2. Auditory Learning Style Analysis
The first question I asked was about what learning style everyone preferred the
most. With the results, I got an equal amount of being a visual learner and a
kinesthetic learner. The second question I asked was about why they preferred that
learning style the most. The results showed that people liked to be hands on and
liked to see what was happening and how something should have been done.
The third question I asked was about what learning style everyone preferred the least.
With the results, I learned that everyone preferred the auditory learning style the
least. The fourth question I asked was about why they preferred that learning style the
least. The results showed that people cannot learn by listening and trying to retain

3. The Bonds of a Language Essay
The Bonds of a Language
Amy Tan is the author of several novels including The Joy Luck Club and The
Kitchen God s Wife. She was born in the United States to parents who immigrated to
California from China (Gruber 35). In her article entitled Mother Tongue , Tan
focuses on the English shared between her mother and herself versus the English that
she speaks with everyone else, and how it has affected her outlook on language.
Through her examples, she presents to the audience the obstacles faced by her mother
s limited English. Tan demonstrates that no matter how much someone may change,
the most important things lay back in their roots.
Tan directs this article in a certain way to allow for several people ... Show more

While intriguing the reader, Amy Tan also presents a strong argument.
Tan displays a couple types of argument structures in her article. She gives several
examples of problem solving in her experiences with her mother. If her mother
needed something and her limited English prevented her in any way from
accomplishing that, she would use Amy to assist her. The example of her in the
hospital shows a solution to the problem of people not being able to understand Tan s
mother. To help the doctors to do what her mother was asking, they had to call Amy,
who immediately solved the problem. Another structure used throughout the article
was the spatial structure. Tan comes from a different community having been raised
in a Chinese home. She became immersed in the culture of China in her own home,
learning about the history and heritage of her parents. She later had to learn to
become part of the American culture, which is vastly different. Fortunately, she still
holds a special place in her heart for the language that she speaks with her mother,
which is different from the English she speaks with everyone else. Tan also
demonstrates this idea of encountering new spaces by her experiences with her
mother s stockbroker and at the hospital. She has to do things her mother is
4. Cultural Spheres Of Korean Cinema
Sopyonje and Madame Freedom inhabit two unique cultural spheres of Korean
Cinema. While both films show a glimpse into a traditional Korean world; they
were produced in different contexts. Sopyonje, made in 1993, can be considered a
romanticized nostalgia film that projects an image of a Korea that no longer
exists in present day. The film focuses on the story of a non blood related family
who struggles to make a living by traveling through the Korean countryside
performing pansori at parties and private homes. It follows the lives of a father, his
adopted daughter, and his stepson through the 1930s to the 1960s. Many critics
regarded the film as a revival of pride for South Korean culture. By projecting an
image of Koreanness through the inclusion of traditional elements like pansori,
which is considered an authentically Korean form of singing and the depiction of a
false romanticized Korean countryside the film garnered national success.
Unbeknownst to Director Im Kwon taek Sopyonje would go on to become one of
the most popular films in South Korean history. (Cho) Ultimately this movie s
excitement comes from its Koreanness. Its greatest attraction is that it calls up a
nostalgia for [Korean] culture which cannot be found in a contemporary hectic
lifestyle. These were the words of one of Hae Jong Cho s students in a reflection
essay about Sopyonje. The Koreanness that this student is referring to is the
perceived ability of this film to unite Korean people

6. John Maynard Keynes s Economic Theory And Policy
After...
At the start of the Great Depression, people in all affected countries believed that a
free market based on supply and demand with no government control would deliver
full employment. John Maynard Keynes came up with a theory as a
counterargument: that aggregate demand is the single most powerful force in any
economy. Keynes explains that free markets are not able to balance themselves out
enough to lead to the full employment everyone was waiting for. The 1930s gave rise
to Keynes ideas, especially after the publication of his revolutionary book The
General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money in 1936. Keynesian economics
dominated economic theory and policy after World War II until the 1970s, when the
issue of stagflation introduced itself to a disappointingly unprepared Keynes. (CITE
JAHAN P.54)
Keynes and His Theory
John Maynard Keynes was a well known British economist, and is credited with the
establishment of modern macroeconomics. One must remember that the concept of
macroeconomics already existed, but Keynes addition includes a systematic
approach to aggregate economic phenomena. (CITE SNOWDON/VANE P 13)
While The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money might be his most
famous work, he also had two other important works released before it. The first
was The Economic Consequences of the Peace in 1919, arguing that the Versailles
Treaty would lead to another war in Europe. The second, released just six years
before General Theory, was A
7. Mcdonaldization
McDonaldization : Bringing Benefits or Disadvantages?
Nowadays in every country we see McDonalds. The domination of fast food
restaurants has introduced the ideology of McDonaldization . Companies are using
the concept of McDonaldization to achieve success in the business world. By
implementing the concept of McDonaldization, it has changed the world we see
today. The society has become a consumer society, where people are spending more
and more money. According to Professor George Ritzer, companies applying this
concept are a new means of consumption to consumers (Ritzer, 1998). George Ritzer
discovered that McDonaldization was a phenomenon when he saw the response of
the citizens towards the companies that applies this ... Show more content on

Furthermore, the process of McDonaldization has deeply penetrated into the mass
culture and many aspects of daily life. McDonaldization indirectly introduced a new
culture among the people that include four key components: Efficiency, calculability,
predictability and control. Efficiency such as drive through window or ready made
burger at a fast food joint is meant to get customers in and out fast. Calculability is
an emphasis on large quantities, such as the Big Mac , the Whopper or Biggie
Fries . This has caused the change of the mentality among the people in the United
States to believe that bigger is better . The best example of this assumption is the
increasing amount of Big K Marts and Super Wall Marts. In consequence people
now choose the biggest, even if they know that there are better alternatives with
more quality. Another component is predictability, as everything seems to be
predicted. There will be no surprises among the people because they know what to
expect. For example, a Big Mac tastes the same in Florida, Washington as in New
York City. Unlike other normal restaurant, people could experience surprise as their
soup or steak that they ordered is not done according to your wishes. The predictable
item prevents an item from being diversify into various types of products and thus
create a dull and monotonous society. Ultimately, the McDonaldization introduced a
controlled culture. For example, fast food chains use arrangements such as limited
8. Adversarial System Cooperation
The court component of the justice system does have an adversarial relationship, but
cooperation is a big part of the functionality of our court system. Adversarial
relationships are those that has each group on opposing sides, like the prosecution
and the defense in the court component of the criminal justice system. I agree with
the research on criminal courts that cooperation in necessary in order for the court
component to function. Although this is an adversarial system cooperation is seen
among the prosecution and defense to a point in different aspects of the court
component out of necessity. The adversarial nature of the relationship among these
two particular court room actors (Prosecution and Defense) is shown in during the
trial, their roles in court, and their roles in plea bargaining.... Show more content on

Discovery is a sign of this cooperation. Discovery in criminal court proceedings is
where the prosecution gives the defense any known evidence that may clear the
defendant and obtained witness statements. Both sides are there to mediate and
seek justice for each their own side. All court personnel, including the accused s
own lawyer, tend to be co opted to become agent mediators who help the accused
redefine his situation and restructure his perceptions concomitant with a plea of
guilty. (Cole Gertz, Module 4, page 297). The adversarial role of both parties during
trial is to protect the client. The trial is fought among the defense and prosecution to
present all the facts of a case and to show why the defendant is guilty in the eyes of
the prosecution and why the defendant is not guilty in the eyes of the
9. Analysis Of The Book Scoops
This odd creature approaches, scoops Becky up with one hand, and holds her up
so he can look at her better. His hand wraps easily around her. He brings her closer to
his face and sticks his tongue out to lap up her juices. It is so large it covers her
entire pussy. Her clit throbs with need and she clinches in spasms of need.
Dawng brings her back to investigate her more. He pushes at her entrance with a
finger. Becky moans with anticipation. The finger enters her and he twists it around
inside of her. He shoves roughly deep into her. He callously shoves a second finger
into her. She screams in pain, but still she bucks up against his hand trying to get
more. Strongly orgasming, she soon coats his fingers with her juices.
Dawng pulls his fingers out of her quickly and forces one into her anus. He works
on her, thrusting with his finger vigorously. The pain is intense but she cannot
help her body s responses. She arches up to give better access to her anus. Holding
her tight, he picks up speed. He rapidly shoves his finger repeatedly into her. She
feels her asshole stretching; it has to be tearing, when he forces a second finger
alongside the first one. It is too much for her, the intense pain only succeeds in
arousing her more. Her screams of pain go unheeded as Dawng fiercely shoves and
twists his fingers in her ass. The monster flips Becky over on her stomach. The
fingers seem to work even more powerfully. Becky screeches as she orgasms again.

10. The World Of The Vietnam War
The year is 1965: the skate board is the latest craze in kids toys; the miniskirt
makes its appearance; hypertext is introduced for linking on the Internet; Kellogg s
Pop Tarts pastries are created; Sonny Cher make their first TV appearance in
American Bandstand ; rights activist Malcolm X is shot dead; the Gemini 3 launched
the first US 2 man space flight; and the first United States combat forces arrive in
Vietnam. This was not the start of the Vietnam War since the war actually started in
1955, pitting Communist North Vietnamagainst anti Communist South Vietnam. The
United States believed it had to protect South Vietnam from Communist take over
and is the reason the U.S. supplied South Vietnam with millions of dollars in
military aid as well as with military advisors from the start of the war. Eventually,
the US had no other choice but to send troops to war and it became the first war
Americans opposed publicly and passionately, making the US involvement in the
Vietnam War a shameful venture rather than a noble cause. Although the Vietnam
War was the first televised war, it is unclear if Vietnam War films are able to give
an honest portrayal of the Vietnam War experience, or if truer reality of the war
can be found only in textbooks. The Vietnam War was so much a part of American
life that it could not be ignored, and with war films losing their appeal after World
War II, it s hard to know if the Vietnam War would be actually portrayed on the big
screen. The
11. Similarities And Differences Between Prokaryotic And...
The terms eukaryote and prokaryote were introduced Edouard Chatton in 1925
(Chatton, 1925, cited in Sapp, 2005). Eukaryotes, according to the online Oxford
Dictionaries is a cell in which DNA is arranged in chromosomes that are contained
within a distinct nucleus . The name prokaryotes is also defined by the Oxford
dictionary as an organism that does not contain a distinct nucleus with a membrane .
These two terms highlighted a very important difference between the two cells;
eukaryotic cells had a true nucleus surrounded by a membrane but the prokaryotes
did not. The following essay seeks to compare and contrast typical prokaryotic cells
to typical eukaryotic cells.
Cells can be organised into three domains as stated by Embley and Williams (2015):
Bacteria, Archaea and eukaryotes (Eukarya). This is based on the findings of Carl
Woesse, who in 1985, discovered three domains in which all cellular life on Earth
can be sorted using their ribosomal RNA sequencing. Woesse introduced the
domains as Bacteria, Eukarya and Archaea as a basis for a more accurate form of
classification as opposed to the five kingdom taxonomy (Woesse et al. 1990). From a
Last Universal Common Ancestor, the Bacteria and the Eukaryotes were thought to
have evolved separately. From the Eukarya branch, Archaea branches out. We can use
this to make the assumption that all life arose from said LUCA, Archaea are more
closely related to Eukaryotes than they are to Bacteria, although morphologically,
12. Pablo Ruiz Picasso Essay
Pablo Ruiz Picasso
Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga in 1881. Pablo was the son of a respected art
teacher, and due to his father s influence, young Pablo entered the Academy at
Barcelona at age 14. This was where he painted his first great work, Girl with Bare
Feet . After two years of schooling, Picasso transferred for even for advanced
tutelage. This did not hold Picasso s interest, so instead he spent much of his time in
cafes and in brothels.
Three years later, Picasso won a gold medal for his work, Customs of Aragon .
This work was displayed on exhibit in Picasso s home town. In 1901, Picasso set up
a studio in the northern section of Paris known as Montmartre. Picasso had mastered
traditional forms of art by now. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His work, Two Nudes reflects this attitude.
Cubism soon followed after this. Picasso began experimenting with the many facets
of Cubism. Cubism was developed in stages: analytic, synthetic, hermetic, and
rococo. These techniques were not only useful in painting but in collages as well.
Picasso met Eva Marcelle Humbert, and fell in love with her but the war separated
them and she died in 1915. Picasso worked on Harlequin to cope with the grief of his
lost friend.
In 1917, Picasso involved himself with Diaghilev s Russian Ballet. He worked on
costume and set design for Parade(1917) and while all this was going on Picasso
met his future bride, Olga Kokhloven, who was a dancer for the ballet. The Ballet
gave him inspiration for his next work, Three Dancers . Then something dreadful
happened, a small Spanish town became a test site for some new bombs. Picasso s
work, the Guernica demonstrates the horror, cruelty, and injustice that took place.
On a greater scale, not only does it provide compassion for those lost at Guernica, but
it also illustrates how useless and horrible war truly is. Following that, Picasso
became director of the Prado Gallery in Madrid. World War II blazed on while
Picasso worked in Paris and he worked diligently despite the world around him.
Picasso left his wife in 1931, and following that he had many mistresses that
provided him with inspiration for his works and even did some modeling work for
him. Picasso
13. The Importance Of Primate Intelligence
Primate intelligence correlates to primate cognition which is the study of the
intellectual and behavioral skills of primates (Low). In the book Human Evolution
and Culture, chapter five Human Evolution Biological and Culture states that
primates share a lot of common features with mammals but what makes them
uniquely different than many other mammals is that primates have a wide range of
physical and social traits (86). The social relationships of primates are unique
because just like humans, they relationship begin with the mother and other adults
that the younger dependable primates. The dependency of infant primates offers an
evolutionary benefit that allows infant primates more time to examine and master
the intricate behaviors necessary to survival while enjoying the care and protection
of mature adults. (87) Primates have the privilege of having a large brain the size
similar to body size to learn the culture and the way of life they live. Larger brains
give primates the advantage to obtain an enormous amount of learning and integrate
data. Primates have a special gift in areas of their brain that s dedicated to speech and
language. (94) Primates have the special ability to communicate with each other as
well as with humans and are the only habitual toolmaking animal (96). Although
primates are more cognitively advanced than many other animals/mammals,
researchers and critics still debate on how to define, compare and study intelligence
and the growth of

There are two broad categories of Hip hop dance: new school and old school. Old
school of hip hop dance contains several styles that were created in the 1970s and
1980s, including breaking, locking and popping (Bronner 3). The main element of
breaking dance is movements executed close to the ground. Breaking dance is a
battle between several groups. Dancers use different movements, spins with heads,
leg movements and arm movements. They dance to the rhythms of hip hop music.
Generally speaking, breaking is more suitable for males because it is more
masculine and fiercer. Although popping and locking dances look similar, there
are many differences between them. In locking, dancers maintain a movement for
a while. Main movements in locking contain lock, points, and rollover of the fist.
Popping dance takes use of vibration of body parts according to the rhythm. Main
movements of popping include floating, gliding, and sliding, ticking and robot.
New school hip hop dance includes house, street jazz and other forms that were
created in the 1990s (Bronner 3). New forms of hip hop introduce many elements
of other dance styles, such as jazz, Latin dance and ballet. Generally, they are more
suitable for females. Hip hop has gained popularity among young people in many
countries, such as China and Japan. There are many reasons contributing to its
popularity. Firstly of all, Hip hop dance allows people to
15. Celtic Mythology Research Paper
Trees are silent guards, they are listeners and they hold knowledge mankind has
long forgotten. A culture that once was all across Europe to nearly facing
extinction amazingly survived thousands of years. Celtic Mythology was more
than just whimsical stories to it s people it was a way of life, including tales of these
gods and goddesses who served a purpose of meaning the world and the qualities of
a good person. First, the history of Celtic Mythologytraces back centuries ago. For
example, there is a long history of their people. At their height they were a large
and diverse group that was spread out all across Central Europe. After the Start of
christianity however, the popularity or Celtic went down. Also, scientists have
discovered many different celtic villages. The Hallstatt village in Austria is the
oldest one of its kind ever found and many different celtic artifacts have been found
there. This is why the early stages of Celtic Mythology was known as the Hallstatt
era. Another village in Switzerland called La Tene also had many artifacts uncovered
there and is also is why the second phase of the celtswas known by same name.

believed to have mythical powers and was even used by Saint Patrick to spread the
teachings of christianity. That s just a few of the reasons why it s the national flower
of Ireland. Overall, Celtic culture is still evident today from its
16. The Struggle Among Native Americans In The United States
In the midst of an American Revolution founded upon principles of liberty and justice
for all men, Native Americans joined both sides of the war with hopes of securing
their own safety and freedom. In the end, the U.S. Revolutionary War caused
economic downturn and civil strife among native communities, ultimately making
Indian territory a vulnerable target for westward expansion. The American
Revolutionary War caused economic failure among Native American communities.
Native involvement in the Revolutionary War led to the destruction of towns and
farmland, as their land was often used as a battleground for war. During the 1779
military expedition of Major General John Sullivan against six native nations,

Revolutionary War also caused war among native communities, much of which
involved civil strife and the division of Indian tribes. Due to differing threats that
various Native Americans met, many tribes were separated on either sides of the
Revolution. The war broke the coalition of six native tribes, and pitted many
natives against each other on opposite sides of the battlefield. In the midst of the
Continental Army s war against the Iroquois, a large native tribe located largely in
modern day upstate New York, Officer William Barton mentions the U.S s use of
Indian scouts against their own fellow people. Barton writes about an instant in
which knowing [they] were in the wrong path, [he] sent out a couple of Indians for
the purpose of finding the path, which they did, and returned. While Barton s
writing doesn t show natives shooting at each other in battle, it does display how
some Indians supported the United States effort to destroy other natives and the
homes in which they lived. Many Indians, including the Iroquois sided with the
British for fear of future westward expansion, yet there were also select few like
those in Barton s battalion who joined the Continental Army with hopes that their
future protection would be ensured. Other tribes initially strove for peace, creating
an even greater divide between those who believed joining the war was the best form
of protection, and others who felt that it was not their duty to fight another man s
battles. In a letter to Connecticut governor John Trumbull, a representative of the
Oneida Indian tribe expresses how they are unwilling to join on either side in such a
contest, for we bear an equal affection to both you Old and New England. Many of
these tribes who first requested neutrality were forced into the war, while others who
remained relatively uninvolved had decreasing relations with those who thought it
better to join the Revolution. Even after the war had concluded, Native American
tribes
17. Kyoto Protocol And Global Warming
In December 1997, Kyoto protocol was signed to address global warming
specifically. Global warming is the gradual increase in the average temperature of
the Earth s atmosphere and its oceans due to green house gases emissions. (NRDC,
2005) In the past 100 years, the rate of global warming is unprecedented. In fact,
global warminghas become one of the most challenging environmental problems in
the 21st century. In order to effectively address this issue, international cooperation is
necessary. Through international cooperation, undeveloped countries are able to
overcome financial obstacles in meeting their targets. In addition, it could also
promote worldwide technology sharing, data foundations and public awareness of
climate change.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For starters, modern economy relies heavily on fossil fuels, which is a main
resource that contributes to global warming. Adopting renewable energy might
sharply reduce GHG emissions. However, according to international energy
agency, switching from fossil fuels to low carbon sources of energy will cost $44
trillion between now and 2050 (IEA, 2009). In case 44 trillion is too abstract, 1
trillion dollar can fill up an entire soccer field and stack more than 10 feet high.
This cost could be intimidating for any country. Moreover, the cost also depends on
how long it takes for us to start reducing emissions. The IPCC report showed that
continuing to hold off on reducing emissions could increase costs by 40 percent
(IPCC, 2008) For developing countries, this cost would be a financial burden and a
limiting reagent on GDP growth. Socially, civilian s life quality will be affected by
the GDP reduction. As a result, it becomes more challenging for countries to take
initiative in addressing this problem. The question eventually came down to whom
should bear the astronomical cost? Are we willing to invest in something that might
cost more than its benefits?
Evaluation on its Successfulness
The achievements of Kyoto Protocol have been controversial. Nevertheless, the
agreement has had a mix of success. In order to evaluate its successfulness, we need
data of the emission level of Annex I parties from 1990 to 2012 explicitly. As a
result, the United States did not ratify the

I read the book The Pearl by John Steinbeck. This book was wrote in 1947. The
main character is Kino. Kino has a wife Juana and a infant son Coyotito. They live
in a modest brush house by the sea. One morning a scorpion stings Coyotito.
Hoping to protect their son, Kino and Juana rush him to the doctor in town. The
doctor turns them away because they are poor natives who cannot pay enough.
Later that same morning, Kino and Juana take their family canoe, an heirloom, out
to the estuary to go diving for pearls. Juana makes a bandage for Coyotito s wound,
while Kino searches the sea bottom. Juana s prayers for a large pearlare answered
when Kino surfaces with the largest pearl either of them has ever seen. Kino lets out
a triumphant yell at his good fortune. In the afternoon, the whole neighborhood
gathers at Kino s brush house to celebrate his find. Kino names a list of things he
will do with his new wealth. Including a education for his son. The neighbors
wonder if he is foolish or wise to harbor such ambitions.
Toward evening, the local priest visits Kino to bless him in his good fortune and to
remind him of his place within the church. Shortly after, the doctor arrives,
explaining that he was out in the morning but has come now to cure Coyotito. He
gives a powdered capsule and promises to return in an hour. While the doctor is
gone Coyotito grows violently ill, and Kino decides to bury the pearl under the floor
in a corner of the brush house. The doctor returns and feeds

21. Importance Of Social Justice In The Classroom
Over the last eight weeks, we have visited and deeply discussed many topics that
surround social justice in the classroom. These topics have ranged from social
justice in the world to how to create a socially just classroom and everything in
between. In class, there has been a few times where it has been uncomfortable
because the topics can bring out many opinions in the room. Many people in the room
shared their opinions, including me, which brought up many other discussions. In
this essay, I will be discussing our navigations through the social justiceissues that
classrooms face by talking about the key points of our class throughout the last eight
weeks. First, I will start out by talking about the importance of a socially just
education. As our world becomes more diverse every day, as teachers we need to
understand how to be mindful of every student s beliefs and culture. In order to give
every student, the education they deserve, teachers need to teach as if everyone is the
same, not to treat one culture better than the other. It is in human nature to divide up
into groups of people that are like you, so naturally this would happen in a classroom.
I hope that in the new age of teaching, that myself and other teachers will break this
notion apart. Cultures should be brought together in order to understand one another
and their views. Teaching is not always about curriculum, but rather an introspective
look on bringing groups of students together to learn as a whole.
22. God, Science, And Imagination
Wendell Berry in God, Science, and Imagination condemns the central theme
nonexistence of God of Steven Weinberg s essay Without God . The critique is all
about his discontentment of Weinberg s argument and says it is just Weinberg s
opinion and everyone has right to put forward his/her opinion but he refuted the
notion of nonexistence of immaterial soul and God when scienceis just to prove or
disprove the material existence of the universe.
From the very beginning the author puts forward his disagreement with Professor
Weinberg s argument and refuted his claims. The author says even when Weinberg is
saying he doesn t mean to humiliate the association of people with religion his
argument is indeed a humiliation. Standing in the middle of fundamentalists of
science and fundamentalists of religion, the author censures Weinberg s act trying to
disturb the orderness among those who value religion. Referring the example of life
after death, Berry reproduces and questions the citation more and more of us know
that after death there is nothing . If anyone doesn t know, does it mean there is
nothing? In Berry s words Weinberg tries to power his opinion like those politicians
in the battle of chair, or in the field of technology, science and religion. The author
denounces Weinberg s act of total humiliation to the fundamentalists of religion. He
believes the argument must be conducted in absence of material evidence which
stands as proof in lab or court and it can neither
23. Francis Bacon as Shakespeare
Francis Bacon as Shakespeare For almost four hundred years the question of who
truly wrote the works attributed to William Shakespeare has been studied
meticulously by many scholars and historians. There have been many well qualified
contenders, including Sir Francis Bacon. Because of the incredible number of
coincidences between Shakespeare and Bacon, it is obvious that Bacon wrote
Shakespeare. Firstly, the actor William Shakespeare, who is the supposed author of
Shakespeare s works, could not have written them. He had no formal education
after thirteen, was from a small provincial town, was a professional actor, had two
daughters who were illiterate, didn t mention any of his works in his will, and
whose only surviving handwriting is six signatures on legal documents
(Rubenstein 69). Shakespeare is considered one of the greatest authors in history,
and without a formal education the intricacy of his work would be impossible. It
should also be put in consideration that many of Shakespeare s works were not only
published but edited after his death. From the publication of The Taming of the
Shrew in 1594 to the publication of the First Folio in 1623, 4,936 new lines were
added to the plays, a majority of which were added posthumously (sirbacon). This
in itself is evidence enough to disprove Shakespeare entirely. Unlike William
Shakespeare, Sir Francis Bacon was very well qualified to have written Shakespeare s
works. Bacon was a highly educated Member of
24. How Did Sparta Won The Peloponnesian War
The Peloponnesian War: Athenian Victory American poet James A. Baldwin once
said, People are trapped in history and history is trapped in them. By this he means
that people cannot escape history and that history is ultimately shaped by humans. In
addition, history is a continuous cycle of repeated events, but what happens if one of
those events never occurred? The ancient Athenians and the ancient Spartans fought
for a total of twenty seven years in the Peloponnesian War. Eventually the Spartans
defeated the Athenians, but what if the ancient Spartans had never won the
Peloponnesian War? Although Athens s potential win in the Peloponnesian War
could offer benefits to Ancient Greece, Spartas victory in the Peloponnesian War is

In 404 B.C., the Spartans had won the Peloponnesian War by defeating the Athenian
naval fleet and by starving the Athenians (Buller). Sparta s victory in war then led to
various restrictions in Athenian government. Nevertheless, Athenian ideas of
democracy still spread throughout the world, despite the death of Athenian Empire.
In addition, Sparta s successful campaign in the Peloponnesian War enabled Athenian
philosophy to thrive, ultimately aiding Alexander the Great in his worldwide
conquest of territory. On the contrary, however, if Alcibiades had continued his
expedition to Syracuse, resulting in the potential Athenian win in the Peloponnesian
War, the Athenian Empire could expand its influence by conquering lands once
controlled by the Peloponnesian League. Athenian leaders could also use the spoils
from the war to beautify Athens (Kagan). Though Greece could grow as an
international power, Athenian philosophy would decline due to the perfect and ideal
environment Athenians are living in. This shift from philosophy could cause
Alexander the Great to fail as a militaristic strategist, and it could potentially terminate
the great Macedonian Empire. The death of this empire could also destroy Hellenistic
culture, potentially sabotaging future empires , such as the Roman Empire, cultural
heritage. All in all, the ancient Spartan victory in the Peloponnesian War is the best
decision because it preserves Athenian philosophy, Hellenistic art and culture, and
Alexander the Great s militaristic and cultural
25. Causes Of The Industrial Revolution
By 1750, there was not much doubt that if any country was going to triumph in being
the first industrial power it would be England (Hobsbawm 29). However, several
factors were responsible for England s emergence as an industrial power. Some of the
contributing factors for the Industrial Revolution were: the increasing importance of
imperial goods such as cotton, cultural traditions that stemmed from the Renaissance
and the Reformation, population change, and a government willing to subordinate all
foreign policy to its economic ends. Socially, the Industrial Revolutionin England
changed exponentially with the growing drift between the class hierarchy. Instead of
reverting to social revolution as occurred in France, England experienced political
reform during the Industrial Revolution that would become a symbol of hope for
thriving countries. There has been much speculation on the exact reason the
Industrial Revolution began in England in the late 18th Century, but certain
components are undisputed for the Revolution s occurrence there. Initially, Britain
already had a large, developed supply of coal and iron which gave the British a start
in mass metallurgy (Perry 286). There also was a surplus of capital available for
investments to be made in new industries; however, these funds came from wealthy
landowners and merchants who had grown rich in commerce through the slave trade
(Perry 287). With the start of their own capitalist industrialization, England

You might want to try a model with a removable top that can be placed directly on
the toilet when your child is ready. Encourage your child to sit on the potty chair
with or without a diaper. Make sure your child s feet rest firmly on the floor or a
stool. Help your child understand how to talk about the bathroom using simple,
correct terms. You might dump the contents of a dirty diaper into the potty chair to
show its purpose, or let your child see family members using the toilet.
Schedule potty breaks
If your child is interested, have him or her sit on the potty chair or toilet without a
diaper for a few minutes several times a day. For boys, it s often best to master
urination sitting down, and then move to standing up after bowel training is
complete. Read a potty training book or give your child a special toy to use while

27. Child Labour In China
How would you feel if your child was forced to work every day just for your family
s survival? Child labour is work that exploits children mentally and physically, as
well as keeping them away from school. The International Labor Organization
estimates that 215 million children between the ages of 5 and 17 currently work
under conditions that are considered illegal, hazardous or extremely exploitative.
China is one of the main culprits. A recent study by the China Labour Bulletin in
2000, indicated that there were approximately 11,575,000 children at work between
the ages of 10 to 14 in China. This violates many articles from the Convention of
Rights of The Child. For example, article 32 states that, You have the right to
protection from work that harms you, and is bad for your health and prevents you
from receiving an education. If you work, you have the right to be safe and paid
fairly. (The Convention of Rights of The Child, В§ 32, 1990). Child labour in
China is a major problem that needs to be resolved. This essay will examine how
child labour affects many misfortunate children, whilst demonstrating how child
labour is still an uprising trend, one that needs to be changed. Showcasing why it s
so important to actively change our worldview on the exploitation of child labour,
for the greater good of future generations. Undeniably, there are many reasons why
child labour occurs. The most common reason why is because of the lack of money

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Pediatric
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) happens when acid from the stomach flows
up into the tube that connects the mouth and stomach (esophagus). When acid comes
in contact with the esophagus, the acid causes soreness (inflammation) in the
esophagus. Over time, GERD may create small holes (ulcers) in the lining of the
esophagus.
Some babies have a condition called gastroesophageal reflux. This is different than
GERD. This causes your baby to spit up breast milk, formula, or food shortly after a
feeding. Reflux is common in babies younger than 2 years and usually gets better
with age. Most babies stop having reflux by age 12 14 months. Vomiting and poor
feeding that lasts longer than 12 14 months may be symptoms of GERD.

Did the Indian Mutiny of 1857 create the British Raj?
The Indian Rebellion of 1857, which was also called the Indian Mutiny, or the War

whether this lead to the formation of the British Raj, will be explicitly explored in

There was a great deal of racial distrust between the British and Indians living in
India at the time of the British Raj. Moreover, many Indians despised the English,
they felt that they were only concerned about their own Industrial Growth this made
them uneasy with the new Alien Rule . Many were unhappy with the rapid cultural
changes imposed by the British. They worried that Hindu and Muslim would be

there were a number of other underlying causes for the rebellion.
The Indian soldiers were believed to be under a double rule , both a military and
religious rule, which meant the two often came into conflict, causing them vast
problems. One of these problem was the cause of The Great Rebellion. The main
reason the Indian Sepoys mutinied against their British commanders was because
they had heard that the newly issued rifle cartridges were greased with pig and cow
fat, making them unacceptable for both Hindu and Muslim soldiers. This led to a
monumental outbreak, as the Muslims and

Abstract IP Spoofing is a serious threat to the legitimate use of the Internet. By
employing IP spoofing, attackers can overload the destination network thus
preventing it from providing service to legitimate user. In this paper, we propose an
inter domain packet filter (IDPF) architecture that can minimize the level of IP
spoofing on the Internet. A key feature of our scheme is that it does not require global
routing information. IDPFs are constructed from the information implicit in Border
Gateway Protocol (BGP) route updates and are deployed in network border routers.
We establish the conditions under which the IDPF framework correctly works in that
it does not discard packets with valid source addresses. We show that, even with
partial deployment on the Internet, IDPFs can proactively limit the spoofing
capability of attackers. In addition, they can help localize the origin of an attack

Yukio Mishima uses visual imagery of the ocean and the crashing waves around
the island to help describe the peaceful or violent nature of the sea. The author then
uses similes and metaphors to relate Shinji to the ocean. This helps express Shinji
as being a strong character who embraces nature. Nature is described to be calm
and serene. The use of personification was used to demonstrate how Shinji had
become close to nature as one would a human being. Nature is what comforts
Shinji since it provides him with his job, money, and food. Once Hatsue s father
Terukichi offers Shinji a chance to marry Hatsue, Shinji learns that the sea is also
a place for exploration and trials. Shinji displays his fearless character by jumping
into the typhoon raged sea to attach a rope to a buoy. Yukio Mishima uses the motif
of the crashing waves to show how Shinji s feelings sync with the raging fury of
the storm and his love for Hatsue rages as well. The storm symbolizes Shinji s
longing to be with Hatsue. Like a violent storm Shinji is angry and depressed
because he could not see his lover. The rain could symbolize his tears and lament
while the power and vigor of the storm could show his growing love for Hatsue. The
perilous sea was a fitting arena for Shinji to demonstrate his qualities of strength,
endurance, courage, and self sacrifice. Mishima s detailed descriptions of

Falls are very common among nursing home residents. Residents in nursing homes
are more likely to fall due to their age, chronic health conditions, medication, or

care every day in nursing homes know firsthand how critical falling can be to the

the Grauballe Man is considered to be one of the most well preserved body of all

of violence indicating that the man was murdered rather than dying of natural causes.
Heaney s poem indicates his preoccupation with the body because it evokes him of

He connects the Grauballe Man with a famous sculpture in order to connect one
thing with another. Heaney states that, hung in the scales with beauty and atrocity:
with the Dying Gaul too strictly compassed. Dying Gaul is a Hellenistic sculpture
that realistically depicts the pain and suffering experienced by a dying man, the
root of the reference is that the pose of the sculpture reminiscences the death
position of the bog man. Heaney uses the allusion of Dying Gaul in order to make
the reader develop the idea of the unification of artifice and nature, which reveals
the unique characteristics of human beings. Additionally, the Grauballe Man itself,
is also an allusion. The allusion of the Grauballe Man exemplifies the brutal
history that has happened in the North. The Grauballe Man personifies the
sacrifices for religious excursions in Northern Ireland during The Troubles.
Furthermore, the cured wound opens inward to a dark elderberry place exemplifies
that the open wound will forever be exposed to the brutality and the violence that is
happening in Northern Ireland. However, it is very ironic because the wounds of
the bog body can never be cured because the body cannot develop or heal itself

Affirming the consequent can be derived in the form of if P then Q where P is the

but the bad guys, nobody had guns. They were just shooting them one by one... And
I ll tell you what, you can say what you want, but if they had guns, if they were

reconstructing this example as an argument with premises and conclusion it would

would have been much different (Q). P2) The victims might have survived (Q). C)
Therefore France should allow their citizens to carry guns

A cross cultural investigation into change blindness.
Abstract
Cross cultural differences in change blindness has been a topic of interest to
psychologists in recent times. The literature shows a trend in perception that Eastern
individuals note more details of the background whereas Western individuals tend to
focus more on central objects. The change blindness phenomenon also follows this
trend in the literature with Eastern individuals being more observant of background
changes and Western individuals being more observant of foreground changes. In this
study, the participants took part in a change blindness task that included both
foreground and background trials. A repeated measures ANOVA was conducted on
the results and it was found that there was a significant difference in accuracy scores
between Chinese and English participants. Post Hoc analysis concluded that Chinese
participants were significantly better at the background trial and that English
participants were significantly better at the foreground trial.

Differentiation is all of these and more. As a student in the class I learned about the
different teaching philosophies, I learned what may fit me is it progressivism.
Teaching is a balance of science and artistry. Taking the information and creating
lessons to engage and impart knowledge to students who are reluctant learners and
show them that they have the power of change within them. I believe it is important
in guiding the development of the children as individuals and help them mature into
thoughtful adults who continue to learn.
Worldview philosophy of Life When we hear the world school or teaching or just
discussing education, we may hear teaching is a difficult job or why other jobs get
paid more than teachers especially when teacher deals with students every day. In
1982 in regards to the characteristics in the educational landscapes, Henry Giroux
noted there were severe financial cutbacks, shrinking job markets, and massive
teacher layoffs (p.87) However, some of these issues are still going on as of today.
Many teachers go on strike or just getting layoff because the jobs just do not want to
pay the staffs or a financial cut due to the economy. In my community I listen how an
ex teacher decided to leave her job because she was spending more money on
students material

43. Purpose Of The Townshend Act
The Townshend Acts were a series of acts named after Charles Townshend, that
were passed by the British in 1767. The act placed a tax on all goods that the
colonies imported from Britain. Some of these taxed goods were glass, paint, paper
and tea. Charles Townshend believed that the bad behavior of the colonists made it
more important to keep an army in the colonies. Because of that, he proposed the
Townshend Actsto the Parliament.
The purpose of the Townshend Acts were to increase the revenue earned in the
colonies. The revenue would be used to pay governors and judges, so that they will
remain loyal to Britain. The British empire taxed British America because they were

In the Boston Tea Party, colonists disguised as Native Americans destroyed an entire
shipment of tea sent by the British East India Company. The colonists boarded the
ships, and threw the entire shipment of 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. This
was done, because the colonists protested against the tea act.
The colonists objected to the Tea Act because they believed that the act had violated
their rights as Englishmen. Other protestors had successfully prevented the unloading
of tea in three other colonies. The Royal Governor refused to allow the tea to return
to Britain. Because of that, they had to somehow remove the tea from the ship, or
prevent the ship from going back to Britain. The British thought that they could trick
the colonists into buying taxed tea by making it so cheap, but they were not fooled.
The colonists were also mad at Britain because they didn t wanted any taxes, and the
British taxed the colonists on

The effects of war as a theme in W.B.Yeats s Easter 1916 and An Irish Airman
Foresees His Death Easter 1916 and An Irishman Foresees His Death are poems
which were written by William Butler Yeats. Easter 1916 was written to relive the
Easter Rising, an event which occurred in Ireland during Easter in the year 1916 to
confirm its independence and national identity from British. An Irishman Foresees
His Death was written as a tribute to Major Robert Gregory who had died while
fighting for his country during World War I. Although both the poems focuses on
war yet the perception viewed on war is different. Therefore, both of these poems
will be compared with the consequences of war as the theme of the poem and based
on the patriotic emotions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the perception of war in Easter 1916 it was a patriotic and collective force
especially fighting for their nation. However, in An Irish Airman Foresees His
Death, the Irishman though he was patriotic he makes war sound as though they
had to go out of compulsion or was forced to go. Moreover the airman flew in the
sky not only to fight but also to fulfill his desire. Those that I fight I do not hate,
Those that I guard I do not love (Yeats, 1918). There is deep irony in this statement
because Yeats says that those people who fight for his country and people are the
courageous man whom the poet worships and he hates those people who always try
to rule and make other people to follow them. This statement signifies Yeats hatred
towards British country that conquered and ruled Ireland. Although they had
positive thoughts towards Germany they were insisted to revolt against by the
British. In Easter 1916, British colonized Ireland and harsh anti Catholic law were
passed upon Irish people, that led to increase in Irish Nationalism and it let to revolt
in. So in this context, Yeats is talking about the British for being too offensive and it
makes the people wonder how many Irish people suffered and had been killed during
World War I. Around thirty five thousand Irish died in the First World War among one
hundred forty

49. Gap Five Forces
Five Forces Model is a framework used in the analysis of industry structure and
profitability. This model evaluates the ability of company to assess their standing in
the industry. Understanding the industries is essential for any firm to be successful.
This model evaluates the risk of entry by potential competitors; rivalry among
established companies; substitute products; bargaining power of buyers and
bargaining power of suppliers.
Risk of entry by potential competitors
It is not difficult to enter the clothing industry and consumer switching costs are low,
therefore, companies face many competitors who taking the same private label and

This gives Gap Inc. power to lower the production cost and it allows Gap to be
responsive to quick changes in fashion trends.
Bargaining Power of Buyers
Since there are various competitors and substitutes in the apparel industry, buyers
have variety products that they can choose. Consumer s switching costs therefore
are low as there are large among of different brand name in the market, such as
Target, Wal Mart, Abercrombie amp; Fitch and J.Crew etc. Hence, companies have
to work hard to retain the consumers through differentiation of their products or cost
leadership. For instance, majority of buyers were willing to pay for Gap s
moderately priced clothing. On the average, the price of the products which produced
by Gap Inc. s was lower than Abercrombie amp; Fitch, such as the price range of
man s tee was US$30 $40 while Gap offered US $ 19.5 29.5 for the same type of
products. Consumers therefore have some power but not high in apparel industry, due
to the low switching costs.
In clothing industry, risk of rivalry among existing firms and threat of substitute
products are high; bargaining power of buyers are moderate; threat of new entrants
and bargaining power of suppliers are low.

The Positive Government Did you know that the government has helped over
306,804,000 (Jeffrey) people and families just from the last four years alone? Since
1789, the government has been finding ways to try and help citizens deal with
poverty and other economic crisis . From creating the Constitution and abolishing
slavery, the government has started to create programs to help certain people and
families overcome other rising issues. The government has been successful in
creating these programs that support the needs of the citizens who require them.
People would suggest that the government has affected society in a negative way but,
different credibilities would beg to differ. The government has influenced society in a
positive way by creating programs such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI),
General Public Assistance (GPA) and Social Securityto help citizens conquer poverty.
In the 1930s, Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected as our 32nd president. One of his

Travis, who considered him the bravest of the brave in the cause of Texas. Smith
carried Travis letter from the Alamo on February 15, 1836. On March 13, General
Sam Houston dispatched Smith and Henry Karnes back to San Antonio to learn the
status of the Alamo. If living, Houston reported to Thomas Jefferson Rusk, Smith
would return with the truth and all important news. Smith returned with Susanna W.
and Angelina E. Dickinson. Houston first assigned Smith to the cavalry, but later
placed him in charge of recruits with the rank of captain. During the San Jacinto
campaign, he captured a Mexican courier bearing important information to Antonio
LГіpez de Santa Anna. On April 21, 1836, Smith and Houston requisitioned one or
more axes, with which Houston ordered Smith to chop down Vince s Bridge,
reportedly to prevent the retreat of the Mexican army. Smith accomplished the
mission and reported to Houston before the battle of San Jacinto. It was Smith that
Houston entrusted Santa Anna s orders to General Vicente Filisola to evacuate
Texas. After San Jacinto, General Rusk continued to send Smith out as a scout.
After having been absent from the army for the first two weeks of July, he was
falsely reported as captured by the Mexicans. During this period his family,
rendered destitute by the war, was living in Columbia, where it had apparently had
some dealings with Santa Anna , who was being held at the nearby port of Velasco.
On November 11, 1836, the Texas Congress granted Smith the property of RamГіn
MГєsquiz on the northeast corner of San Antonio s Military Plaza as a reward for
his military service. Nevertheless, Smith and his family stayed in Columbia. He
resigned his commission in the army, but raised and commanded a group of Texas
Rangers that on February 17, 1837, defeated a band of Mexicans at Laredo. Soon
thereafter he resigned from ranger service and moved to Richmond, where he died

Restriction Enzyme mapping of a plasmid
Aim
To isolate cloned recombinant plasmid pAB2 from a bacterium culture known as E.
coli, the plasmid contained a virus called baculovirus and an enzyme called
restriction endonuclease was used to cut the circular plasmid DNA. The enzyme was
used to determine which fragment was cloned from the baculovirus. The aim is to
remove the plasmid pAB2 from E. coli and correlate the enzyme restriction
endonuclease for cutting of the circular plasmid DNA, therefore this gives the ability
to determine which fragment has been cloned.
Introduction:
Recombinant plasmid pAB2 was isolated from a culture of E. coli, this contained an
insert of baculovirus. The restriction enzyme called restriction endonuclease was
used to cut the circular plasmid DNA, allowing us to identify which fragment has
successfully been cloned from the insert of baculovirus. The agarose gel
electrophoresis was performed using Gelled in order to utilize the DNA in gel, this
binds to the DNA and fluoresces under UV light.
The restriction enzymes are known to belong to a wide class of enzymes which are
classified as nucleases. There are exonnucleases and endonucleases, the
endonucleases are also known as restriction enzymes which cut the DNA molecules
at a certain point by recognition of 6 base pair sequence. DNA cloning depends on
the restriction enzyme digest to allow the DNA to
