The document summarizes the key design elements and conventions used in the student's media coursework magazine project. For the front cover, the student manipulated text around the main image of a model making direct eye contact with the viewer. Interior pages included attitude-portraying photos in the contents page and a double-page article spread with compact text in three columns next to a large supporting image, arranged efficiently without blank space. The student followed conventions of music magazines and aimed to grab audience attention through choice of famous artists and unique font design.
This the power point presentation I made and used for my presentation in History of Math. Pardon me for not being able to cite ALL of my references through out the presentation. (one day I will). It is not detailed and perfect, but I am hoping that in a way, it may help you a hint on where to start to study about him and his works.
Information known about his life and SOME of his contributions will be found in this books. I merely focused on his first book, liber abbaci, so if you wish to see more of his contributions, look out for his other writings. (there are lots of articles online about him, just look for them and read them)
Fibonacci, the most famous mathematician from Pisa, Italy during the medieval period, is the man behind the fibonacci sequence and the popularization of the Hindu-Arabic Numeral System to Europe. Learn some things about him and his contributions through this.

2. My magazine follows the conventions of a real
music magazine as it has a mast head in top left
corner and it is the biggest text on the page. Also,
I have kept my colour scheme to a minimum to
keep my magazine looking professional and not
all over the place. I made sure that I manipulated
the text to frame my image on the front page,
ensuring that no text is covering her face, which
is the main focus of the front page. When I was
taking the image, I asked my model to look
directly down the camera lens (direct address).
Direct address is used to catch the reader’s
attention. The person on the front cover will look
down the lens so that it appears that they are
looking at you wherever you move to in the
room. Also, I have picked the most famous/well
known artists and bands to grab my audience’s
attention and make them interested in what
could be inside my magazine. Also, I have used
my own unique font which I have resized,
stretched, and fitted perfectly to frame my image
therefore it makes my font unique.
3. In my contents page images, I asked my models to portray attitude in their face which is a code
and convention of any music magazine. I also used the code and convention of including
regulars and features which shows that my magazine is a monthly magazine. I also ensured that
my contents page was dominated by images and that was the first thing that my audience
looked at.
4. For my double page spread, I used a basic layout, therefore the reader would not
have too much to look at and devote their full attention to reading the article and
looking at the one image. I kept my text very small and compact as it was long piece
of text, I set it out into three columns and then placed my image next to it, the image
took up one page and the text took up another page. I arranged my text and image in
a way that would not waste space , therefore not making it look like there was any
blank spaces.
