7. Positives Negatives
The audeince were hooked The audience would have
throughout the whole trailer. liked to have seen some
more exciting shots, like the

characters and narrative well,
the audeince felt as if they They felt as if the trailer was
had a connection with Katie a bit flat, by this I mean, the

the same, and didn't match
They thought I was successful the action on screen
in constructing such a feared
villain, they all want to watch
the film to find out who he is.
The mood to the trailer is
incredibly eerie/dark and
certainly lives up to
conventions.
Good mixture of different
shots, depicting vulnerability
of some characters (birds eye
view)
8. Positives Negatives
They loved the set up of the shot and how key No negatives what
props that have meaning within the film are on so ever
the poster. (The poster reveals he narrative in
itself because of this, i.e. the blood splattered
photograph of school children, combined with
the weapons suggest that the photo is the
villains hit list and that he is torturing them on
the chair in the background.
Lives up to typical poster conventions (date of
release, website, actors names, a quote,
tagline, film name, and producer)
They all agreed that the poster looks incredibly
professional and screams out that its a horror
film poster, they thought the gritty black and
white effect helps achieve this, it makes it look
distressing and grainy.
They loved how visually pleasing it is to the eye,
with the text displayed over certain objects on
the poster (like the film name and the actors)
They instantly identified that it is a poster
9. Positives Negatives
They all knew that it was a magazine Some said that perhaps

which is essential. across the whole of the
top
They liked the name and the quirky
font, saying that it differentiates
from existing magazines, making it
more sellable
They said it follows forms and
conventions with the layout (picture
slightly to one side, name at the top,
other stories around the side)
The audeince said that it is clear that
the main image sets a particular
mood for the magazine , that the
cover represents the genre of the
main film featured (Nostalgic
Revenge)
The word ‘exclusive’ made them feel
special, and is if they would find out
the latest gossip if they bought the
magazine
10. I have learned a great deal from my audience, their feedback shaped my entire planning
and construction of my three products, by talking to them first hand through primary
research I discovered what they expect to see in psychological horrors, what they enjoy
and why they enjoy them so much. This enabled me to create a film that my target
audeince should love.
The Feedback post production was generally positive and pleasing, my three products
were a success. The audeince liked how I used synergy, saying it is clear that my products
all link together, and that I have created a brand that they can identify with.
Also I have took on board the audiences negatives and have already thought of ways of
how i could improve my trailer, they taught me to spice up the ending a bit, I've thought
of an alternative ending: a fast paced montage of shots (with fast paced music) of the
villain pouring petrol over Katie, whilst cutting away to Josh desperately running towards
the villains lair to find his girlfriend. Josh barges through the door as he villain strikes a
match, and then it ends to leave the audeince on the edge of their seats wanting to find
out what happens, this could attract more viewers.
I feel as if the audience have helped me to develop my skills and knowledge.
