This paper discusses an advanced power control strategy for voltage source converters (VSCs) that enhances active-reactive power management using a multivariable proportional-integral controller, demonstrating improved stability and disturbance rejection. It explores the theoretical foundations and presents simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink to validate the efficacy of the proposed method over conventional approaches. Additionally, the paper examines practical implementation issues related to power quality in container cranes and the importance of addressing these concerns during specification and procurement.
