This document summarizes a training session on using Moodle within New Zealand schools. The morning session will cover course design tools and templates for planning units of work and lessons before uploading content. Participants will learn about different course layouts and designs as well as Moodle tools for resources, tasks, and assessments. The afternoon session will demonstrate Moodle activities and discuss queries from participants, including links to ePortfolios, new Moodle 2 features, and plugins.

Morning Session: Moodle Course Design
• Online tools relevant to planning a course online.
• Templates for planning a Unit of work and planning a lesson before uploading begins.
• Different course layouts and design.
• Moodle tools that are good for each of the Resources, Tasks and Assessment
sections of a course.
• As well as unseen (not hidden) resources/activities, Ways of avoiding the scroll of
death, Navigation, Spicing up your course, Blocks, Incorporating Google Docs ...
Afternoon Session : Once we've completed the morning's topics ... we'll look at
Moodle activities for teachers and discuss participant queries.
