Research notes on new album Cheryl Cole – 3 Words
This is her CD cover for the album and it's very classy and they decide to focus on her best feature being the face. The good thing about this cover is it's very simple but it works, they have a dull background of just what looks like some grey paint being quickly smothered on in contrast to her head gear that she has on.  On her shoulder is what at first you think is a tattoo but in fact it's just made to look like that and it's just the title of her album. And the font they have used is very posh and it completely goes with the whole theme. On a CD cover it is almost a must to get the artist looking at the camera and Cheryl does that in a very enticing way. ALBUM COVER
This is an interview Cheryl Cole recently done on T4, this was the week leading up to her album being released so she would have been told by her record label 'Polydor' to promote her album. T4 is the perfect thing to go on because the audience is the same as Cheryl Cole's, mid teens too early 20s. It's also on at a prime time on a Sunday so it get high viewer ratings. She is being interviewed by a very likeable presenter Steve Jones who is very witty so he will make her sound far more interesting and funny if she isn't interviewing that well. At first they mention the single then lead up to mentioning her new album. All together there mentioned very reguarly so as the audience your not going to forget what her album is called incase you want to buy it. TV INTERVIEW
These are two performances that I saw of Cheryl Cole, both were with in week of each other, this would have been her promotional week. Being told by her Label that she needs to get her single herd so by performing on X factor where millions of people watch. Also what she is wearing is the theme for her album so she is dressed sort of military with lots of dancer dressed similar. X factor for an artist is the perfect thing to perform on if you looking to promote a single/album because almost 15million people tune into it. Also with Cheryl Cole being a judge on the X factor it's a good idea for her to sing as well because the people who tune into X factor will be admirers of hers so it's likely they will want to buy her album. TV PERFORMANCES
This is just an example of another promotional aspect for Cheryl Cole's latest album '3 Words'. As you can see she is dressed in the same sort of military style she was in her X factor performance. Although the advert is only ten seconds long that is her song being played for that time on commercial TV quite regularly for that week. TV adverts are a very important media type when your trying to sell something but now with the internet it is becoming more apparent that averts are being shown on online TV and that is what's believed to be the future. Which is meaning that more and more advertisers are pulling the plug on advertising on TV and just going online. ADVERTS
SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES I got two print screens of two very popular social networking sites i.e. Myspace and Bebo, she has her own page and on each one she has had millions of views on each page and she also has just as many friends. This means if she advertises her new album then the probability is that the people who view her page will be intrigued and interested in her music. Meaning going and buying it. This is a very good way to promote your album because it is a very popular way of young teenagers to communicate with each other and that I would say is mainly Cheryl audience. If you look on the Myspace page she has got many different ways you can buy her album, HMV, iTunes, PLAY.com etc. Also these social sites enable you to play a small clip of a song or even the whole version so you can get a taster of her album.

Album Cover - Research

  • 1. Research notes on new album Cheryl Cole – 3 Words
  • 2. This is her CD cover for the album and it's very classy and they decide to focus on her best feature being the face. The good thing about this cover is it's very simple but it works, they have a dull background of just what looks like some grey paint being quickly smothered on in contrast to her head gear that she has on. On her shoulder is what at first you think is a tattoo but in fact it's just made to look like that and it's just the title of her album. And the font they have used is very posh and it completely goes with the whole theme. On a CD cover it is almost a must to get the artist looking at the camera and Cheryl does that in a very enticing way. ALBUM COVER
  • 3. This is an interview Cheryl Cole recently done on T4, this was the week leading up to her album being released so she would have been told by her record label 'Polydor' to promote her album. T4 is the perfect thing to go on because the audience is the same as Cheryl Cole's, mid teens too early 20s. It's also on at a prime time on a Sunday so it get high viewer ratings. She is being interviewed by a very likeable presenter Steve Jones who is very witty so he will make her sound far more interesting and funny if she isn't interviewing that well. At first they mention the single then lead up to mentioning her new album. All together there mentioned very reguarly so as the audience your not going to forget what her album is called incase you want to buy it. TV INTERVIEW
  • 4. These are two performances that I saw of Cheryl Cole, both were with in week of each other, this would have been her promotional week. Being told by her Label that she needs to get her single herd so by performing on X factor where millions of people watch. Also what she is wearing is the theme for her album so she is dressed sort of military with lots of dancer dressed similar. X factor for an artist is the perfect thing to perform on if you looking to promote a single/album because almost 15million people tune into it. Also with Cheryl Cole being a judge on the X factor it's a good idea for her to sing as well because the people who tune into X factor will be admirers of hers so it's likely they will want to buy her album.   • 5. This is just an example of another promotional aspect for Cheryl Cole's latest album '3 Words'. As you can see she is dressed in the same sort of military style she was in her X factor performance. Although the advert is only ten seconds long that is her song being played for that time on commercial TV quite regularly for that week. TV adverts are a very important media type when your trying to sell something but now with the internet it is becoming more apparent that averts are being shown on online TV and that is what's believed to be the future. Which is meaning that more and more advertisers are pulling the plug on advertising on TV and just going online. ADVERTS

SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES I got two print screens of two very popular social networking sites i.e. Myspace and Bebo, she has her own page and on each one she has had millions of views on each page and she also has just as many friends. This means if she advertises her new album then the probability is that the people who view her page will be intrigued and interested in her music. Meaning going and buying it. This is a very good way to promote your album because it is a very popular way of young teenagers to communicate with each other and that I would say is mainly Cheryl audience. If you look on the Myspace page she has got many different ways you can buy her album, HMV, iTunes, PLAY.com etc. Also these social sites enable you to play a small clip of a song or even the whole version so you can get a taster of her album.
