2. T-shirt/T-shirts
• T-shirts are one of the go-to merch
options, with most live
performances/tours having them as an
option, and available online, both for indie
and studio produced music
• Most band merch follows the same
aesthetic as the band branding, so
electropop merch would likely have
bright/neon colours, contrasted against
dark backgrounds (Like Halsey's, the
butterfly one)
• I like the idea of a front and back design,
like Alice Phoebe Lou's (top right)
3. Stickers
• Aem already has some existing
stickers, but I plan to make my own
design for more
• They're cheap to make, and easy to
spread around, so a lot of people
would likely see them
• I like the aesthetic of Halsey's and
Chvrvhes stickers, dark neons and
pastels
4. Posters
• Signed poster
giveaways/limited collection
is a cool way to get people to
want them
• The idea of a limited amount
of products brings in an
exclusivity element, building
up hype, similar to how
SUPREME works
5. Children's clothes
• Simliar to Metallica, it doesn't
literally target children, it targets
the parents. Aem's audience might
be a little young to have kids (14-
24), but that doesn’t rule out
younger
siblings/cousins/nieces/nephews
6. Make-up kit
• Adam ant
• James Charles
• Targets the tween/teen audience
• If I make Aem's look/branding
distinct enough in the video, a
make-up kit could be a good way to
solidify that
8. Lunch Boxes
• KISS • Like the children's clothes it
doesn't target children per se,
but parents of children who
would buy it for them as a lunch
box.
• As mentioned earlier Aem's
audience isn’t quite old enough,
but that doesn't rule out
younger relatives
9. Soft drink
• Other bands such as Iron
Maiden have made their
own alcoholic drinks for an
older target audience, so a
soft drink would be more
appropriate for the target
audience
10. EPs/Singles on vinyl
• As suggested in book Retromania,
an obsession with nostalgia is
emerging, with vinyl sales having
gone up in the last decade, and
bands like The Smiths, Metallica and
Iron Maiden remastering old albums
and rereleasing them on vinyl, and
new artists doing the same
• This could target the audience who
listened to vinyls when they were
young (nostalgia), or a younger,
more hipster target audience
11. Trading Cards
• City Bay Rollers
• Justin Bieber
• Cindy Lauper, and loads more
• Target tween audience
• Involves audience participation, so
helps with the viral aspect
