Rom 8:5-8 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Rom 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

“Divine Providence In The Life of Todays Christian"Don McClain
Problems are a part of life and how one handles these problems is related to his view of God. Believing in divine providence helps one to cope with the vicissitudes of life. The word itself never appears in Holy Scripture in reference to God, (Acts 24:1), but the concept is found Throughout the Bible. This lesson examines what the Bible teaches about this important subject. - MP3 / PPT / KEYNOTE / PDF - 3/9/2014 - http://w65stchurchofchrist.org/coc/

1 Cor 1:17-18 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Powerful internal evidence that the Bible is divine in origin. Human wisdom would not and could not write such content, couching shadows of Jesus in the Old Testament before Jesus came.
Tit 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
God's wrath, God's Will - Jesus Christ, God's Will - Church God's Will - The...franktsao4
The descent of the plague this time was large, violent, and wide-ranging, showing the wrath of God, but why is God so wrathful? If we put ourselves in the perspective of God, He sent Jesus Christ to pave the way for us to live a true and living eternal life. The price is the life of His single beloved Son. He established the church. He hope the church can continue to carry out this mission. However, is the church obeying God's command? And does the church interpret the Bible in accordance with God's will? Do those who participate in the church have salvation? If the answer to the above is no, it is no wonder that God is so angry.

1) What is the work done by faith? What is the connection between faith and work? Why do we have to suffer even if we have love? We wait patiently for Jesus Christ and what are we waiting for? 1 Thess. 1:3 2) Paul mentioned not to 1) please people, just please God, but also 2) to believers as mothers raising children, and as fathers comforting children, how can the two balance the two? -11 3) Why do tribulations shake people, how to increase their love, and what is the relationship between love and knowledge? 1 Thess. 3-12 4) What are the people who have fallen asleep in Jesus, and where were these people when they were alive? How do you know that you are in Christ? Thess. 4:7-14 5), because God does not predetermine us to be tortured, but predestined us to be saved through our Lord Jesus Christ, what is through, 1 Thessalonians 5:8-10 6) Always be joyful, pray unceasingly, give thanks in everything, which is the easiest thing for you to do. What are the common factors for these three commands? 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 7) Whether those who don’t know God and those who don’t obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus are synonymous, the result is eternal perish. Where did they go? 2 Thess. 1:6-9 8) Make all those who do not believe in the truth but love unrighteousness be condemned. Isn’t God love? Why is he so strict with such people? What is the definition of love? 2 Thess. 2:10
Can you remember the joy of first receiving Christ? Why is it, that as we grow in Christ we sometimes know more, but experience the joy less. It's choice. In any relationship it requires a degree of effort to keep the joy in the relationship. Lord, Please return the joy to us.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. Objective of Lesson
• To learn more about Hezekiah?
• To show that time and chance happen to
all!
• To challenge us to focus more on
spiritual things than carnal.
4. Hezekiah
✓He was twenty five years old when he became the King of
Judah (2 Kings 18:1-2).
✓He obeyed God, he did right! (2 Kings 18:3)
✓He got rid of the high places or sacred altars to the god Baal
(2 Kings 12:3; 14:4; 15:4, 35; 17:9; 18:22)
✓He cut down the Asherah, broke the pillars.. a wooden pole or
tree by the altar of the Canaanite goddess (1 Kings 14:15).
✓He was the best king Judah ever had! (2 Kings 18:5)
✓He clung to or holdfast to God (2 Kings 18:6 & Deut. 10:20)
5. Hezekiah
• Hezekiah demonstrated his loyalty to Yahweh by
restoring the temple and re - establishing the
sacrificial system. He reorganized the priests
and meticulously outlined their responsibilities. (2
Chronicles 29:5-11; 30:21-27; 31:11-21)
• He also tore down the high places and altars
dedicated to pagan idolatry and even destroyed
the bronze serpent that Moses had fashioned in
the Sinai desert
7. Ecclesiastes 9:11-12
• Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the
swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the
wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those
with knowledge, but time and chance happen to
them all.
• For man does not know his time. Like fish that are
taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in
a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil
time, when it suddenly falls upon them.
9. Hezekiah
• Hezekiah became sick and had boil (vs. 1& 21)
• Most do not want to know they are sick to the point of
death! Most keep it a secret when they find out they
have a terminal disease.
• God told Isaiah to to tell Hezekiah so that he could set
his house in order. He told him that he would die and
not recover.
10. Hezekiah
• Vs. 2 — Hezekiah prays! He still believes in the power of prayer!
He does not harden his heart to God!
• 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always; pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ
Jesus.
• Job 1:20-22 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his
head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. He said, “Naked I
came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The
Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name
of the Lord.” Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame
God.
11. Hezekiah
• vs. 3 — Remember how I
have walked before you….
• Faithful and with whole
heart.
• Can we say that?
• Can we say that we put
spiritual things first in our
lives?
12. Hezekiah
• He wept bitterly!
• Even though he had done
good and been fully
committed to serving
God…he was going to die
and from a boil!
• Hebrews 9:27 And as it is
appointed for men to die
once, but after this the
judgment,
13. Hezekiah
•God hears his prayer!
•Hezekiah thanks God (17-
21)
•1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes
of the Lord are on the
righteous,And His ears are
open to their prayers; But
the face of the Lord is
against those who do evil.”
14. Summary
★ Time and chance happen to all, regardless and it does not
mean that God loves one more or less because of
hardships suffered.
★ No matter how good or evil a person is, all will face God in
judgment.
★ Our days are numbered and we do not know the number.
★ We must be covered in the blood of Jesus Christ and live
faithful lives if we are to live with God for all eternity.
★ Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die
once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered
once to bear the sins of many.
