This document summarizes and compares two magazine advertisements - one for famous musician Bob Dylan promoting his new album releasing on October 18th, which features a younger picture of him to promote the recordings that made him famous. The other advertisement is for the new band The Holloways, which does not include a picture of the band but uses contrasting blue and yellow colors and an image of a boy holding an old newspaper poster to promote their debut album title in a bold headline style to appeal to readers.
1. In this first slide you can see an album article for the
famous Bob Dylan, who is releasing his latest album
on the 18th of October you can see Bob Dylan as his
younger self in the picture on the right hand side of
the page, this is because they are advertising the
recordings that made him famous. As you can see
there are a few different font types, this draws in
the reader to read all of the printed text. The
difference between this and the other magazine ad
is that this has a picture of the artist although Bob
Dylan is very famous they can promote him by
putting his face on the advert which is a contrast to
the other magazine advert because he is a legend
therefore people already know who he is.
2. This is a magazine advert for The Holloways,
they are a new band and although they do not
show the band in the photo it is interesting
because of the contrasting colours blue and
yellow which draws the reader in they also have
a picture of a young boy holding a poster for an
old newspaper this was probably a photo from
the 1930’s and the band have changed the title
to the name of their debut album which shows
that it is sort of like a big headline all of the
news papers which also makes it more
appealing.
