of victories and setbacks, especially for women. Women are disproportionately affected by
gender inequality; they are often looked at with pity or a need to be protected from the outside
world. This desire to protect women has evolved into a culture of restriction, when it comes to
what women can and cannot do in their day to day lives. The Middle East is especially
susceptible to devaluing women in society. The states that operate within this grouping are
dominated by patriarchal societies that raise men and their standards above those of women. In
Iran women have a difficult time making a name for themselves and are often left feeling very
helpless and alone. Sometimes women have to fight just to be heard and are often silenced by the
government in an attempt to level the playing field between the sexes. Ironically, in Bahrain the
government appears to be in favor of women and establishing them as equals with their male

The book All But My Life was an autobiographical piece of literature written by Gerda
Weissmann Klein. The book was first published in 1957, but the version read is the expanded
version published in 1995. The book was originally typed by the author, with the help of a few
friends. Gerda never had the courage to show the book to a publisher until an acquaintance named
Mr. Sloan expressed great enthusiasm about an early draft. The book follows the author during the
Holocaust, starting with some time before the Germans enter her town of Bielitz, Poland. The
author goes on to explain the hardships she and her family faced following until the author is
separated from her family after being sent to a camp for Jews. The race of the book explains in
great detail the labor the Weismann performed while moving from several camps leading up to her
liberation. The rest of the book explains how she readjusted to being free and met her husband...
This is due to the great detail that she delved into no matter how gruesome or gory those details
might be. She was never ashamed in the way she wrote, but a great deal of sorrow could be
almost physically felt on the pages in which the words are printed. The one issue I did have with
the novel was in the way she would sometime spend little buildup to someone she knew dying. If
I was not careful I would miss someone she knew dying because a few of the sentences were less
than a few words in length. However, I do understand the reasoning to this and that reasoning is
when a person is faced with an outrageously large number of deaths then that person becomes
numb to it. Besides this issue I loved the rest of Weissmann s writing especially the detail in both
the physical world and her own thoughts. I also greatly enjoyed the way she would talk about her

a disease was a punishment for a person s evil behavior not a medical problem. These three
theories differ because they all covered different barriers when it came to treating and
understanding diseases. The Humoral theory began with the four elements and the anatomical
theory allowed us to take a deeper look into the functioning of the bodies systems. This helped us
to learn what was happening in the body, in the body systems and in the organs. Without these
two studies we would not have come to the Germ Theory. Even though each theory is different
in concept each theory was important and we would not have been able to progress along to the
next theory. If we would not have had the germ theory we would not have discovered the need
for vaccines or discovered antiseptics. These theories also allowed physicians to learn to look at
diseases on a micro (small scale) instead of just a macro scale or big picture. I feel that these
theories have led to significant changes in health care over the years. These theories have allowed
scientist to discover not only how to cure some disease but also how to prevent diseases from
spreading. Scientists were able to develop vaccines, antiseptics, create personal protective
equipment and enabled the public

Red Gerard Research Paper
Redmond Gerard, mostly known as Red Gerard will be heading into his first Winter Olympic
Event. Red Gerard is 17 years old and is one of the youngest athletes in the Olympics this year.
Gerard and his family are originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He was born the sixth out of the
seven of his older and one younger siblings. Gerard said that he didn t want to fall behind
everyone else because his family was a group of good snowboarders. It all started when his
brothers were recording Gerard do tricks and putting them on youtube. As said earlier Gerard is
one of seven siblings which is a lot. Gerard has four brothers and only two sisters. One of his
sisters is named Tieghan who is a food blogger with more than 400,000 followers on instagram.
Gerard and his family are from Cleveland, Ohio but they moved to Silverthorne, Colorado which
led Gerard to become even more interested in snowboarding. There s not too much else to say
about his family other than his brothers are all good at snowboarding (The Aspen Times).... Show
Today he has his own trick park to practice or train in. Gerard started to become more known when
his brothers started to record Red doing snowboard tricks and posting them on YouTube. Red
Gerard has said that he doesn t think about what will be coming up but what s happening now. So
far I feel like Red was born to be a snowboarder (TheAspenTimes)(skiing snowboard). 2018 is Red s
first appearance in the Olympics but he still has won some awards and plays in two events. In 2015
Red placed fourth in the Junior world championships. A few years after He enters for the FIS
World Cup and won in first place for slopestyle. Gerard plays in two events, and those are
Slopestyle that he did in the FIS World Cup and Big air. Now, even though this year is Gerard s
first year in the Olympics, he still has a bit of experience up in front of a big crowd (Team
