Lip synching • Lipsynching is a really simple and effective way to amplify lyrics • It can be lip snyching to the songs while performing only for the music video, like in • My Chemical Romance – Teenagers • With the band in front of a high school crowd, who do choreography to the song, becoming increasingly chaotic • Panic! At The Disco – I Write Sins not Tragedies • With Brendon Urie being a character in the video, who shows the groom that his bride is cheating on him • The Smiths – This Charming Man • Filmed in a room in an abandoned factory, with flowers everywhere and the band playing • Pale Waves – Television Romance • Filmed in a room in a London Estate, the band performing for the camera
- 3. Lip Synching • Ratherthan being only for the music video, the lip synching can be diegetic, with the artist or band performing in front of a real audience, for example in: • Guns n Roses – Welcome to the Jungle • Bon Jovi – It's My Life
- 4. Dancing • Dancing tothe beat is a simple wat to amplify the music • Seen in: • My Chemical Romance – Teenagers • The Smiths – This Charming Man • Caroline Polachek – So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings • Kate Bush – Running up that Hill • These last 2 are entirely interpretive dance numbers, and they amplify both the lyrics and the visuals
- 5. Editing • Fast pacedediting for when the tempo of the song increases, or when it crescendos • Cutting to the beat • Slo-mo for slower parts of the song • I saw this in pretty much every example I looked at
