• The first issue of this magazine
was printed on 1st February 1983
as a 16 page, black and white
magazine. The first cover was the
American music group Shalamar.
However as the years have gone
by this has slowly changed, now
featuring mainly women on the
font cover.
• Ibiza is also a very common trend
running through all the
magazines (example: photo on

• The younger generation are normally most
interested in pop music. This is normally because
they are most likely to listen to music that is in the
charts. Pop music dominates the music chart in
modern day.
• Celebrity obsessed people as celebrities are
mostly found on the front covers.
10. TRENDS
• Blender magazine has changed a lot in years gone
by. It has updated itself to follow the trends of the
younger generation. For example ; celebrities who
are popular in the media would be put on the front
cover of a magazine like blender to attract the
younger audience who follow celebrity culture.
• The way magazines are also presented has
changed in recent years. For example the majority f
magazines are now viewed over the internet. This
means it attracts more of the social networking and
online based audience; which is known to be the
younger generation.
