Sarah Connelly
Mind Maps & More Planning
Genre: Rock/Indie
Why?
• I have chosen this as my genre so I could
experiment with different house styles. This would
provide a challenge.
The
Genre:
• The genre itself involves a number of other genres
such as blues and folk, and incorporated influences
from jazz, classical and other musical sources.
My plan:
• To use two models which will be featured within my
front cover, contents page and two page spread.
House Style
To ensure that my magazine looks professional, I will
use a house styles and colour schemes. By keeping
these the same throughout my piece, my three different
pieces will look like they belong in the same magazine.
My Influences:
My Models:
I am using a male and female model. This will conclude
in my magazine attracting both genders thus increasing
popularity. My male model will be dressed in slim fitted
jeans and a t-shit, making him look ordinary and casual.
My female model on the other hand will not hold a
stereotypical ‘damsel in distress look’. This has been
achieved by dressing her in shorts and her facial
expression.
Colour Scheme
Although I am unsure of my exact colour scheme until I
analyse the photo’s, I have decided it will be simple and
only of a few colours. My current idea is to use one
primary colour with less dominant colours such as grey,
black and white.
Front Cover
My front cover will be busy. It will contain aspects such
as:
• Masthead
• Taglines
• Advertisements
• Hooks
• Quotes
Contents Page:
This will be set out in a clear and ordered format. This
will be achieve with the use of:
1. Page numbers
2. Dividers
3. Photo’s to space out the text
My Two Page Spread:
This will be based upon one of my models. As the
magazine is music based, I have decided to involve in
this is the two page spread:
• Band break up
• New dates
• Complications
• Past Experiences
