Who Is King Daniel
[2]In the beautiful city of Babylon, there once lived a man named Daniel. [1]He was
an advisor to the king. Daniel was different from the other advisors. He believed in the
one true God. One day, two of the king s other advisors watched as Daniel diligently
prayed to God. [6]They hated Daniel. He was always praying to God for guidance and
he was always honest. He wanted to do the right thing. The advisors despised him
because of that. Then one day, as they watched Daniel pray, they came up with an evil
idea. They would write up a document that would say that no one would be allowed to
pray. [5]If they disobeyed this law they would be thrown into the Lion s Den like a
piece of meat. [3]Suddenly, one day after the king had signed the document, they caught
him defying the law and praying any way. They rushed into his room and dragged him to
the king s throne room. [4]Forcing King Darius to... Show more content on

[6]Daniel could barely see anything. He soon heard the sounds of hungry lions
around him. He then began praying to God to keep him safe if it was His will. God
heard Daniel s prayers and sent an angel to close the snarling mouths of the lions.
[2]Throughout the night, none of the lions ever bothered him. Some of them even
wanted to cuddle. [3]Unceasingly, Daniel prayed all night. [5] As he sat in the
darkness untouched, he knew the advisors would come back in the morning to see if
he had been killed, which was what they wanted to happen. The next morning Daniel
saw streams of light peering thru the top of the entrance. [4]Hearing a noise above
him, Daniel looked up. The king, who had worried about him all night, was prying the
top off the cavern. Daniel, he shouted, are you alive? Did the God you believe and trust
in protect you? Daniel answered him and told him that God had taken care of him and
that he had sent an angel to close the mouths of the lions. The king then sent for help so
that they could pull Daniel out of the deep
Slave Narrative In History
Chapter 3 contains the aftermath of the ending of slavery in Washington and Turnage
s lives and how they proceeded their lives as the first freed . Of course, being in charge
of their own lives a lot of responsibility came along especially since they had families to
care for. For example, finding shelter in safe grounds, and feeding themselves.
Washington Turnage had to work several jobs to make living such as waiter, clerk,
secretary and the common laboring. The slaves now had to bring the knowledge that they
had brought with them from slavery, freed people educated children nurtured a
community increasingly surrounded by a racially hostile world, found spiritual solace,
gathered their scattering families and took ownership of their lives (pg 95). The church
played a key role in uniting African Americans and helping build a community with one
another. Church provided faith, jobs and shelter.
During this time Fredrick Douglas also contributed knowledge to the community.
Although, Washington and Turnage left one hardship for another, they made the best of
their freedom and took it with gratitude. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Little did they know, their narratives would help understand slave life in a different
context. Which ties to the theme of History, what is the role of the slave narrative in
history? and how can there be new history when more documentaries like this are
found? Well, the role of slave narratives help us remember and honor what millions of
Africans and people suffered. Not only that, helps us visualize the growth of our nation.
I personally think when more documentaries like this our found we should embark on
investigating those who owned plantations and had pure hatred because, some people
aren t over the Confederate times and could still be attacking people of color til this day.
Leading Worship Reflection
At the beginning of the semester we did an evaluation on how we believed we
performed in certain aspects of leading worship. In my first personal growth plan I talked
about how I needed to approve in the areas of Humility on the Platform, Clarity in
Leadership/Instruction, Transitions, and Instrumental Skills. Through the semester I
have seen major improvement in some of these, and then in other not so much. This class
though has taught and shown me ways that I can improve in all areas and become a better
worship leader. In the aspect of Humility on the Platform I would say that I have
improved tremendously over the semester. I believe this improvement came from the
experience of leading more this semester then I have in the past. I now do... Show more

Through using more scripture and prayers, along with times of confession, it has
improved each set to where it not only smooth, but edifying to the people. Through the
transitions applying to the song it adds content that points to God, and it also helps point
the congregation s heart to the gospel. The transitions fill in the holes that the songs
sometimes give or leave open. This makes the service more of a teaching tool to the
people. There is always room for improvement in transitions that can make a service
better every time. Hopefully, I continue to grow in this area more. Lastly, my
Instrumental Skills have not improved this semester. I have not had time to work on my
piano skills this semester, and have not learned any other instrument. I hope that within
the next few months and years that I can set aside time to continuing learning how to play
the piano. I know that if I were to lead worship somewhere that this would be a nice skill
to have, but this semester has taught me that you can still produce a good set without
knowing how to play an instrument. I have learned so much this semester in every
aspect and skill that involves leading worship. This class has made me a better leader
and improve overall in what leading worship looks like. I am glad that I decided to take
this class because it has also helped me understand how important worship is for
everyone s relationship with God. This
Examples Of Motives For English Imperialism
C132 Survey of United States History
Griselda Brower
Task 1
A. Motives for English Imperialism
Empires seek various prompts to help them expand their rule to other countries and
territories. Amongst these motives include, economic gain, exploratory, political,
religious and ethnocentric motives.
Due to the large importation of American crops, England s population doubled in size.
With all the new people migrating to England, people started to compete for food,
clothing and housing. This led to inflation of England. The increase number of people
looking for works caused a decreased in wages. When landowners raised rents and
seizing land, people were forced to leave their homes. Residents were forced to share
smallholdings with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1533, Henry VIII became obsessed with Anne Boleyn. Henry VIII asked the pope to
annul his almost 20 year marriage to Catherine de Aragon. When the pope refused,
Henry VIII founded his own church. He named is Church of England and he proclaim
himself to be the head of the new founded church. People started to move to America
where they wanted freedom of religion (Khle, 2009).
In the mid sixteen century, John Hawkins and Sir Francis Drake raided a fleet of
Spanish treasure that was sailing from the Caribbean. Their actions helped influence a
war in 1558, where it assisted I n the defeat of a huge Spanish force. After the defeat of
the Spanish force, English leader start to consider planting colonies in the Western
Hemisphere. They argued that this would be a better way to gain better access to trade
good and helped prevent their enemies from dominating in America. Eventually, the
Western Hemisphere was controlled by the European Countries. European government
took no time in controlling plants, food, landscaping and clothing. After the European
government obtained almost all of the political power over 50,000 people fled to
America, in hopes of better opportunities (Khle, 2009).
C. Major Ideas and Events that Led to the American Revolution
The American Revolutionary war
The American Revolutionary War started in 1977. It began because of an open conflict
between the thirteen colonies and Great Britain. The
Summary Of The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst
The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst is a short story about a man looking back on his
childhood and his experience with his little brother, Doodle. The author uses simile to
foreshadow the ending of the story and to show the theme. One of the first examples of
is when the protagonist s parents decide on a name for their child, They named him
William Armstrong, which was like tying a big tail on a small kite, (Hurst) The simile
foreshadows the ending because it is exactly what happens in the ending. After the
protagonist teaches his brother how to walk, he decides to train Doodle to fight, run, and
swim. The protagonist s pride ends up blinding him to his little brother s failing health.
Doodle ends up having nightmares, and he becomes sick.... Show more content on

It is important to the theme because the protagonist s pride puts too much on his small
brother. Since the theme of the story is the dangers of pride and how it can go too far.
The simile, putting a big tail on a small kite, can be shown as the protagonist pushing
Doodle too far. Another simile in the story happens after the protagonist and his family
find a dead scarlet ibis that fell from a tree, the protagonist says that, Even death did not
mar its grace, for it lay on the earth like a broken vase of red flowers (Hurst) The simile
that the author uses shows two motifs that are important to the story. One of the first of
terms is nature. It shows how this Scarlet Ibis who driven many miles from its home
ends up dying. This is like how in the end of the story, nature ends up separating the two
brothers and killing Doodle in the process. Also, the quote touches on another element
that is explored quit heavily in the story, death. The line like a broken vase of red
flowers can be contributed to this. The color red can be attributed to blood, which in turn
can be attributed to
Concs And Romes Advantages And Disadvantages
Carthage and Rome were two great powers that existed in Italy and Spain. Two fought
continuous for power over the region, utilizing their individual strengths to their benefits,
both, evolving to best the other.
Carthage and Rome both rise to the occasion
Carthage, like Rome, was concerned with increasing its power in the region by
conquering cities and taking over their land. Carthage used a governing system similar to
that of Rome, however they did not require the cities they conquered to become their
subjects (Morey, 1901). Carthage had a stable army with permanent general and this
enabled them to become quite the fighting force. Carthage and Rome were destined to
become rivals as the two were both powerful forces in their own right. According to
Morey (1901), Carthage had greater wealth, but Rome was better organized and whilst
Carthage had a more powerful navy, Rome s army was her strength.
The First Punic war was the beginning of the conflict between Rome and Carthage. The
two fought for possession of Sicily, which at the time was in the hands of Syracuse,
Campanian
Soldiers and Carthage. Rome was brought into the foray on the island when the King of
Syracuse advanced on the Campanian soldiers, forcing them to seek help from Rome.
When Rome delayed their response, the Campanians, brought in help from Carthage.
Rome viewed this as a betrayal and the Roman general seized the Carthaginian
commander in a feat of treachery.
Carthage agreed to give up Messana (Campanian
Football Vs Basketball Compare And Contrast
Sports have been played for centuries around the world. Two of the most admired
sports are football and basketball. They are especially popular in America; football is
ranked the most popular, and basketball is ranked the third most popular. Football
became a sport in the United states in 1869; however, basketballwas not a sportin the
United statesuntil 1891. Both basketball and football are considered to be team sports.
While football and basketball have their similarities, football has a longer playing time,
has more people playing with protective equipment, and is played outdoors with a
smaller ball on a larger field. When observing the differences between football and
basketball, one cannot help but notice the differences in playing time. Football games at
the professional and college level go on for sixty minutes. They have two, thirty minute
halves or four, fifteen minute quarters. On the other hand, basketball at the professional
level goes on for forty eight minutes, and at the college level, forty minutes. College
basketball has only two, twenty minute halves. Professional basketball has four, twelve
minute quarters. Football playing times at both the professional and college level are
longer than those of basketball.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since basketball and football are team sports, they have various people playing at
once. Football has eleven players on the field at a time. Because football is a full
contact sport, most football players must wear certain protective equipment. A football
player s protective gear includes things such as a helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, cleats,
a mouthguard, and a jockstrap. To the contrary, basketball has only five players on the
court at a time. Basketball players also do not need protective gear since it is considered
to be a non contact sport; however, protective gear such as knee pads, elbow pads, or a
mouth guard is

The Dutch Republic
Introduction The Dutch republic came to be when part of the Netherlands separated from
Spanish rule in 1579 and gained international recognition in 1648. It was characterized by
its high population density (which is a continuity to this day), and its early, high level of
urbanization. From the 16th to 18th centuries, the Dutch rose to power comparable to
even Britain and France. This was also the period of time when world trade flourished
and linked continents, acquiring the name global trade. In fact, the Dutch republic
experienced such growth and improvement that the 17th century was the Dutch golden
age. During the golden age, trade, military, art, and science flourished. This all led to a
domination in trade, production of ships, etc.
Western Europe After the split of the Roman Empire, the western half fell as the east
prospered. Then in the medieval period, the catholic western European states emerged
stronger than ever, causing the distinction between roman catholic/protestant vs eastern
orthodox in Europe. Western Europe was made up of competitive states that came to play
major roles. The Dutch republic managed to become largely influential and powerful
through trade. As previously mentioned, competitiveness was and still is a characteristic
of Western Europe. Since the Dutch focused on ship building to support the trade they
were beginning to be a part of.
Through this time period emerged the Columbian exchange and some European states
also took an interest

It s a pleasure to have you here. I m sure Rick will waste no time in showing you

Rick quirked an eyebrow, his eyes filled with mirth. Will you?
I don t know. You guys probably...

Michonne pressed her lips together trying not to give him the indication that he was

Are you serious Tipsy? He shook his head. The Swiss Alps.
She threw her hands up defensively. My dad was the ambassador to Switzerland and I

I can honestly say, I ve never had a friend like you. I feel like an uncultured hillbilly.
Oh stop. She cut her eyes to the entrance of the stables. So, are you going to show me
around or not? I d prefer to have my tour before the rain comes pouring down.
So demanding, he grumbled jokingly, taking her hand in his and leading her out of the
stables. What can I show you first? I m not sure what kind of impression I ll make
considering you re a world class traveling princess. You ve probably seen it all.
What s over there? She pointed to a small stone path near the side of the house.
Are you a mind reader Tipsy? His blue eyes twinkled with delight. That s actually one
of my favorite places here. He tugged on her hand. Come on. Hold on to your

Biomedical Appliances And The Destruction They Bring
Biomedical Appliances and the Destruction They Bring In the ever growing industry of
biomedical sciences, many devices have the potential to cause harm to the environment.
They have to be treated with such caution and have drastic disposal measures in place to
make sure no damage is done to the environment. Yes, these steps are incredibly
important with devices such as these, but why use a product with such devastating
potential? With today s modern technology and brilliant scientists should put more effort
into creating more environmentally friendly biomedical technology whilst still having
the same benefits. The world today is ever changing and technology is progressively
advancing each and every day. Laura Cabrera wrote an article in which she discusses the
effect humans have on the environmentand how the environment affects them. The goal
of the article is to discover how biomedical science can be further developed by
understanding the environmental impact of humans. Technological advancements have
yielded positive economic growth, improved standards of living, and provided new ways
of protecting humanhealth. At the same time, technology has contributed to widespread
negative changes in the environment that include global climate change, deforestation,
suburban sprawl, ecosystem loss, and increased health risks from exposure to radiation,
toxicants, and stress (Cabrera 1). Whereas this technology can be lifesaving and a great
benefit to a modern health, it can

Negative Side Of Sweatshops
Colin Buckley
Thibodeau
English 12

Although sweatshops get a bad name for their conditions, it has been shown and
documented that sweatshops actually benefit people by occupying them with jobs they
wouldn t get anywhere else, as well as help boost the economy. Sweatshops have been
known to boost economies in areas where poverty is an issue. They offer jobs and shelter
from the streets. When someone hears the word sweatshop they think of child labor,
Most people are too focused on the negative side of sweatshops that they can t see the
side that benefits and aids the people of its surroundings. In the grand scheme of things,
The good of sweatshops outweighs the bad. Even though the positive side of
sweatshops outweighs the negative side, their is still an opposing opinion that many
people stand by. They stand on the side regarding sweatshops, the working conditions
they provide and that they should be outlawed. In the article titled Crammed into
squalid factories to produce clothes for the West on just 20p a day, the children forced to
work in horrific unregulated workshops of Bangladesh , Photographer Claudio
Montesano Casillas, documents the horrible yet intriguing conditions of a Garment
Sweatshop in Bangladesh. She states that they produce clothes on just 20P a day, and
are forced to work in horribly unsafe conditions. From this article, you can tell that
Casillas is not for sweatshops. Most of the children in the factory, do not have the
Quotes From Lord Of The Flies By William Golding
Day 1: My day started as any other day. We all got on the plane, on our way too a
place, I forgot the name. Then the next thing, the plane was in flames and we crashed
on the island. I was climbing this hill when I heard this sound, I took the choirboys
with me and we found this boy with a shell and a bunch of other boys crowded around
him. We all introduced ourselves and three of us when off to find food. I was with Ralph
and Simon, this boy, Piggy, wanted to come but I told him no. We found a pig, I was so

got to the fire on the hilltop, guess who was there, that Ralph. He got so mad then we
let the fire go out. We just went to find a pig to eat. Simon didn t eat a piece, I threw a
piece at him. I started yelling at all boys because I gave them food and they didn t eat.
After I calmed down a bit, the hunting group started to reenact the killing of our pig. I
slept good, my stomach was full. I was satisfied. Jack Day 86: After what feels like years,
but actually months. Things have taken a turn for the worst, the boys want me to be
the leader, but i m not sure if I can do it. Ralph doesn t want me to be chief, he thinks
that is a bad idea because I m too reckless and, I want to get off this island as well as
Ralph. He wants to be civilized and make shelters just in case we don t get off this island.
He wants me to help, do I help, no way am I going to do work. Simon can help him, I
really don t care. I just want to do things and not have Ralph tell me what to do. I can t
wait to get off this island and away from Ralph and his pets Simon and Piggy.
Role Of Greek Food In American Culture
Food, we all have it, we all need it. Food is well known, but what about Nepali food?
Nepali food is filled with culture. With many cultures, comes many foods. Food in
Nepal can differ from region to region or from household to household. Momo, Sel
Roti, and Gundruk are important because they connect us to our culture. They are a
major part of festivals, and even our everyday lives. Momo is a popular type of dumpling
that is eaten in Nepal.
Momo is thought to have originally came from Tibet to Nepal by Newar Merchants. (

shape of a circle.
An alternative method is to hand pour the mixture into the boiling oil (Mom). Sel Roti
is similar to a donut, but crispy on the outside and soft on the inside ( Wikipedia ). It is
one of the most widely known foods in Nepali culture. Gundruk is a dish made of dried

prepare Gundruk, vegetables like mustard leaves, radish, cauliflower leaves, and
almost any other eaten green leaf, are cut into small pieces and put into a pot or jar.
Inside the enclosure, they are dried and fermented. Gundruk is usually turned into a
soup, made by boiling the gundruk in water and a little bit of oil, but it is also eaten as a
side dish with rice (Mom). It is believed that gundruk was created to store food for a long
time, but in today s culture, it is a popular food eaten with

  • 2. Who Is King Daniel [2]In the beautiful city of Babylon, there once lived a man named Daniel. [1]He was an advisor to the king. Daniel was different from the other advisors. He believed in the one true God. One day, two of the king s other advisors watched as Daniel diligently prayed to God. [6]They hated Daniel. He was always praying to God for guidance and he was always honest. He wanted to do the right thing. The advisors despised him because of that. Then one day, as they watched Daniel pray, they came up with an evil idea. They would write up a document that would say that no one would be allowed to pray. [5]If they disobeyed this law they would be thrown into the Lion s Den like a piece of meat. [3]Suddenly, one day after the king had signed the document, they caught him defying the law and praying any way. They rushed into his room and dragged him to the king s throne room. [4]Forcing King Darius to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [6]Daniel could barely see anything. He soon heard the sounds of hungry lions around him. He then began praying to God to keep him safe if it was His will. God heard Daniel s prayers and sent an angel to close the snarling mouths of the lions. [2]Throughout the night, none of the lions ever bothered him. Some of them even wanted to cuddle. [3]Unceasingly, Daniel prayed all night. [5] As he sat in the darkness untouched, he knew the advisors would come back in the morning to see if he had been killed, which was what they wanted to happen. The next morning Daniel saw streams of light peering thru the top of the entrance. [4]Hearing a noise above him, Daniel looked up. The king, who had worried about him all night, was prying the top off the cavern. Daniel, he shouted, are you alive? Did the God you believe and trust in protect you? Daniel answered him and told him that God had taken care of him and that he had sent an angel to close the mouths of the lions. The king then sent for help so that they could pull Daniel out of the deep
  • 3. Slave Narrative In History Chapter 3 contains the aftermath of the ending of slavery in Washington and Turnage s lives and how they proceeded their lives as the first freed . Of course, being in charge of their own lives a lot of responsibility came along especially since they had families to care for. For example, finding shelter in safe grounds, and feeding themselves. Washington Turnage had to work several jobs to make living such as waiter, clerk, secretary and the common laboring. The slaves now had to bring the knowledge that they had brought with them from slavery, freed people educated children nurtured a community increasingly surrounded by a racially hostile world, found spiritual solace, gathered their scattering families and took ownership of their lives (pg 95). The church played a key role in uniting African Americans and helping build a community with one another. Church provided faith, jobs and shelter. During this time Fredrick Douglas also contributed knowledge to the community. Although, Washington and Turnage left one hardship for another, they made the best of their freedom and took it with gratitude. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Little did they know, their narratives would help understand slave life in a different context. Which ties to the theme of History, what is the role of the slave narrative in history? and how can there be new history when more documentaries like this are found? Well, the role of slave narratives help us remember and honor what millions of Africans and people suffered. Not only that, helps us visualize the growth of our nation. I personally think when more documentaries like this our found we should embark on investigating those who owned plantations and had pure hatred because, some people aren t over the Confederate times and could still be attacking people of color til this day.
  • 4. Leading Worship Reflection At the beginning of the semester we did an evaluation on how we believed we performed in certain aspects of leading worship. In my first personal growth plan I talked about how I needed to approve in the areas of Humility on the Platform, Clarity in Leadership/Instruction, Transitions, and Instrumental Skills. Through the semester I have seen major improvement in some of these, and then in other not so much. This class though has taught and shown me ways that I can improve in all areas and become a better worship leader. In the aspect of Humility on the Platform I would say that I have improved tremendously over the semester. I believe this improvement came from the experience of leading more this semester then I have in the past. I now do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through using more scripture and prayers, along with times of confession, it has improved each set to where it not only smooth, but edifying to the people. Through the transitions applying to the song it adds content that points to God, and it also helps point the congregation s heart to the gospel. The transitions fill in the holes that the songs sometimes give or leave open. This makes the service more of a teaching tool to the people. There is always room for improvement in transitions that can make a service better every time. Hopefully, I continue to grow in this area more. Lastly, my Instrumental Skills have not improved this semester. I have not had time to work on my piano skills this semester, and have not learned any other instrument. I hope that within the next few months and years that I can set aside time to continuing learning how to play the piano. I know that if I were to lead worship somewhere that this would be a nice skill to have, but this semester has taught me that you can still produce a good set without knowing how to play an instrument. I have learned so much this semester in every aspect and skill that involves leading worship. This class has made me a better leader and improve overall in what leading worship looks like. I am glad that I decided to take this class because it has also helped me understand how important worship is for everyone s relationship with God. This

  • 6. Summary Of The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst is a short story about a man looking back on his childhood and his experience with his little brother, Doodle. The author uses simile to foreshadow the ending of the story and to show the theme. One of the first examples of is when the protagonist s parents decide on a name for their child, They named him William Armstrong, which was like tying a big tail on a small kite, (Hurst) The simile foreshadows the ending because it is exactly what happens in the ending. After the protagonist teaches his brother how to walk, he decides to train Doodle to fight, run, and swim. The protagonist s pride ends up blinding him to his little brother s failing health. Doodle ends up having nightmares, and he becomes sick.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important to the theme because the protagonist s pride puts too much on his small brother. Since the theme of the story is the dangers of pride and how it can go too far. The simile, putting a big tail on a small kite, can be shown as the protagonist pushing Doodle too far. Another simile in the story happens after the protagonist and his family find a dead scarlet ibis that fell from a tree, the protagonist says that, Even death did not mar its grace, for it lay on the earth like a broken vase of red flowers (Hurst) The simile that the author uses shows two motifs that are important to the story. One of the first of terms is nature. It shows how this Scarlet Ibis who driven many miles from its home ends up dying. This is like how in the end of the story, nature ends up separating the two brothers and killing Doodle in the process. Also, the quote touches on another element that is explored quit heavily in the story, death. The line like a broken vase of red flowers can be contributed to this. The color red can be attributed to blood, which in turn can be attributed to

Carthage and Rome both rise to the occasion Carthage, like Rome, was concerned with increasing its power in the region by conquering cities and taking over their land. Carthage used a governing system similar to that of Rome, however they did not require the cities they conquered to become their subjects (Morey, 1901). Carthage had a stable army with permanent general and this enabled them to become quite the fighting force. The First Punic war was the beginning of the conflict between Rome and Carthage. The two fought for possession of Sicily, which at the time was in the hands of Syracuse, Campanian Soldiers and Carthage. Rome was brought into the foray on the island when the King of Syracuse advanced on the Campanian soldiers, forcing them to seek help from Rome. • 10. The Dutch Republic Introduction The Dutch republic came to be when part of the Netherlands separated from Spanish rule in 1579 and gained international recognition in 1648. It was characterized by its high population density (which is a continuity to this day), and its early, high level of urbanization. From the 16th to 18th centuries, the Dutch rose to power comparable to even Britain and France. This was also the period of time when world trade flourished and linked continents, acquiring the name global trade. In fact, the Dutch republic experienced such growth and improvement that the 17th century was the Dutch golden age. During the golden age, trade, military, art, and science flourished. This all led to a domination in trade, production of ships, etc. Western Europe After the split of the Roman Empire, the western half fell as the east prospered. Then in the medieval period, the catholic western European states emerged stronger than ever, causing the distinction between roman catholic/protestant vs eastern orthodox in Europe. Western Europe was made up of competitive states that came to play major roles. The Dutch republic managed to become largely influential and powerful through trade. As previously mentioned, competitiveness was and still is a characteristic of Western Europe. Since the Dutch focused on ship building to support the trade they were beginning to be a part of. Through this time period emerged the Columbian exchange and some European states also took an interest

Hershel waved her off as he handed Rick the horses reins. We will all love to have you. I insist you stay for supper. How else would you meet the rest of the Greene family? I will see you both at six thirty. She and Rick exchanged a look as Hershel ambled toward the house. I like him. Me too, he sighed. The Greene s are great people. I m glad I met them. Oh Rick? My dad was the ambassador to Switzerland and I ve attended four different boarding schools. A ski trip in the Swiss Alps was a given. I can honestly say, I ve never had a friend like you. Biomedical Appliances And The Destruction They Bring Biomedical Appliances and the Destruction They Bring In the ever growing industry of biomedical sciences, many devices have the potential to cause harm to the environment. They have to be treated with such caution and have drastic disposal measures in place to make sure no damage is done to the environment. Yes, these steps are incredibly important with devices such as these, but why use a product with such devastating potential? With today s modern technology and brilliant scientists should put more effort into creating more environmentally friendly biomedical technology whilst still having the same benefits. The world today is ever changing and technology is progressively advancing each and every day. Laura Cabrera wrote an article in which she discusses the effect humans have on the environmentand how the environment affects them. The goal of the article is to discover how biomedical science can be further developed by understanding the environmental impact of humans. Technological advancements have yielded positive economic growth, improved standards of living, and provided new ways of protecting humanhealth. Then the next thing, the plane was in flames and we crashed on the island. I was climbing this hill when I heard this sound, I took the choirboys with me and we found this boy with a shell and a bunch of other boys crowded around him. We all introduced ourselves and three of us when off to find food. I was with Ralph and Simon, this boy, Piggy, wanted to come but I told him no. We found a pig, I was so close to killing it. Simon didn t eat a piece, I threw a piece at him. I started yelling at all boys because I gave them food and they didn t eat. After I calmed down a bit, the hunting group started to reenact the killing of our pig. I slept good, my stomach was full. I was satisfied. Jack Day 86: After what feels like years, but actually months. Things have taken a turn for the worst, the boys want me to be the leader, but i m not sure if I can do it. Ralph doesn t want me to be chief, he thinks that is a bad idea because I m too reckless and, I want to get off this island as well as Ralph. He wants to be civilized and make shelters just in case we don t get off this island. He wants me to help, do I help, no way am I going to do work. Simon can help him, I really don t care. I just want to do things and not have Ralph tell me what to do. I can t wait to get off this island and away from Ralph and his pets Simon and Piggy.
