Don't be surprised when -- not if -- you find yourself suffering in God's will -- This will happen! You are folllowing Christ's example of reproving the world with a love for them that hates sin enough to suffer. Paul said that in suffering, you're in God's death-to-Life march, on display for the world to marvel at. So prepare and consider proper suffering the honor it is, that is to be rewarded by Him.
Are you looking for your Calling/Purpose/Niche in life?
Do you think you need to serve others better?
Do you wonder if there is a God and if so, what does that mean exactly?
Rekindling sets out to walk with you as you answer those questions.
We are a Bible-based, Christ-loving educational non-profit that sets out to rekindle people\'s passions for God, for everyone else in the world and for their own life.

A Christian must think of himself as a son or daughter of the Most High God. One is not higher or lower than another. We tend to behave as who we see ourselves to be.

These slides are for Lifeway ETB lesson of Nov. 4. Peter cautions leaders to be committed examples, to win others to further follow Christ -- not being overlords, but exemple servants who know God's grace. He also tells younger Christians to respect the older ones -- who God matures, as we know. AND that all believers should humble (not overestimate) themselves to receive the favor of God, Whose great hand is over the whole process of growing-up-in-Christ. Watch out for the deceiver Satan, who is on the prowl for anyone he can destroy. Know that after suffering for Christ, God will strengthen you.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. Objective of Lesson
1. To show that war has been declared
and by who!
2. To show the enemies methodical battle
plans
3. To show that the battle is won in Christ!
4. Wrestle (vs. 12)
• A contest between two
in which each
endeavors to throw the
other and which is
decided when the victor
is able to hold his
opponent down with his
hand upon his neck.
• Satan is trying to choke
us out!
5. Our adversary the devil
• Zechariah 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high
priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan
standing at his right hand to oppose him.
• Romans 7:21-23 I find then a law, that evil is present
with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in
the law of God according to the inward man. But I see
another law in my members, warring against the law
of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law
of sin which is in my members.
6. Our adversary the devil
• Job 1:6-8 Now there was a day when the sons of God
came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan
also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From
where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said,
“From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up
and down on it.”
• 1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking
whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith,
knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your
brotherhood in the world.
7. Application
1. The devil is consistent and persistent in his desire to
see us destroyed and having the same fate as he and
his ministers! (Ref: Matthew 25:41)
2. He is constantly looking, roaming, studying us to trip us
us, to ensnare us, to bring us into slavery. He wants us
to be slaves of sin! (Ref: Romans 6:20)
3. The war takes place in our minds! We know what is
right but we are tempted to do wrong! (Romans 7:23)
4. We can resist him! We have several examples of
those who have, we are not the only ones to be
tempted!
8. Satan knows..
• Deuteronomy 14:2 For thou art an holy people
unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen
thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all
the nations that are upon the earth. (KJV)
• Peculiar—special treasure, treasured possession,
own possession.
• Leviticus 20:26 And you shall be holy to Me, for I
the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the
peoples, that you should be Mine.
9. Satan knows..
• 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may
proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of
darkness into >>>>> His marvelous light;
• >>HE calls all through the gospel >> 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
• Romans 12:1-2 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of
God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable
to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your>> mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that
which is good and acceptable and perfect.
13. Modesty
• 1 Peter 3:3-4 Your adornment must not be merely
external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or
putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the
heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet
spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. (eRef. 1
Timothy 4:8)
• Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but
be transformed by the renewing of your>> mind, so that
you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good
and acceptable and perfect.
14.
15. De-masculinize
• 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Or do you not know that the
unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be
deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the
covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will
inherit the kingdom of God.
• Having or showing characteristics regarded as typical of a
woman; unmanly. For example: Hair, dress, walk, talk,
smell. The passive male in a homosexual intimate
relationship.
• Toxic masculinity ad??
16.
17.
18. My Body? Or HIS
• 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 Flee immorality. Every other
sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the
immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you
not know that your body is a temple of the Holy
Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and
that you are not your own? For you have been
bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your
body.
• Ref: Acts 20:28
19. Remember
• Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed
to this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your>> mind, so that you
may prove what the will of God is, that
which is good and acceptable and perfect.
20.
21.
22.
23.
24. Application
• The church >>>>> called out ones >>>> are not to
resemble the world. We are not to be influenced by the
world rather we influence them!
• The devil (darkness) strategy is to appear as light! To
make you and I think that sin is right and truth is wrong.
To make us think that sin is not as bad as it really is!
• 2 Corinthians 11:14 No wonder, for even Satan
disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is
not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as
servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to
their deeds.
