Ryan Pineda attended the MLA annual meeting and summarized the sessions and lessons learned. They attended sessions on welcoming addresses, keynote speeches on the future of work and nursing resources, and presentations from EBSCO, Ovid, and Elsevier on their nursing databases. The meetings emphasized that the future favors creative, empathetic thinkers and highlighted the role of libraries in evidence-based nursing and achieving magnet status. Pineda reflected that medical librarians play an important role by providing high-level services and resources, and must adapt to remain relevant by embedding in their communities and being proactive in their outreach.
