• NME started in 1952 , their first magazine was about mixed artists and their
first cover had no main subject.
Genre: Rock, Indie , pop , rap.
The magazine has been around for just over 60 years , internationally
introducing rock , punk and indie music to the masses , this brand remains
widely popular among readers.
Modern-day NME features a wide range of genres such as Rap and Pop music
. NME focuses on artists and upcoming albums or tour dates.
NME’s most recent logo hasn’t changed much at all from when it became
popular .
3. Kerrang! Magazine
• Initially starting out as a magazine , Kerrang! has spread to many
formats such a website , TV station and annual award ceremony ,
amongst which is their highly radio station.
• First published in 1981 , Kerrang focused on mainly heavily metal and
rock.
• The magazine is widely known as a teenage magazine,
It focuses on popular rock bands and festivals , though they advertise
merchandise for bands too.
4. Rock Sound.
• The more formal music magazine , delivers a large amount of music
genres , ranging from mainstream pop music to indie and all the way
back its roots as a rock magazine.
• Rock Sound first British edition started in 1999
• The modern-day Rock Sound magazine still clings close its title as a
rock magazine but occasionally branches out to country music .
5. MOJO
• MOJO’s first publication was in 1993 , featuring Bob Dylan and John
Lennon.
• MOJO is mainly a magazine about blues and blues artists , though
mojo does discuss new artists they mainly focus on ‘legends’ and more
favoured bands and artists of the past.
