Jack Munge used several media technologies at different stages of his media production coursework. He used Adobe Premiere Pro for editing vox pops during research, and then to construct his music video by editing footage and applying effects. He uploaded work to YouTube to share on his blog. Slideshare and Prezi were used to create and share presentations during planning and evaluation. Blogger allowed him to document his entire process through blog posts. Facebook Messenger helped communicate with group members to organize shoots.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

1. Media Studies Evaluation – Question
4: How did you use media
technologies in the construction and
research, planning and evaluation
stages?
Jack Munge
2. Adobe Premiere Pro
Overall for my media production work, I have used a lot of different pieces of software that have helped me in the various
stages in creating my work from the music video itself to the designing of the CD cover. Specifically, Adobe Premiere Pro is a
piece of software that has helped me at various stages of production for my media coursework. Adobe Premiere Pro is
primarily used as an editing suite that has advanced capabilities in producing quality production of videos. Before starting my
media coursework, I had never previously used this software so when it came down to first using it for the research stage of my
production it was quite a new experience and took a while to get used to. Having played around with the software and got to
grips with the basics, I began to use the software properly for my coursework in the research stage and the task in particular
was to get some audience feedback that I could act upon via filming and editing vox pops. This required the use of Premiere
Pro after I had filmed my vox pops and gave me greater understanding of the software's capabilities in editing before
eventually moving on to using Premiere Pro for the editing of the music video. Using Premiere Pro to edit my vox pops
audience research I was able to use tools on the software such as video transitions, including cross dissolve on clips in order to
make editing transitions between clips smoother and the text tool to highlight the questions I was asking during the vox pops
interviews. I also used the cut tool in order to trim each clip that was filmed in the vox pops to make it more professional and
technical. Following on from that, having got experience using Premiere for the vox pops production I then had to use the
software for a main and integral part of my coursework, which was the music video itself. Although I had got experience from
the software through planning I now had to use Premiere for the construction process of my coursework by using it to edit the
music video. Obviously this would require a more in depth use of the software and a much more frequent use of it too as
producing a music video from scratch will take time with ideas still to take shape in the production. For the music video I used
some different tools compared to the ones I used for the vox pops production. I used the black and white effect on the clips for
the beginning of the music video to create a flashback and emotive effect. I also used the colour correction tool to ensure that
all of the clips weren’t too dark and had the right amount of vibrancy and colour to them to ensure all the clips seemed even
throughout. Furthermore the brightness and contrast tool on Premiere was also used in conjunction with colour correction.
This had to be used as some of the clips were a bit dark or too bright in places, so using this tool allowed the video to maintain
professionalism but also the clarity of the clips used in the music video would be greater from this. In the production of the
music video using Premiere I was also able to use jump cuts using the razor tool so not only did Premiere give me the
opportunity to use different video effects and transitions it gave me a greater understanding and use of various editing
techniques such as jump cuts.
3. YouTube
YouTube is a service that I have used very much in conjunction
with Premiere Pro with the work I have produced in that
software. YouTube is a video sharing platform that is available
for anyone to use. YouTube has allowed me to upload various
media that I have produced from planning to production
stages including the vox pops audience research, music video
bloopers and the music video itself. By uploading these onto
YouTube I have been able to share them on my blog. YouTube
has been an easy website to use for this and it is clear and
easy to embed the videos onto the blog that I have for my
media project. I chose to use YouTube over any other video
sharing site as it is the easiest and most efficient to use with
the same login that can be used for the blog for YouTube as
well so it has strong links to other software and websites that I
am using.
4. Slideshare/Prezi
Slideshare is a presentation sharing website and Prezi is similar to
Slideshare but allows creation of custom presentations. Slideshare is a
website that I have been using quite frequently in conjunction with
work I have done on PowerPoint. This evaluation question that I am
doing as well as props list and song selection have all involved the use
of Slideshare. Slideshare is quite a useful service and similar to
YouTube allows you to upload and embed PowerPoint presentations
with ease. I have used Slideshare for mainly research and planning
work but also for this evaluation question too. With regards to Prezi,
which is quite similar to Slideshare in the sense it deals with
presentations, I have used this service to create presentations from
research to evaluation. Prezi offers a service that software such as
PowerPoint doesn’t offer. It has various transition animations and
themes that can be chosen from and makes presentations a lot more
interesting, different but also unique too. Presentations can be turned
into videos almost with Prezi. They offer different transitions between
slides and lots of customisation too.
5. Blogger
Blogger is probably the most important service that I am using
for my media coursework. Blogger does what it says in the
sense that it is a blogging platform that allows users to post a
variety of media to it. Blogger has allowed me to record all of
the coursework I have done so far and everything that has
been completed in construction, research, planning and
evaluation stages have been posted to Blogger. Using a blog
rather than any other form of presenting all the work that has
been done for coursework is a lot easier as you can arrange
what order you want specific blog posts to go in. For example,
if you have a really unorganised blog and want to have
everything in the correct order you can change the date and
time of specific posts to make it easier to order things,
meaning better organisation of work and easier viewing too as
the website is very much accessible.
6. Facebook Messenger
Facebook Messenger is a form of messaging
service that I have used for my media
coursework. Although not using it to directly
improve or effect my media coursework
messenger has been a way that I have been able
to communicate with other group members in
order to organise times for various tasks such as
filming for the music video and organising and
ensuring equipment is ready and working.
