive role in the religion; believers in God are taught that one
must confess their sins to their savior in order to be forgiven. In the criminal court,
confessions are used to convict both the innocent and the guilty. The confession
which was once pure has now been twisted, to take away loved ones from one
another, turn the innocent into the guilty, and rob the lives of the convicted. A
confession is a statement by which the person admits his or her guilt. However, does
admitting guilt brand you guilty?
In the book by Sara Burns, The Central Park Five, tells the story of five young men
who were incarcerated for the brutal rape and beating of a New York woman. The
confession that happened on April 19 1989 forever changed the lives of five innocent
teenagers. In the United States of America there is a widespread belief that the

Ethical Decision Making Model Of Ethics And Its...
After reviewing several ethical decision making models, reviewing the code of ethics
and its foundations, and examining personal beliefs and values surrounding ethics, I
have come up with an ethical decision making model. This model incorporates
aspects of pre existing models, including the social constructivist model, practitioner s
guide, feminist model, and Herlihy and Corey s (2015) elements of ethical decision
making (p. 20). This model is broken down into seven steps, which are meant to be
followed chronologically but may be returned to throughout the decision making
process when necessary. The steps can be easily remembered with the acronym, DR.
CAREFUL. The following are the names of each step and subsequent sections in this
model. 1.Describe the Dilemma 2.Reflect 3.Consult 4.Assess Possible Actions and
Consequences 5.Re consult 6.Execute 7.Follow up and Learn Throughout the entire
process, documentation is strongly advised. The following descriptions will enhance
the purpose of each step and outline specific actions. Describe the Dilemma Many
ethical decision making models suggest that the first step in an ethical decision
making model is to pinpoint the issue at hand by gathering information. This model
suggests that the first step in an ethical decision making model is to clearly define
and describe the dilemma. Dilemma The counselor should gather information on the
dilemma at hand. Questions to consider are: What are the implications of leaving
Pretest Exploratory Research Essay
Based on the previous review of literature, the researcher will use a pretest posttest
exploratory experimental design. The researcher conducted that the research question
will provide dementia caregivers with information on the side effects of being a
caregiver will better their understanding of being a caregiver. The researcher
hypothesized that proving the dementia caregivers with information on being a
caregiver will improve their understanding of being a caregiver. For this hypothesis,
the dependent variable in this study will be understanding the side effects and the
independent variable is the information on the side effect of being a caregiver. The
researchsuggestion was approved by the Delta State University IRB committee.

Persuasive Essay On Women In The Military
Did you know that women could be drafted to combat? I believe that women
should all get the chance to fight if they want to. There are tons of women that are
in combat. They all join for different reasons, some join just to see what it s like,
and some join because they want to represent their country. During the Civil War
more than 400 women went into the army disguising themselves as men, just do
that they could fight in the war. If women can dress up as men and go to war and
fight for our country then i feel like we should give them the right to do it. In 2011
there was about 203,000 women in the United StatesMilitary. Some people think that
women aren t capable of doing it, or that she won t be able to do it. Women going
into the combatknow that it is not an easy thing and are up to the challenge. But to
me I think that if she thinks she can do it and is up for the challenge that we should
believe that she can doing it to. In 1948 President Truman helped make a separate
military service for women. If a women can show that she is capable in a boot camp
then why shouldn t she be able to fight for our country.
For women to be in the Military it might be tougher meaning guys naturally have
more muscle, but if a women had their mindset on doing it, no one should tell her
that is isn t allowed to because she isn t a guy. Today women have so much more
freedom than what they used to have. Many people think that women won t be
aggressive during the war and that s why they should not be able to be a part of
something as great as it. I think that women will be aggressive when it comes to
the real fight because they know that if they don t they could most likely be killed.
Going into the military women know that they have a chance of not coming out.
Solveig Krey was the first woman commander of a Norwegian submarine in 1995.
For years women have been filling in combat roles. After being in the war and
killing another human being those images stay in your head, or well for Leigh Ann
Hester, she still thinks about it every single day. March of 2005 Hester s Kentucky
National Guard Military Police squad of eight men and two women, 11 people total,
escorted the convoy on the southeast of Baghdad when more than 50
In Favor of a More Liberal Drug Policy Essay
In Favor of a More Liberal Drug Policy In William J. Bennett s address entitled
Drug Policy and the Intellectuals, Bennett maintains that the drug problem in
America can be ultimately solved. In my opinion, the drug problem in America is
one that cannot be completely resolved to the point where drug use no longer exists
in America, but drug abuse can be alleviated. One effective way to do this would be
to legalize the personal useof drugs that are more common and less potent (like
marijuana), and to stop wasting time and tax dollarspunishing minor offenders.
Legalizing the use of soft drugs would help bolster the U.S. economy, partially
because the government would have the ability to tax these drugs. This includes...

A policy that focuses on imprisoning all drug users and dealers is the type of policy
that is prone to hurt America economically.
Drug prohibition may be a factor that is actually encouraging the spread of harder
drugs. As government officials and police officers become more skilled in
capturing drug smugglers and dealers, the pushers find more efficient ways to
transport and conceal drugs, creating a larger supply and often making hard drugs
more accessible and affordable to the common user. Although the government has
succeeded in raising marijuana prices from $20 and ounce in the 1960 s to $200
an ounce today, the price of cocaine has fallen from $50,000 a kilo in the 1970 s to
$10,000 a kilo today. Also, the potency and composition of these drugs is often
unpredictable. If the government legalized these more minor drugs, as Milton
Friedman pointed out in his essay There s No Justice in the War on Drugs, they d
have the ability to regulate them and make them less dangerous than they would have
been if they d been sold on the street.
Bennett s arguments against the legalization of drugs are somewhat one sided. This
may have been why I was more convinced by Friedman s essay, which relied more on
concrete facts than on the pretense that the opposing argument was trivial. In Drug
Policy and the Intellectuals, Bennett says, To call it a debate suggests that the
arguments in favor of drug legalization are rigorous, substantial,
Joan Of Arc Research Paper
I do not fear the soldiers, for my road is made open to me; and if the soldiers come, I
have God, my Lord, who will know how to clear the route that leads to messire the
Dauphin. It was for this that I was born! These are the words that Joan of Arc, also
known as the Maid Of OrlГ©ans exclaimed to a woman while traveling to Chinon
to talk to the king to be Charles VII at about 16 years of age.
Joan of Arc was born around 1412 in DomrГ©my, northeastern France to a father
named Jacques d Arc and Isabelle RomГ©e. Joan was a shepherdess and looked
after the sheep, but she preferred household jobs and chores. During this time, the
Hundred Years War was raging. In 1415, King Henry V of England invaded
northern France. In 1420, the Treaty of Troyes was signed. This treaty was an
agreement that King Henry V would inherit the throne of France because of the death
of King Charles VI of France.
Around this time in 1425, Joan started receiving visions from St. Michael, St.
Margaret of Antioch and St. Catherine of Alexandria. The Saints told Joan to assist
Charles VII to free France from the English. She was only 13 at the time so Joan just

inspiration to fight! Joan armed herself and traveled quickly to an English fort. Her
arrival excited and pumped up the French troops fighting there and they surrounded
the fort. The day after, she sent a letter of disobedience and defiance to the English.
On may 6th, she moved towards another fort of the English. The English instantly
abandoned the fort and moved to another area where more English troops were. Joan
and a commander La Hire attacked them successfully. After that, Joan and La Hire
advanced on another fort and the French troops sustained the attacks until the English
were found retreating! Joan Of Arc was named Maid of OrlГ©ans because of her

2013 Jeanne Henry, Ph.D. Fundamentals of Research Methodology This paper will
explore the fundamentals of research methodology in the Psychology field and
discuss the importance of psychology. The answers to these questions are the basis
for the theories that led to research. Research is the groundwork performed by
Psychologists in order to answer questions about behavior and the mind. The
outcome of the research will offer a clear picture of why an individual act the way
he or she does. In the Psychology field, data is gathered to conduct the research and

The Quantitative data collected can be used to graph or construct a table of the
results. The Qualitative data is the more complicated of the two data s because it
is descriptive but both are equally important. Scientific Theory Construction and
Testing Testing is conducted and hypothesis is formed in order to reach an
outcome. Clearly to understand scientific theory, the word has to first be defined.
Scientific theory is based on scientific observations are hypothesized and retested
until it is proven to be valid, and there is not evidence to disprove it. The variables
are taken into consideration when creating a theory. Intervening variables is
important when developing theories because the ideas allow the researchers to
explain the relationship between independent and dependent variables. If the test
is inaccurate and the hypothesis proves to be false, the testing process will be
repeated and once accurate a theory is formed. Research is a trial and error process.
The Scientific Theory Construction and Testing is an important research process.
The first step is to introduce the theory. The second step is to develop a hypothesis
used to explain the theory. The third step to conduct an experiment used to approve
or disprove the hypothesis. Once the process is confirmed and hypothesis is proved
to be valid, a theory is formed. Researchers evaluate theories by judging the

How To Find A Reliable Health Website
Overview
In the era we are living in, the internet has become the number one source of
information (it is the reason you are reading this by the way). This is due to its
convenience and speed. Nowadays you no longer have to rummage through a whole
library to get a book on a topic you want; just a click on your computer or phone and
you are sorted. The trend is no different when it comes to health matters. It is this
tendency that has led to the emergence of consumer health information that helps
persons keep their health in check as well as make wise health decisions for them
and their families.

A Comparison of Pride in King Lear and The Duchess of...
The Sin of Pride Exposed in King Lear, and The Duchess of Malfi
In this brief monograph, we shall be hunting down and examining various creatures
from the bestiary of Medieval/Renaissance thought. Among these are the fierce lion
of imperious, egotistical power, a pair of fantastic peacocks, one of vanity, one of
preening social status, and the docile lamb of humility. The lion and the peacocks
are of the species known as pride, while the lamb is of an entirely different, in fact
antithetical race, that of humility and forgiveness. The textual regions we shall be
exploring include the diverse expanses, from palace to heath, of William
Shakespeare, the dark, sinister Italy of John Webster, and the perfumed lady s
chambers of Ben ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only pride bows to flattery, and Kent is in essence telling Lear that his pride is
getting the better of him.
Another aspect of pride which appears in King Lear, as well as Webster s The Duchess
of Malfi, is that of the preoccupation with reputation and social status. In the latter
play, it can be seen in Ferdinand s speech to the Duchess in act III, scene ii, in
which he tells her an allegorical story about reputation, love, and death (See
appendix). Given the Duke s choleric disposition and unnaturally obsessive fixation
on his sister s sexual activity, it is not altogether certain how far his speech is
motivated by pride and how much it is a product of another mortal sin (not treated
here), lust. All the same, it is indicative of an overall world view in which pride of
place is woven into the social fabric of the time. (Indeed, things are not so very
different today, 400 years later Plus ca change...)
The Duchess offers up her own little allegorical tale at the end of act IV, scene iii in
which she relates the fable of the salmon and the dogfish to her murderer to be,
Bosola (see appendix). This speech is the perfect companion piece and point
/counterpoint style retort to Ferdinand s paranoid parable. Where Ferdinand casts
death as a mere supporting character in his story, the Duchess more rightly sees
death, the net, as the great leveler, bringing an end to the foolish, proud scorn of
great men for those born
The Beef With Antibiotics
The Beef with Antibiotics
In recent years, Americans have been blaming antibiotics used in animals to be
processed for food for many of the growing number of health problems in developed
countries. Fast food restaurants are making movements to remove antibiotic treated
meats from their menus. This movement is causing quite the stir in consumers and
livestock producers alike. Do the antibiotics used in beef really contribute to antibiotic
resistant diseases? Should antibiotics be outlawed in the use of farm animals? The
eradication of antibiotic use in America s beef industry is not feasible due to its
usage in the treatment and control of deadly or discomforting diseases.
Presently, speculations have risen about the amount of antibiotics used in the
livestock industry and the desire to consume antibiotic free meats. What is not
understood, however, is the USDA has been monitoring the amount of antimicrobial
residue in meats for several years. If unsafe levels are detected the meat is not allowed
to be sold for human consumption. Yet, fast food chains such as Subway and
Chipotle are claiming to go completely antibiotic free within the next decade. The
practicality of this becoming a reality is slim due to the need to control, treat, and
prevent diseases. To truly understand the importance of the antibiotic usage in cattle it
must first be understood what antibiotics are and the reasons they are used.
Additionally, the use of vaccinations should be taken into account for the

the bird was an Antillean Crested Hummingbird and I love hummingbirds. I also
like them because there feathers are usually blue, green, light, green, and black.
Then we saw many bright and colorful flowers, along the path. We also saw many
tall trees. After we took a trail around our a campsite, we started to head
The Importance Of Forensic Anthropology
In 1940, Law enforcement agencies began to call Anthropologists to assist with
identifying a human and their skeletal remains, as this led on Forensic Anthropology
started to become known. The crime rate in today society is dramatically rising. With
the help of Forensic Anthropology people can help solve crimes committed. When
Forensic Anthropologybecame popular it made an impact on society and everyone
around the world, and still does today. To truly understand the complicity of Forensic
Anthropology you need to know: what is it, what they do in the field of work, and
why it is important to society.
Forensic anthropology is the study The analysis of human biological and cultural
remains for legal purposes ( Anthropology is the study of humans, and forensic
anthropologists focus their studies on the human body as it helps figure out the
severity of the accident. Determining a humans cause of death is done by the help of
forensic anthropology. There are many ways a scientist can determine the cause of
the of death. The process to determine a deiced human body usually involves an
examination on the skeleton remains. Their study of human remains aids in the
detection of crime by working to assess the age, sex, stature, ancestry, and unique
features of a skeleton, which may include documenting trauma to the skeleton and its
postmortem interval (Forensic Anthropologist job description). Bone damage and
fragments can also provide evidence from the murder victim which can

Jealousy can arise over the good fortune of friends or associates. This also ties in to
feelings of self worth; person who doesn t have a strong self image may feel that
he or she is not getting the fair share and that others always get the breaks. All
emotions, even jealousy, are trying to tell us something about ourselves. It is
important to understand and acknowledge that jealousy has a purpose. If we are
ashamed of feeling jealous, we have the natural instinct to try to mask it with
protective emotion such as anger, frustration, or resentment. Instead of masking our
feelings, we should ask ourselves, Why am I choosing to feel jealous? Not
everything is equal or fair, but to be dishonest about your own feelings is wrong.
There will always be someone out there who is more beautiful, more talented, and
more successful. But so

Design And Creation Of Buildings Architecture is considered to be the design and creation of buildings that reflects their culture, religion, environment and technology used in its time period. The mastermind behind any type of architecture is the architect itself. Two well known and respected architects in modern history are Frank Lloyd Wright and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Both known for their amazing architectural thoughts, and the inspirations that affected many other architects. Both, Wright and Rohe, created new schools of design for their abilities which brought about techniques that are still used today. These architects were both involved in exploring the relationships of spatial distribution, form and function, materials used, reflecting their current time through their design, and creating buildings and houses that were both artistically beautiful as well as beneficial. Both of these architects have many common attributes to each other s designs as well as ideas, but also the many differences that set apart these architects as few of the many renowned architects in modern history. Frank Lloyd Wright is an American architect who designed many houses and inspired the work of hundreds of scholars.4 Wright believed in designing structures that were in synchronization with humanity and its environment; a philosophy he called organic architecture .1 He read a broad array of architecture books and thought that architecture had been pushed too much into modernization.4 He believed in the true design of

In some cultures, being a man may mean being comfortable with both your masculine and feminine sides or it could suggest being tough and not letting your feelings show at all. Manliness can be demonstrated in some cultures by providing for a family through work, and in others, it might mean scoring the winning goal in a championship game. It is not an easy thing to define an entire genderbased on the arbitrary set of ever changing social and cultural norms, but somehow it still happens. Stanley Kowalski is the typical hyper masculine example of a man in the late 1940 s to early 1950 s. He is described by his sister in law as an ape (Williams 121), he is abusive towards his wife, and he is the breadwinner of the family he literally brings home the meat and throws it at his wife to catch and cook. Masculinity itself is not a character flaw, but when expressed with such ferocity it can become a crutch and unflattering. Stanley displays his manliness in several different ways throughout the play, something that the author Tennessee Williams did on purpose to reflect on the societal norms of the time and to do so in a questioning manner. The manliness that Stanley has is not one that is kept tamed and unleashed in appropriate moments, but is a type that is constantly wanting people to know that he is the king (Williams 138) of his home and family. By asserting his dominance, Stanley is showing how masculinity can be a force that drives one to do absurd things in order to keep up a façade. Willy Loman s disposition is not as boisterous as Streetcar s anti hero, Stanley, but is instead more internal and self reflective. His views of masculinity arise from the
  • 5. The Importance Of Music In The Socialization Of Children... Music plays and important role in the socialization of children and adolescents. Music is ubiquitous and easily available, whether through the radio, social media or other media outlets. It provides entertainment, and is often utilized as a distraction to relieve stress or boredom. However, as lyrics become more vulgar and explicit, the effect that certain genres of music, such as rap, hip hop and heavy metal, have on youth, has become of paramount concern. Research has been conducted on whether a child s or teenager s preference in those types of music could be correlated with negative behaviors. Delinquent behaviors of youth who listen to those genres of music are often attributed to the music itself, rather than how the child current mental or emotional state. Parents, unfortunately, are often unaware of their child s musical habits. Therefore, when a child exhibits any type of negative behavior, the parent frequently tries to conjure a reason for this misbehavior; More often than not, when there is not a reasonable cause to the delinquency, many parents blame the particular genre of music that their child listens to. This attributes to the negative connotation that is often associated with heavy metal, rap and hip hop music. All genres of music are a form of expression meant to entertain certain audiences: not to be negatively thought of, because of how certain people react to it. In order to reduce the negative connotation associated with heavy metal, rap and hip hop

We now have the technology to provide people that have missing limbs with fake ones so that they can continue on living their lives and enjoy it. This is just incredible. Many infectious diseases such as Chicken Pox, Malaria, Measles and Tuberculosis have been conquered through vaccines, antibiotics, and improved living conditions. Cancer has become a more common illness, but treatments have been developed that effectively combat some forms of the disease .We also have the technology to control abnormal heart rhythms with the use of a pacemaker. I think pacemakers are absolutely fantastic, such a clever idea. Pacemakers have prolonged people with heart conditions life span and made life easier for them to live. The way a little camera can be inserted into the body to look at problems/diseases, completely puts me in awe. Also heart and lung transplants are one of the marvels of today s world. This again saves people s lives. The way that a team of doctors and nurses are able to take out a patient s heart or lung and put in a new one so that they can live is truly a marvel. Medical technology is just phenomenal and unbelievable. Through technology, millions of lives have been saved and improved dramatically. This is why I d consider it to be one of the marvels of today s world. The original

Zinsser states, They want a map right now that they can follow unswervingly to career security, financial security, social security, and presumably, a prepaid grave (12). He is spot on, the pressures demand my attention and won t take no for an answer. So far I ve gone head to head with these pressures every day since I started my freshman year in college. Tequila Crisis Research Paper The cause of Tequila Crises was a catalogue of several issues that build up to a crescendo level and generated into an explosive situation, that resulted in the collapse of the financial institutions and subsequently led to civil disobedience. There were in my opinion two causes; the remote and the immediate cause. In the remote cause; the government embarked on reforms and deregulation of the economy in the 1980s on a scale that was seen as too quick and too fast and sudden. Among some of the reforms, the then President Miguel de la Madrid(1982 1988) took a bold decision to liberalize Trade and International Capital flow which he had thought would bolster trade relationship between Mexicoand the developed countries.. Furtherance to that, the government moved to reduce import tariffs on items imported from Uruguay, a neighbor country to cement trade relationship between Mexico and Uruguay under the auspices of General Agreement on Tariff and Trade (GATT)...Then came the predecessor of President Miguel; President Carlos Selinas de Gotari (1988 1994) went further to sign foreign trade agreement with United States called North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and later liberalized the financial system, privatizing the largest commercial banks and deregulating the banking system.; Obstfeld and Taylor (2004).... Hardy s stacked up an average of 13 sacks and 40 solo tackles in his last two full seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He s extremely explosive off the edge and has elite hands that make it almost impossible to block him for an entire game. Hardy will be a huge upgrade for the Cowboys. With one position improved in the rush men rotation, who else can the Cowboys count on to contribute not only during Hardy s four game suspension but also for the entire season. For starters, nobody should sleep on Jeremy Mincey. He doesn t get talked about much but he was kind of the unsung hero of the Dallas pass rush last season leading the team in sacks with 6, and QB pressures with 39. He was also named team captain after Justin Durant went on IR. This is a contract year for him and at the age of 31 he won t see many more. With more help along the defensive line he should get some more favorable match ups and have another nice season. Tyrone Crawford didn t see snap his entire rookie season but last season was his coming out party. The 2013 third round pick wrecks absolute havoc up the middle. There were several times last season when Jeremy Mincey and Henry Melton got the credit for the sack but it was Crawford who pushed the line taking on two or three blockers at once giving them a free run at the QB. Crawford had a good season last year ranking in the top 15 of all DT s (according to

According to Smith, physical discipline among children was proven to cause aggression, damage to social relationships, poorer academic achievement, weak parent child relationships, and development of internal problems such as anxiety or depression (n.d., para 1.). The negative long term effects that physical punishment produces are not worth the short period of time that a child complies. If more parents were informed on the damages that follow corporal punishment, this means of guidance and instruction could possibly decrease ensuring a higher quality of life for children in the future. With this in mind, a child who withstands physical punishment has a likelihood of growing up to be emotionally unstable. Undergoing this type of treatment reaches the child to the core and begins to deteriorate their ability to function as an independent member of society. Physical punishment that is considered child abuse can lead to low self esteem, brain damage, attention disorders and substance abuse, states the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (Case, 2014, para.5). Whether the inflictions are severe enough to cross the line of abuse or not, any form of this misconduct must be eliminated to spare the child of obstacles they will face in the future due to the emotional deficiency. Cognitively speaking, children who experience physical punishment have a reduced ability to expand

Marvel s Black Widow is far superior to Black Canaryin her more consistent background and history, more widespread experience, and more numerous skills. As one can see, Stoker really is trying to emphasize his notion of vampire qualities. His eyebrows were very massive, almost meeting over the nose, and with bushy hair that seemed to curl in its own profusion. • 30. Autism Relates to Exposure to Ionizing and Non-ionizing... Pregnant women have a higher risk to exposure of ionizing radiation and non ionizing radiation because of the many procedures that they have to go through for their medical procedures (Williams, 2010). Some of the nonionizing exposures could include radio frequencies, microwaves and especially ultrasounds in women when going for their monthly checkups. When looking at ionizing radiation, in utero exposure could be carcinogenic, mutagenic, or teratogenic (Williams, 2010). Carcinogenic is radiation that directly causes cancer. Mutagenic involves when X rays are capable of creating a mutation. Teratogenic can interrupt with normal embryonic development and produce risks with the developing fetus. These effects depend on the exposure level of the radiation and the stage of the fetal development (Williams, 2010). Regardless of the dose of radiation, the long term risk of their offspring having autism is still increased. The amount of radiation that the mother and the child should be exposed to should be monitored and kept at a low dose through the entire pregnancy. Ultrasounds have been a big issue in how it can cause a child to have Autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Risks of Ionizing radiation during pregnancy depends on the amount of prenatal exposure and the stage of development the embryois at. During organogenesis, two to seven weeks of fertilization, is when the embryo has a higher risk to major effects of radiation (Williams, 2010). Introduction Autism

They were not the only group to look forward to this event but it became of paramount interest to the Millerites, as they had a set date for Christ s second return.[8] As the Second Great Awakening grew more mindful of Christ s second coming, so did the Millerite Movement. The story of William Miller is one which climaxes in his desire to share about Christ s immediate return and the Great Disappointment. The result is the Adventist church we have today. Apert syndrome accounts for approximately 4.5% of all craniosynostosissyndromes, with an estimated birth prevalence of 1:64,500 (Giancotti et al., 2014, p. 1445). • 44. Persuasive Essay On Women In The Military Did you know that women could be drafted to combat? I believe that women should all get the chance to fight if they want to. There are tons of women that are in combat. They all join for different reasons, some join just to see what it s like, and some join because they want to represent their country. During the Civil War more than 400 women went into the army disguising themselves as men, just do that they could fight in the war. If women can dress up as men and go to war and fight for our country then i feel like we should give them the right to do it. In 2011 there was about 203,000 women in the United StatesMilitary. Some people think that women aren t capable of doing it, or that she won t be able to do it. Women going into the combatknow that it is not an easy thing and are up to the challenge. But to me I think that if she thinks she can do it and is up for the challenge that we should believe that she can doing it to. In 1948 President Truman helped make a separate military service for women. If a women can show that she is capable in a boot camp then why shouldn t she be able to fight for our country. For women to be in the Military it might be tougher meaning guys naturally have more muscle, but if a women had their mindset on doing it, no one should tell her that is isn t allowed to because she isn t a guy. Today women have so much more freedom than what they used to have. Many people think that women won t be aggressive during the war and that s why they should not be able to be a part of something as great as it. I think that women will be aggressive when it comes to the real fight because they know that if they don t they could most likely be killed. Going into the military women know that they have a chance of not coming out. Solveig Krey was the first woman commander of a Norwegian submarine in 1995. For years women have been filling in combat roles. After being in the war and killing another human being those images stay in your head, or well for Leigh Ann Hester, she still thinks about it every single day. March of 2005 Hester s Kentucky National Guard Military Police squad of eight men and two women, 11 people total, escorted the convoy on the southeast of Baghdad when more than 50
  • 45. In Favor of a More Liberal Drug Policy Essay In Favor of a More Liberal Drug Policy In William J. Bennett s address entitled Drug Policy and the Intellectuals, Bennett maintains that the drug problem in America can be ultimately solved. In my opinion, the drug problem in America is one that cannot be completely resolved to the point where drug use no longer exists in America, but drug abuse can be alleviated. One effective way to do this would be to legalize the personal useof drugs that are more common and less potent (like marijuana), and to stop wasting time and tax dollarspunishing minor offenders. Legalizing the use of soft drugs would help bolster the U.S. economy, partially because the government would have the ability to tax these drugs. This includes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A policy that focuses on imprisoning all drug users and dealers is the type of policy that is prone to hurt America economically. Drug prohibition may be a factor that is actually encouraging the spread of harder drugs. As government officials and police officers become more skilled in capturing drug smugglers and dealers, the pushers find more efficient ways to transport and conceal drugs, creating a larger supply and often making hard drugs more accessible and affordable to the common user. Although the government has succeeded in raising marijuana prices from $20 and ounce in the 1960 s to $200 an ounce today, the price of cocaine has fallen from $50,000 a kilo in the 1970 s to $10,000 a kilo today. Also, the potency and composition of these drugs is often unpredictable. If the government legalized these more minor drugs, as Milton Friedman pointed out in his essay There s No Justice in the War on Drugs, they d have the ability to regulate them and make them less dangerous than they would have been if they d been sold on the street. Bennett s arguments against the legalization of drugs are somewhat one sided. This may have been why I was more convinced by Friedman s essay, which relied more on concrete facts than on the pretense that the opposing argument was trivial. In Drug Policy and the Intellectuals, Bennett says, To call it a debate suggests that the arguments in favor of drug legalization are rigorous, substantial,

Joan Of Arc Research Paper I do not fear the soldiers, for my road is made open to me; and if the soldiers come, I have God, my Lord, who will know how to clear the route that leads to messire the Dauphin. It was for this that I was born! These are the words that Joan of Arc, also known as the Maid Of OrlГ©ans exclaimed to a woman while traveling to Chinon to talk to the king to be Charles VII at about 16 years of age. Joan of Arc was born around 1412 in DomrГ©my, northeastern France to a father named Jacques d Arc and Isabelle RomГ©e. Joan was a shepherdess and looked after the sheep, but she preferred household jobs and chores. During this time, the Hundred Years War was raging. In 1415, King Henry V of England invaded northern France. In 1420, the Treaty of Troyes was signed. This treaty was an agreement that King Henry V would inherit the throne of France because of the death of King Charles VI of France. Around this time in 1425, Joan started receiving visions from St. Michael, St. Margaret of Antioch and St. Catherine of Alexandria. Scientific theory is based on scientific observations are hypothesized and retested until it is proven to be valid, and there is not evidence to disprove it. The variables are taken into consideration when creating a theory. Intervening variables is important when developing theories because the ideas allow the researchers to explain the relationship between independent and dependent variables. If the test is inaccurate and the hypothesis proves to be false, the testing process will be repeated and once accurate a theory is formed. Research is a trial and error process. The Scientific Theory Construction and Testing is an important research process. The first step is to introduce the theory. The second step is to develop a hypothesis used to explain the theory. The third step to conduct an experiment used to approve or disprove the hypothesis. Once the process is confirmed and hypothesis is proved to be valid, a theory is formed. Researchers evaluate theories by judging the

The Sin of Pride Exposed in King Lear, and The Duchess of Malfi In this brief monograph, we shall be hunting down and examining various creatures from the bestiary of Medieval/Renaissance thought. Among these are the fierce lion of imperious, egotistical power, a pair of fantastic peacocks, one of vanity, one of preening social status, and the docile lamb of humility. The lion and the peacocks are of the species known as pride, while the lamb is of an entirely different, in fact antithetical race, that of humility and forgiveness. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Only pride bows to flattery, and Kent is in essence telling Lear that his pride is getting the better of him. Another aspect of pride which appears in King Lear, as well as Webster s The Duchess of Malfi, is that of the preoccupation with reputation and social status. In the latter play, it can be seen in Ferdinand s speech to the Duchess in act III, scene ii, in which he tells her an allegorical story about reputation, love, and death (See appendix). Given the Duke s choleric disposition and unnaturally obsessive fixation on his sister s sexual activity, it is not altogether certain how far his speech is motivated by pride and how much it is a product of another mortal sin (not treated here), lust. All the same, it is indicative of an overall world view in which pride of place is woven into the social fabric of the time. (Indeed, things are not so very different today, 400 years later Plus ca change...) The Duchess offers up her own little allegorical tale at the end of act IV, scene iii in which she relates the fable of the salmon and the dogfish to her murderer to be, Bosola (see appendix). This speech is the perfect companion piece and point /counterpoint style retort to Ferdinand s paranoid parable. Where Ferdinand casts death as a mere supporting character in his story, the Duchess more rightly sees death, the net, as the great leveler, bringing an end to the foolish, proud scorn of great men for those born
  • 50. The Beef With Antibiotics The Beef with Antibiotics In recent years, Americans have been blaming antibiotics used in animals to be processed for food for many of the growing number of health problems in developed countries. Fast food restaurants are making movements to remove antibiotic treated meats from their menus. This movement is causing quite the stir in consumers and livestock producers alike. Do the antibiotics used in beef really contribute to antibiotic resistant diseases? Should antibiotics be outlawed in the use of farm animals? The eradication of antibiotic use in America s beef industry is not feasible due to its usage in the treatment and control of deadly or discomforting diseases. Presently, speculations have risen about the amount of antibiotics used in the livestock industry and the desire to consume antibiotic free meats. What is not understood, however, is the USDA has been monitoring the amount of antimicrobial residue in meats for several years. If unsafe levels are detected the meat is not allowed to be sold for human consumption. Yet, fast food chains such as Subway and Chipotle are claiming to go completely antibiotic free within the next decade. The practicality of this becoming a reality is slim due to the need to control, treat, and prevent diseases. To truly understand the importance of the antibiotic usage in cattle it must first be understood what antibiotics are and the reasons they are used. Additionally, the use of vaccinations should be taken into account for the
