The study focuses on the development of a monoherbal laxative formulation using flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum), which is recognized in the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia for its internal laxative properties. The research includes extraction processes, formulation of chewable tablets, and pharmacological screening which demonstrated significant laxative activity, particularly at a dosage of 750 mg/kg in rats. The findings highlight the promising nutraceutical potential of flaxseed and suggest further research in dietary supplement applications.
