This document summarizes a presentation about the Microsoft Educators Community and Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert Programme. 2. Wi-fi guest access
To access the guest wi-fi Falkirk staff should use their
username and password they use for logging onto
network PCs
Non-Falkirk staff will be provided with temporary
guest wi-fi access

5. Undertake training Module
• Sign in to the Microsoft Educators Community
• Click on "Educators" tab along the top
• Choose "Get trained" from the dropdown menu
• Choose "Courses"
• Browse down and choose the Introduction to Sway
• Work through the first video tutorials

6. Microsoft Innovative Expert Programme
• Provides recognition for educators using technology to support learning
and teaching
• MIE Experts are advocates for use of technology in education
• Provides help to build educator capacity in own school
• Professional development opportunities & certifications
• Global webinars including invitation-only special events

8. Begin Sway application to MIEExpert Programme
• Share with colleague beside you about uses of digital technology in your
educational setting
• Identify skills and experiences you have in use of digital technology to
support learning and teaching
• More information about the nomination process can be found here:

• Begin Sway presentation application to join the MIE Expert programme

9. Microsoft Innovative Expert Programme
• You will need to submit the URL to your public profile on the Microsoft
Educators Community as a part of the nomination process. You can find
your URL by going into Edit Profile and looking under “basic information.”
• Create a 2-minute Office Mix, video or Sway that answers the questions on
the following slide in a manner that creatively expresses what makes you a
Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert.
• To share the Mix/video/Sway in your nomination, you will need to post it
somewhere that allows you to create a URL to share it.

10. Microsoft Innovative Expert Programme
Why do you consider yourself to be a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert?
• Describe how you have incorporated Microsoft technologies in innovative
ways in your classroom. Include artifacts that demonstrate your innovation.
• If you become a MIE-Expert, how do you hope it will impact your current
role?
• Once you have completed those two tasks, you will be ready to fill out the
self-nomination form (open April 15 - July 15, 2017) at
