Many people look at the Old Testament and see a God that is only condemning and unloving God. However, when they look at the New Testament they see a God that is loving, merciful, gracious and forgiving. These and other questions should be answered in the sermon tomorrow. I have never heard a sermon like this, let alone given one. Jesus spoke of hell more than anyone else in the Bible. Why? Come and hear.

Gods Love Is Greater Far
God's love is described as unmerited, unlimited, unquenchable, and unchangeable. God loves us even when we sin, no matter what we've done, and continues to love us even when we make mistakes. God forgives us when we repent and wants us to love him in return. The document then discusses how God had humanity in mind since creating the world, by establishing Israel and the lineage of Jesus to save humanity from sin. It notes God was thinking of us when he sent Jesus to die on the cross to save us, and that he continues to think of us now and will have us in mind on judgment day.

Esta lição é uma oportunidade para discutirmos um assunto multo mal interpretado no contexto cristão, que é o fato de algumas pessoas pensarem que o conhecer Jesus é ter a nossa vida mudada em todas as áreas, como se Deus tivesse o dever de transportar-nos deste mundo para um outro mundo onde muitas coisas maravilhosas que desejamos seriam reais. No entanto, a nossa fé não nos tira do mundo após nos convertermos; ao invés disso, permanecemos vivendo sob as mesmas circunstâncias. O propósito de Deus não é nos tirar do mundo, mas nos livrar das ações do maligno (Jo 17.15), Sendo assim, a vida eterna não significa estar fora da realidade deste mundo, mas conhecer o único Deus verdadeiro (Jo 17.3).

- 2. Objective of Lesson 1. To show that God has always been a loving and gracious God, even in the old testament. 2. To show a correct & balanced view of God. 3. To show the greatest sacrifice of all.
- 3. O.T. Misconceptions of God ✴The God of the old testament just wants to destroy you. ✴He is angry and in His anger He floods the whole earth and kills everybody. ✴He is not loving, He is not gracious.
- 4. GOD in the O.T. was merciful and gracious. ✓Genesis 2:7-18 ✓He places Adam in a garden in which He prepared. ✓Do not eat of the tree of good and evil (vs.16-17) ✓Adam and Eve Sin (3:6-7) ✓Genesis 3:22-24 ✓God prevents man from the tree of life!
- 5. Genesis 6:5-6 ‣ God is saddened at wickedness of man. ‣ He is sorry that He made them. ‣ He is grieved in His heart. ‣ Does this sound like someone who is excited to destroy what He created?
- 6. God and Moses • Moses does not want to lead (Exodus 3:1-11) • Note vs. 11 But Moses said.. • Moses breaks the tablets of stone (Exodus 32:19). • Moses sons not circumcised (Exodus 4:24-27) • Moses and the rock (Numbers 20:8-12, Exodus 17:6)
- 7. A correct view of GOD • Exodus 34:6 & Numbers 14:18 • God is the Creator of the creation, He does not owe us an explanation or why to everything (Deut. 28:29; Rom. 9:20-21). • Romans 11:22 • 2 Peter 3:1-11 (note vs. 9, 15)

A correct view of GOD • Joel 2:13 And rend our heart and not your garments “Now return to the LORD your God, for HE is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil. • God is holy, we can only be with Him if we are holy! The blood of Christ Jesus makes us holy. We still have to live holy lives if we are to enjoy the blessing of His Son shed blood (1 John 1:5-10; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Revelation 1:5). • Romans 6:1-4
