In the early 90's, many multinational companies entered Indian market to change the taste of
the nation. Maggie is one among them which achieved success. In the early 80's, the company
distributed the noodles in schools for free for promotion.
After getting success, the company launched many variants such as ATTA noodles, CUP noodles
which too became successful.
PRESENT
The trouble started when Lucknow Food ministry tested a sample of Maggi and found the
presence of lead and MSG (Monosodium glutamate) beyond its permissible limit and
immediately suspended the manufacturing and sell of the product temporarily.
India's Food minnitry (FSSAI) asked to stop manufacturing and selling the product. As a result, all
other states within a few days followed it. At the present scenario, there is nothing called Maggi
in India.
FUTURE
Nestle has already taken its very popular out of Indian Market. However the company still claims
that Maggi is completely safe for consumption.
