4. Skyscraper greenhouse also known as vertical farming, is a practice
of producing fruits and vegetables in vertically stacked layers .
WHY VERTICAL FARMING ?
 Vertical farming holds the promise of addressing
environmental issues by enabling more food to
be produce with less resources use.
 Minimisation of water requirement (through
water recycling)
 Deforestation and desertification caused by
agricultural encroachment on natural biomes
would be avoided.
 Reduce the need for new farmland due to
overpopulation ,thus saving many natural
resources .

future plan once we reach our

This is our plan, we will start
our project with a 2 story
building 25 feet approx with
vertically stack hydroponic
setup. Once we reach our
target we will start adding up .

6. • We will cover our building with cellular
polycarbonate sheets which will allow the
sunlight to come in and stay for a long
period . These sheets will protect the crops
from getting excess heat .
• Our building is 25feet which is 625 per sq.
feet , these polycarbonate sheets will cost
us 200inr per sq. feet .
• So the total cost for installation of these
sheets will be 1,25,000 . Cellular polycarbonate sheet .

7. Some techniques and revolutionary ideas
involved in our plan :-
• Hydroponic system
It is a system which supplies nutrients rich
water to plants and using this technique will
make our farming soil less framing .
It involves less water also it recycles water .
We can use the same water for 1 month .
It helps crops to grow faster than the
traditional farming i.e 25times faster .
Uses 98% less water than traditional farming .

8. THIS IS HOW WE ARE GOING TO PLANT, THESE
STACKS WILL NOT COST US MUCH .WE WILL
NEED 12 STACKS 4 ON THE CORNERS AND
TWO IN THE MIDDLE ON EACH FLOOR . ONE
STACK IS FOR 2000 SO 24000 FOR 12 .

9. • We will use rooftop rainwater
harvesting system , rain water will
be captured through rooftop and
then stored in reservoirs.
• All this process would require a lot
of power for that we will use solar
panels which would help in the led
lighting, cooling system and other
power sources.
