Thomas Newman evaluates his media product, a magazine interviewing an artist. He discusses how it uses real magazine conventions like covers with headlines and photos. He represents the R&B/hip-hop genre through fonts and pictures that would attract fans of that music. The target audience is 14-21 year olds who enjoy rap music, represented through bold fonts and large photos with minimal text. Newman learned skills in editing images and fonts to construct the magazine.

The simplified electron and muon model, Oscillating Spacetime: The Foundation...RitikBhardwaj56
Discover the Simplified Electron and Muon Model: A New Wave-Based Approach to Understanding Particles delves into a groundbreaking theory that presents electrons and muons as rotating soliton waves within oscillating spacetime. Geared towards students, researchers, and science buffs, this book breaks down complex ideas into simple explanations. It covers topics such as electron waves, temporal dynamics, and the implications of this model on particle physics. With clear illustrations and easy-to-follow explanations, readers will gain a new outlook on the universe's fundamental nature.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conversations of real media products? On most front covers of magazines, they will have a main picture and headings, sub-headings with pictures and there name of the magazine, also some main include free gifts to be won etc. As my front cover shows it has all the attributes and therefore is like a real media product. I have used a real name of an artist for my interview and used some facts on him that I know to do the interview and make it sound even more realistic. As you can see to the left, I have used the artists name effectively by having it in big bold writing to make people attracted to do it like in a real magazine when you see a big artist name on it, it attracts you to that magazine
3. How does your product represent particular social groups? My magazine was based on R&B and Hip/Hop. I believe I have done this well by using fonts and pictures that attracts the social groups that like that type of genre of music. If a social group that liked rock music they would not be attracted at all to this magazine and it has so style of rock by the fonts or pictures, so therefore I believe I have done this very successfully. As you can see here, I have used big bold fonts, associated with the genre of music which attracts that type of social group.
4. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? The main social institution at this current time tend to prefer things with sex, drugs, violence in them as many people enjoy reading about them. In my magazine I have used different types of writing styles to attract all kind of people. For example on my interview page, in the interview with my artist it says he was on steriods for 2 years, this attracts the main social institution to the magazine.
5. Who would be the audience for your media product? I based my magazine on an audience between 14-21 and listen to rap like music, so for people who tend to wear the stereo type of a gangster or rude boy. I have done this by using big bold fonts and big pictures and not a lot or complex writing as it attracts the eye of my target audience, as you can see on my contents page I have used many big bold fonts with not a lot of writing. By doing so this makes my target audience more interest in it rather than a magazine with lots of writing and not many pictures.
6. How did you attract/address your audience? As my target audience are ages between 14-21, many people that age tend to not like a lot of writing on the magazine but many pictures and not much writing, compared to older people who tend to like the opposite. I have done this by having big pictures and fonts, with writing underneath the heading’s explaining the topic, therefore not making it to boring for the targeted audience but still giving them information in a more attractive way. I got my research by constructing a questionnaire for people that I thought what would be my target audience and used the results to help me. Here I have used many pictures to attract the audience

8. Editing fonts like two colours in them etc.Overall constructing this product has helped me for future things I may need to do
9. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? As you can see on the left I think there is a huge difference between the quality of the two magazines and how much more eye catchin my final product is compared to the preliminary task. During that time I have progressed hugely in how to make a good magazine that people would buy. I learnt more skills which allowed me to make the final product better quality than the first task. Overall I was very pleased with the progression made.
