This document discusses the design choices for a magazine called Crescendo focused on music. The title is meant to convey getting louder, connecting to an intelligent audience. Images portray stereotypes of rock stars as hard men who are loners needing only music. Both the gothic title design and black and white images of models in black clothing conform to styles of other rock magazines to clearly portray the magazine's genre as focused on rock music.

• MY title for the magazine is Crescendo.
• This is a musical term meaning to get louder
this instantly connects with an intelligent
audience the misc-en-scene of my title, is very
gothic, although the words are in white, the
style I have used make it look more violent
and the effects like inner shadow and outer
glow I have used make it seem

• The misc-en-scene of my images are
conformed to stereotypes of rock-stars.
• Like the idea that they are all hard-men and
are loners only needing the music to live,
• I went with a black background for my image
and my models to be wearing black.
• This conforms deeply with methods other
magazines like kerrang use.

4. Suggested genre
• The genre of my music is not only portrayed
by my masthead but also by the images. The
title being Crescendo makes the reader know
its loud already, but the picture of two men
dressed in black with jeans, coupled with
branded T-shirts confirm to the reader that
this is definitely a rock magazine.
