This document discusses how to be truly successful by putting God first in five areas of life: 1) Give God the first hour of each day through prayer and Bible study. 2) Give God the first day of the week by attending church services and remembering Jesus through communion. 3) Give God the first portion of your income through regular donations. 4) Give God the first consideration in every decision. 5) Give God the first place in your heart by living according to his will above all else. It encourages the reader to become a disciple of Jesus in order to find success.

2. Do You WANT SUCCESS?
• In wanting to live life best, we often fail to
put first things first. Jn. 10:10; 1 Tim. 4:7-8
• There is a time to learn and then the time to
do what we learn. Eccl. 3:1; Mt. 28:18-20;

• Let us today with open hearts seek to truly
succeed in putting first things first in our
lives for Jehovah!

3. Give God
the FIRST HOUR of the Day!
• When I wake up I will what? Psalm 5:1-3
• Pray to the Lord, converse with Him!
Psalm 55:17; 119:147-148
• You say, “I walk with the Lord,” How?
James 2:12; Hebrews 13:15
– Give thanks…
– Praise Him…
– Ask for help/guidance… Matthew 7:7
– Confide in the Lord… Philippians 4:6-7
• Start off your day right!

4. Give God the FIRST DAY of
the Week!
• What’s so special about Sunday?
– It is the Lord’s day! Revelation 1:10
– He arose from the grave on this day! Mt. 28:1-8
– It’s the day Christ’s church was built! Acts 2
– It’s the day Christians are commanded to
remember Christ with the Lord’s Supper until
He comes! Acts 2:42; 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:17-26
– We must obey all things Christ has
commanded! Matthew 28:20

5. Give God the FIRST PORTION
of your pay!
• Why must God come first? Matthew 6:33
• It’s a test, do you really love Him with your
all? Mark 12:30; Heb. 13:16; 2 Sam. 24:24
• It’s commanded. 1 Cor. 16:1-3
– Lay aside as you prosper so you can give on
the first day of the week.
• To give as YOU purpose in your heart…
2 Corinthians 9:7 …cheerfully!
• Has God ever accepted “leftovers”? No!

6. Give God
the FIRST CONSIDERATION
in every decision!
• Why? To have GOOD success! Josh. 1:7-8
• Ask God for success! Nehemiah 1:11
• Consider God FIRST… Proverbs 16:1, 3, 9
• God’s counsel WILL stand! Proverbs 19:21
– The wicked one’s plans won’t stand! Job 5:12
• It takes the right guide and a proper heart…

• Seek God’s will in everything! Psalm 33:11;

7. Give God the FIRST PLACE
in Your Heart!
• This aspect permeates every decision we
make. Mark 12:30
• Do YOU want to go to heaven? If so, you
must seek to do God’s will always.
Matthew 7:21-23; Hebrews 5:9; Mt. 28:20
• To put God first you must deny your own
selfish desires. Luke 9:23
• This may be hard for some, love God’s
Word more than your necessary food!
Job 23:12; Matthew 4:4

8. What are YOU GIVING to God?
• Let us seek to be successful people living
life God’s way, keeping these five firsts for
success! 2 Samuel 22:31
• Start your success in Jesus today become
His disciple! 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 10:9-10
– Hear and believe the gospel. Romans 1:16-17
– Repent of sin. Acts 11:18
– Confess Jesus. Acts 8:37
– Be Baptized into Christ. Gal. 3:27; Acts 22:16
– Then, Continue faithful. Rev. 2:10
