6. FAKE NEWS:
Stories that aren’t true/ Stories that have some
truth but aren’t 100% accurate
Approach what you see/hear rationally &
critically
Fake news is made to sound totally believable, and also written to
create a “shock value” which makes it more shareable/viral.
Check if the source is credible
Do some digging and check if the news sits on a credible page.
Note if other credible sources are picking up
the story.
Images can be deceiving. With the best editing software
readily available, don’t always take what you see at face value.
How to Spot Fake News
7. The internet is written in ink; whatever we post online can
be permanent.
Social media moves at an epic speed. Always think fast.
Going back and deleting the post is not sufficient.
What you post online represents you as a person.
If you wonder, “Should I post this?”, then DON’T.
Be prepared to take responsibility for your social
interactions online.
Ensure that you have your face masks on in all photos
taken on campus which you post on social media (while
SMM are still in place).

Do not release your own
statements or personal
comments to the media,
without CCD’s knowledge.
