Maggi noodles was banned in India in 2015 after tests found lead and MSG levels that exceeded limits. Samples from Gorakhpur and Kolkata corroborated the findings. Maggi was banned for violating regulations on lead and MSG amounts as well as for mislabeling packaging that claimed "No added MSG" despite containing it. In June 2015, Nestle recalled Maggi noodles from markets and used social media to regain popularity, insisting the noodles were safe after further tests. However, the incident destroyed Maggi's reputation due to misleading consumers and false claims on packaging.
