This document summarizes a study on modeling and simulating a 14-bus power system employing a D-STATCOM device to improve power quality. The paper presents the mathematical model of the STATCOM and develops the system model. Simulation results show that the D-STATCOM improves voltage stability at different buses and increases reactive power consumption near its connection point by raising local voltages. In conclusion, the paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the D-STATCOM in enhancing reliability and power quality through simulations that validate the theoretical predictions.
