Evaluation Question 4

1. How did you use media
technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation
stages?

2.  When considering the technological devices and technology which I consider there was a large range. I
used a huge range of technology which would include digital cameras to different software's. This
would also include a range of software which I have never used in such depth. Throughout the process I
was able to learn lot which would include factors such as how to use software correctly. What the
correct way would be to use the camera which would include a tripod. The correct way to edit the video
which is still a good quality and professional standard. The fact that I was using certain technology
made the process easier and more enjoyable. Another beneficial factor would be that the technology
used enabled me to see what other film makers needed to use to gather there research.
These are the technologies which I used when creating my music videos:

Blogging Prezi
Digital camera Photoshop

3. Digital Camera
 To take our pictures for the Digipaks and the advertisement poster we
used a canon camera which was a very complex camera which had a
number of functions which were able to be used. This therefore
allowed us to create some great shots which personally I believe is
shown within the advertisement poster. I was able to teach myself the
basics with the camera and factors such as changing lighting levels.
When consider other companies and music companies I personally
believe that the camera used would be extremely popular as it
produces a good professional quality image.

4. Blogger
 A software which I used to show my production work
would be blogger. This software allowed me to present all
of my coursework including AS music magazine and also
A2 music video. Personally I had never used blogger myself
which means that it allows me to have a new concept
which is extremely simplistic and I believe it allowed me to
emphasise my maximum potential. Therefore it has allowed
me to present all of my work and also enables my teacher
to see my work and I can also receive feedback on my
work. Another beneficial factor would be that it also allows
me to organise my work. The website blogger also allows
me to embed videos which is even more beneficial.

5. YouTube
 Another online piece of technology would be YouTube which I have previously
has experience with to search trailers, music videos, celebrities channels. However
before carrying out my research I did not realise how powerful and popular the
website is. This programme was useful as it allows me to see others work which
allowed me to have inspiration from other work. By having an account it meant
that I was able to have upload videos,
comment on other work and share on websites
such as Blogger, Twitter and Facebook.
Another beneficial factor would be that the
public are able to comment as well.

6. Facebook & Twitter
 Social media is extremely popular especially when considering my target
audience due to the fact that it has a large influence within our lives. Even if
you haven’t dealt with social media it is really easy to pick it up and be
quick. To gain feedback a quicker version to do so would be to upload
footage or questions on twitter and I was able to gain a great response.
Another beneficial factor would be that It would be a wide range of people
instead of people just within one area.

7. Photoshop
 To create all my production work which would include Digipaks and advertisement poster I opted to
do the editing on photoshop. Originally when starting to use my photoshop I had no skills with the
software. However over the time I was able to pick up skills which would include editing photos,
applying filters , cropping out images to apply to the products. Also within photoshop the programme
allowed me to add text and any logos or content this would include my logo which I also made on
photoshop. Also within the Digipak a barcode needed to be added so you are able to find images and
add them to the products you are producing. You can be incredibly creative when considering the
programme. When considering the tools I used on the images to give them the professional finish I
used tools such as sharpen.

8. Premiere Pro
 I used premier pro when creating my Vox pops and music video. This
programme was very approachable and also allowed me to experiment
easily. Personally I was easily able to add my song and also to include all the
footage which I recorded and was able to edit the footage. When important
all my footage I was able to make the cuts easier. For example on some of
the footage an effect which I used on some which lightened the footage
which made it more similar to the other footage. So by adjusting the
brightness and contrast which makes it more professional. Then you have to
consider the video transition which would include factors such as cross
dissolve, film dissolve and to finish the video I opted to close it on dip to
black. Throughout the video it included different editing skills such as
increasing the speed of footage and the duration. By doing so it makes the
footage more exciting and allows the footage to connect to the song and
the pace of the song.

9. Google Drive
 When using the google drive it is very beneficial due to the fact that it allows you to access
Google documents and also good slides. Both sources always save automatically and another
beneficial factor would be that I would be able to access my work from home. This therefore
makes the whole process quicker. Another beneficial factor as it allowed me to easily embed
work onto blogger and also the good slides is a different format compared to Microsoft
Office. I am able to access the cloud which therefore means I can work at school or at home.
 Another beneficial factor would be that I would be able to access any work of which my
teacher has shared. This shows that over time technology has evolved as people are able to
access a lot more online by using the internet. Also multiple people are able to access work
which makes group work and group feedback clearer.
