Main image: This is a small mood board of the
different images I could include as
my main image. I decided that I
definitely want to include a close up
image of the character looking
powerful. I am going to use my
retouching skills on Photoshop to
give a professional finish. I also want
my image to be of high contrast. I
am considering having my image in
black and white. I am most likely to
be photographing the female main
character from our trailer.
Fonts:
These are the different
fonts that I am
considering in using. I
want my font to look
professional and stand
out. I am considering
using a bold font so it
stands out. My favourite
font from this small
mood board is the one
on the second font
down. I think that this
one is most suitable as it
stands out and would
work well with the
image. As I intend to
include a few cover lines
it is important that the
text doesn’t distract
from the image too
much.
Colour Scheme:
My colour scheme for my magazine
cover is going to be black, white and
violet. I chose these colours as I think
they work well together. I am also
considering in using yellow. I want my
main image to be in black and white
and my masthead/cover lines to be in
purple. I may think about
incorporating other colours as it is
conventional for a TV magazine to use
bright colours however I want my
magazine to have more of a
sophisticated outcome. If I chose to
changed my colour scheme and use a
coloured image I will need to think
about contrasting colours. An example
of what my magazine could look like is
the top right image.
Layout:

This is the ideal layout of my
cover. It is conventional of a soap
magazine. I don’t want my
magazine to be too over crowded
so I don’t want to include more
than three cover lines down the
left side. I want the issue number
of my magazine to be at the very
top in small print as it is
conventional for it to be placed
there. I also want to include a
strip to grab the readers
attention. I will need to create a
logo for my magazine which will
be on the top left. I intend to use
a puff and pug as it is
conventional of a soap magazine.
I also want my magazine to have
a barcode on it so that it looks
realistic.

When coming up with my main cover lines I looked at different words that were associated
with what my trailer was about.
