Aerosol
Aerosol is the pressurized dosage form that upon actuation emits a fine dispersion of liquid or solid materials containing one or more active ingredients in a gaseous medium.
Aerosol differ from form most other dosage forms in its dependence upon the function of the container on valve assembly and propellant.
In recent years, the pulmonary drug delivery system is found to be preferred route of administration for various drugs. It has been divided into three classes: Nebulizers, pressurized metered-dose inhalers, and dry-powder inhaler (DPI). This article focuses on the DPI formulation, principle of working, DPI devices, and evaluation parameters. DPI formulations consist of micronized drug blended with larger carrier particles, which enhance flow, reduce aggregation, and aid in dispersion. DPIs are commonly used to treat respiratory diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. DPI is formulated using four types of formulation strategies such as carrier-free, drug carrier, drug additive, and drug-carrier additive. The particle size of active pharmaceutical ingredients must be present in size range about 1–5 μm which also guarantee that the patient gets the same dose every time at different airflow rate. A DPI is a device that delivers medication to the lungs in the form of a dry powder. DPI devices can be categorized as capsule-based, blister based, canister/cartridge-based, and other types.

INTRODUCTION
Aerosol or Pressurized package is defined as “A system that depends on the power of a compressed gas or liquefied gas to expel the contents from the container.”[1]
Pharmaceutical Aerosol is defined as aerosol product containing active ingredients dissolved , suspended or emulsified in a propellant or a mixture of solvent or propellant and intended for oral or topical administration.[1]

Em consonância com os ODS – Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a Estratégia Global para a Saúde das Mulheres, Crianças e Adolescentes, e aplicando uma abordagem baseada nos direitos humanos, os esforços de cuidados pós-natais devem expandir-se para além da cobertura e da simples sobrevivência, de modo a incluir cuidados de qualidade.
Estas diretrizes visam melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados pós-natais essenciais e de rotina prestados às mulheres e aos recém-nascidos, com o objetivo final de melhorar a saúde e o bem-estar materno e neonatal.
Uma “experiência pós-natal positiva” é um resultado importante para todas as mulheres que dão à luz e para os seus recém-nascidos, estabelecendo as bases para a melhoria da saúde e do bem-estar a curto e longo prazo. A careful and detailed history and examination, and in some cases, investigations allow differentiation between these diagnoses. A prompt diagnosis is essential as the patient may require urgent surgical intervention
Testicular torsion refers to twisting of the spermatic cord, causing ischaemia of the testicle.
Testicular torsion results from inadequate fixation of the testis to the tunica vaginalis producing ischemia from reduced arterial inflow and venous outflow obstruction.
The prevalence of testicular torsion in adult patients hospitalized with acute scrotal pain is approximately 25 to 50 percent

MDI (metered dose inhaler) is a
device that used to deliver a specific
amount of medication to the lungs.
Metered dose inhalers were first
developed in 1955 by Riker
Laboratories, Now a subsidiary of 3 M
Healthcare.
4. Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) has a
pressurized container of medication that
fits into a mouthpiece,
A dose of medication is released into
lungs by pushing the container into the
mouthpiece.
5. Components of MDI
1. Canister:
The canister which is produced in aluminium
or stainless steel , where the formulation
resides.
2. Actuator:
The complete made canister is fitted into a
plastic container this is called actuator, which
allows the patient to operate the device and
directs the aerosol into the patient lungs.
6. 3. Metering valve:
It allows a metered quantity of the
formulation.
4. Actuator seat:
It holds metering valve and actuator nozzle.
5. Actuator nozzle:
It helps to spread the component into the
mouth.
8. Types of MDI.
MDIs (Metered Dose Inhaler) are classified
in two categories
1. Non-pressurized MDIs.
2. Pressurized MDIs.
9. 1. Non-pressurized MDI.
Portable, inhalation delivery device
containing an aqueous solution,
suspension or emulsion , which
delivers one dose in one or more
actuators.
2. Pressurized MDI.
An inhalation product containing one
or more propellants in a pressurized
delivery device.
10. How to use meter dose
inhaler:
1. At first the Inhaler should be
Shaken very well before use.
2. Then the cap should be removed.
3. Breath out away from inhaler.
4. Then the inhaler should be brought
to mouth, placed it in mouth
between teeth and closed mouth
around it.
11. 5. Then the patient should start to
breathe in slowly, press the top of
inhaler once and keep breathing in
slowly until patient has taken a full
breath.
6. At last the patient should Remove the
inhaler from mouth and hold breathe
for about 10 seconds, then breathe out.
13. Advantages of MDI.
There are a number of advantages that
are consider with metered dose inhaler,
which are written below.
1. It reduces dose lose.
2. allows pressurized metered dose.
3. inhaler use in patient with acute
illness.
4. It deliver specific amount of
medication to patients.
5. No drug preparation is needed.
14. 6. It is small size & convenience to
patients.
7. Usually, it is inexpensive as
compared to Dry Powder Inhaler(DPI) &
Nebulizer.
8. Quick to use than other device.
9. It has multi-dose capability, more
than hundred (100) dose are available.
15. Disadvantage of MDIs.
1. Accessory device decreases
portability.
2. Additional cost.
3. Possible dosing error.
4. Potential source of contamination or
infections.
5. there is no information about the
number of dose left in the MDI.
6. Proper co-ordination is essential.
7. Difficult to deliver high dose.
