Being called children of God means we have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. It also means we are part of God's family, the church, and have responsibilities to live holy lives and show love to one another. Most importantly, it means we have the hope of salvation and eternal life because of God's great love shown through sending His Son to die for our sins.
While there is no biblical verse which explicitly states, “You shall not pray to angels,” it is abundantly clear that we are not to pray to angels. This certainly flies in the face of Catholic sensibilities as
praying to saints (dead people) and angels is a common practice.
Ultimately, prayer is an act of worship. And, just as angels reject our worship (Revelation 22:8-9), so they would also reject our prayers. Offering our worship or prayer to anyone but God is idolatry. There are also several practical and theological reasons why praying to angels is wrong. Christ Himself never prayed to anyone but the Father.
What do you hope for? Do you hope for a new job? A new relationship? A new adventure in life? A new smartphone? But first let me ask you this question, what is hope?
Hope looks at the future. You are hoping because there is something to look forward to. Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Singles individual might hope in their work to achieve their goals and dream. Or they might hope for a relationship where they would receive the love they need. These can be the wrong anchors or sources of our hope.
Hebrews 12:2 says keep your eyes on Jesus who perfects our faith. It is actually also saying that we are to hope in God. Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Wherever there is full assurance of hope, there is faith. Faith is the full assurance of hope. Hope is part of Faith. Therefore, in Hebrews 12 God is the one who initiates, He is the author or source of our faith and He is the one who is the source of our hope. He is the one we are to hope for because he will be one who will make what we hope for come into a reality. Look at what Romans 15:13 says also.
Romans 15:13 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
God of hope means God is the source of hope. I like how its translated in the NLT version, it says this: “God, the source of hope, will.” Hope here in Greek is elpis meaning expectation, trust, confidence and expectation of what is sure or certain. We can now relate this to God the source of hope as God our source of confidence as we expect something to be sure or certain
That’s why I would like to define hope as CONFIDENCE IN THE FUTURE ANCHORED ON GOD WITH GREAT EXPECTATIONS
Great Expectations because God can do more than what we could think of our imagine and because we expect it to actually happen. As one famous preacher said, biblical hope is just not a desire but it expects it to happen

Will Those Who Do Not Hear The Gospel Be Lost?Dave Stewart
We are often asked about those who do not hear the gospel whether they will be saved. The scriptures teach us that we are all lost because of sin and the only solution to sin is Jesus.
What does it take to begin a relationship with God? Devote yourself to unselfish religious deeds? Become a better person so that God will accept you?
You may be surprised that none of those things will work. But God has made it very clear in the Bible how we can know Him.
The following principles will explain how you can personally begin a relationship with God, right now, through Jesus Christ...

We are born from above to live from above. We must live out of our life in Christ and live in accordance to Kingdom ways and principles. We colabor with God to walk in the natural what He has already completed for us in the spiritual. Living from above is the key to living a victorious Christian life.

Is eternal existence possible? Here are four reasons why it is not only possible, not only probable, but guaranteed:
1. God's love desires it - He loves us and wants to be with us forever!
2. The power of God can give it - He who created us has the power to give us eternal life!
3. The justice of God demands it - Both the saved and the lost will have eternal existence. The choice of where we spend eternity is ours to make.
4. The faithfulness of god will make it happen - God has not failed to make good on one promise! If He promised eternal life (and He did) then He will make it happen!
A332 His commandments are not hard to keep Born of God, born of blood our co...franktsao4
God said that my commands are not difficult to obey. However, we have seen the history of Israel. They were exiled all over the world because they did not obey God’s commands. So is it difficult or easy? In fact, the key lies in whether you use the world’s methods or the Kingdom of God’s methods? When you use the world's methods, the obstacle you encounter is God. He will not let you do what you want to do, because He says that if the Lord does not build the things of the world, whatever built will be uprooted. So we need to know how to obey God’s commands and use God’s methods, but He requires us to become His children. But before we can become children, we must obey His commands. So, which comes first, the chicken or the egg? This dilemma is that before God requires others to be disciples, you must be a disciple before you can lead others to obey God's commands. A332
In times like these ones, we need to have a clear definition of what Love is and what is not.
Nothing better that the Bible to help us understand what love is.
A sermon that talks about the importance of spiritual growth.
This presentation teaches that spiritual maturity and growth must be a priority of a Christian.
Lk. 15:11-31 Then He said: "A certain man had two sons. "And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.' So he divided to them his livelihood. "And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. "But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. "Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. "And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything. "But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 'I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, "and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."' "And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. "And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.' "But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 'And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 'for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry. "Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. "So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. "And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.' "But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. "So he answered and said to his father, 'Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. 'But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.' "And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 'It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.'"
How confident are you in your relationship with God? Do you know that you know Him? Do you know that you are going to be with Him in heaven for eternity?

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Called the children of god
1. Called The Children Of God
1 John 3:1,2
Behold, what manner of love the Father
hath bestowed upon us, that we should be
called the sons of God: therefore the world
knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it
doth not yet appear what we shall be: but
we know that, when he shall appear, we
shall be like him; for we shall see him as he
is.
2. God's great love.
• John 3:16
• “For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life”
• Romans 5:8
• “But God commendeth his love toward
us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.”
4. It means we were born again.
• John 3:1-5
• “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily,
I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith
unto him, How can a man be born when he is
old? can he enter the second time into his
mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter
into the kingdom of God.”
5. 1 PETER 1:22-23
• “Seeing ye have purified your souls in
obeying the truth through the Spirit unto
unfeigned love of the brethren, see that
ye love one another with a pure heart
fervently: Being born again, not of
corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by
the word of God, which liveth and abideth
for ever.”
6. It means we are in the family
(church) of God.
• 1 Tim. 3:15 (see verse 5)
•“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know
how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the
house of God, which is the church of the
living God, the pillar and ground of the
truth.”
• Matt. 12:50
7. It means we have hope.
• Rom. 8:12-39
•Heb. 2:10-17; 6:13-20
8. It means we have
responsibilities.
•1 John 2:28-29
•1 John 3:3,9-10,16-17
