AIM OF THE STUDY
The aim of the study is to assess the knowledge regarding
Breast cancer among selected students of Rajkiya Kanya
Mahavidyalaya ,Shimla , Himachal Pradesh.
OBJECTIVES:-
 To assess the pre-existing knowledge regarding breast cancer among selected students of
Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shimla , Himachal Pradesh .
 To develop and administer a structured teaching program on knowledge regarding breast
cancer among students.
 To determine the effectiveness of structured teaching program on knowledge regarding breast
cancer among students.
 To determine the association of knowledge score regarding breast cancer among students with
selected selected demographic variables.
NEED OF THE STUDY
Breast cancer is a significant public health concern worldwide, with
India being no exception. According to the Indian Council of Medical
Research (ICMR), breast cancer is the most common cancer among
women in India, accounting for 25% of all cancer cases
(1)Despite the increasing incidence of breast cancer, there is a lack of
awareness about the disease among the general population, particularly
among young women.
(2)A study conducted among college students in India revealed that
only 22% of the students had adequate knowledge about breast cancer.
3.] RKMV College, Shimla, HP, is a premier educational institution
in the region, with a large number of female students. However, there
is a lack of awareness about breast cancer among these students,
which can lead to delayed diagnosis and poor health
outcomes.Therefore, this study aims to assess the effectiveness of a
structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding breast cancer
among selected students of RKMV College, Shimla, HP. The study
will help bridge the knowledge gap about breast cancer among young
women and promote early detection and prevention of the disease.

million cases.
(1)Despite the increasing prevalence of diabetes, there is a lack of awareness
about the disease among the general population, particularly among young
adults.
A study conducted among college students in India found that only 30% of the
students had adequate knowledge about diabetes.
(2)PG College, Rampur, BSR, HP, is a premier educational institution in the region, with a
large number of students. However, there is a lack of awareness about diabetes among these
students, which can lead to delayed diagnosis and poor health outcomes.
The traditional teaching methods used in the college may not be effective in promoting
awareness about diabetes among students. Therefore, there is a need to explore alternative
teaching methods, such as video teaching programmes, to promote awareness about diabetes
among students.
This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a video teaching programme on knowledge
regarding diabetes mellitus among selected students of PG College, Rampur, BSR, HP.
The study will help to bridge the knowledge gap about diabetes among students and promote
early detection and prevention of the disease.

Varicose vein among police officers working at
selected police station, Rampur Bushahr District,

the condition, its risk factors, symptoms, and management. A study conducted among police
officers in India found that only 20% of the participants had adequate knowledge about
varicose veins.
(3).Planned teaching programme have been shown to be effective in improving knowledge
and awareness about various health topics, including varicose veins. However, there is a lack
of studies evaluating the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge
regarding varicose veins among police officers.
Therefore, this quasi-experimental study aims to assess the effectiveness of a planned teaching
programm on knowledge regarding varicose veins among police officers working at selected
police stations in Rampur, BSR, HP.
The study will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of planned teaching programme
in improving knowledge and awareness about varicose veins among police officers.

among army soldiers at Annandale ,Shimla ,
Himachal pradesh .
OBJECTIVES:-

techniques among army soldiers at Annandale, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

various factors such as physical exertion, stress, and exposure to extreme
temperatures
.3. Limited studies: There is a limited number of studies conducted on the
effectiveness of structured teaching programmes on knowledge regarding CPR
techniques among army soldiers.

OF MINT LEAVES PASTE WITH HONEY ON DYSMENORRHEA
AMONG NURSING STUDENTS OF SHIMLA NURSING COLLEGE,

AIM OF THE STUDY
The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness
of mint leaves paste with honey on Dysmenorrhea
among Nursing students of Shimla Nursing
College ,Shurala ,Shimla , Himachal Pradesh.
OBJECTIVES:-
 To assess the Dysmenorrhea among Selected students of Shimla Nursing College,
Shurala, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh and select the study subjects in experimental group.
 To Prepare and administer the Mint leaves paste with honey among students in
experimental Group.
 To Evaluate the effectiveness of Mint leaves with honey on Dysmenorrhea among
experimental Group.
 To find out the association of mint leaves paste with honey on Dysmenorrhea among
students with demographic variables in experimental control Group.
NEED OF THE STUDY
Dysmenorrhea, or painful menstruation, is a common problem affecting millions
of women worldwide, including India. According to the World Health
Organization (WHO), approximately 80% of women experience dysmenorrhea
at some point in their lives .
(1).Nursing students, in particular, are vulnerable to dysmenorrhea due to their
demanding academic schedules, lack of physical activity, and poor dietary
habits. A study conducted among nursing students in India found that 70% of the
students experienced dysmenorrhea, which significantly affected their daily
activities and academic performance.
(2).Despite the high prevalence of dysmenorrhea, many women rely on over-the-counter pain
medications, which can have adverse effects and do not address the underlying causes of
dysmenorrhea . There is a need for alternative, natural, and cost-effective remedies to manage
dysmenorrhea .
Mint leaves paste with honey has been traditionally used to alleviate menstrual cramps and
other symptoms associated with dysmenorrhea. However, there is limited scientific evidence to
support its effectiveness .
Therefore, this experimental study aims to assess the effectiveness of mint leaves paste with
honey on dysmenorrhea among nursing students of Shimla Nursing College, HP. The study
will provide valuable insights into the efficacy of this natural remedy and contribute to the
development of alternative therapies for managing dysmenorrhea.
