The Love of God Is Greater Far

God’s love is Unmerited Unlimited Unquenchable Unchangeable
I. God loves us even when it does not seem like it (unchangeable) (Matthew 28:20).
II. God loves us even if we do not love Him (unmerited). Romans 5:6-8 John 1:10; 15:18 1 John 4:10 Luke 19:41-42
III. God loves us no matter what we have done (unlimited). Deuteronomy 7:7-8
It may be harder to get forgiveness from ourselves than from God. Ephesians 3:8; 1 Timothy 1:13, 15; Philippians 3:13-14 ; Hebrews 8:12
We look back over our wasted, sinful years and think . . . And then God says:
“ I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins” (Isaiah 43:25).
2 Corinthians 5:17
IV. God loves us even when we make mistakes (unquenchable). “ For in many things we offend all” (James 3:2). Ecclesiastes 7:20; Isaiah 53:6; Psalm 130:3
“ Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it” (Song 8:7).
Others will: criticize you, condemn you, gossip about you, cheat you, find fault with you, berate you, belittle you, and accuse you . . .
But God will just love you and help you. And as soon as we repent, confess, and obey, He will forgive you! (1 John 1:8; Acts 8:22-24; James 5:16).
“ Thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not” (Nehemiah 9:17).
Inviting 2 Corinthians 5:14; 1 John 5:3; Deuteronomy 6:5; Matthew 22:37

How do we know? We are on God’s mind.
1. God had you in mind since the world’s creation (Ephesians 1:3-5; 3:11).
To be in Christ is to be in His body, the church (Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:4).
It is exciting to study history in light of God’s providence Since man’s fall (Genesis 3), God has been working to see Him restored (cf. Genesis 3:15).
He promised Abraham a descendant (Christ) who would bless all nations (Genesis 12:1-3; Galatians 3:16-17). He produced the nation of Israel through which the Messiah would be born (Exodus).
He gave them property (Joshua) and instruction (prophets). He kept the seed line pure (1 Kings – 2 Chronicles) so that Christ was born of the seed of Abraham and the lineage of David (2 Samuel 7:12-16; Matthew 1; Luke 3).
He brought about the virgin birth and protected the innocent child from wicked rulers (Matthew 1-2). He raised the crucified Lamb from the grave and set Him on heaven’s throne (Mark 16; Romans 1:4; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
He established the church (the Messiah’s kingdom) into which all men may flow and be saved (Isaiah 2:1-4; Acts 2).
God Had You In Mind When Jesus Was Sent. When God thought of you and the dilemma your sin had caused, He decided to empty heaven of its most precious jewel so you could be saved (2 Corinthians 8:9).
“…might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus” (Romans 3:24-26).
2. God had you in mind at Calvary (Galatians 2:20). We generally value something by how much we must pay for it (Ephesians 1:7; Acts 20:32; Romans 8:32).
3. God has you in mind now. You never leave His mind, His thoughts, or His sight. He sees the worst in you, and loves you anyhow 1 Peter 5:7; Matthew 7:7-11
4. God will have you in mind at the Judgment Day. Revelation 7:14; Philippians 4:3; Revelation 22:12; 2:10; Matthew 25:34
