1. WHAT IS THIS SUBJECT ABOUT?
This subject focuses on how companies adopt both business strategies
and technologies to conduct business online. It will address the trends,
ethical, social and legal Issues in E-Commerce. It will also focus on digital
marketing strategies to achieve marketing goals.
It aims to equip the students with the knowledge and skills to:
• Identify business and technology issues related to E-Commerce;
• Apply the concepts and practices of digital and social media
marketing; and
• Develop E-Commerce solutions using an appropriate E-
Commerce platform.
2. HOW WILL THIS SUBJECT BE CONDUCTED?
Tutorial
Students will be introduced to the different topics through a variety of
lesson materials and learning activities like quizzes, case studies, group
discussions and sharing.
Hands-on
Through hands-on practical lessons/exercises, students will be equipped
to use software tools to do E-Commerce.
Online Learning
Online teaching methods such as videos, online forums and quizzes will
be used to expand students’ learning horizon where appropriate.

This subject is 100% coursework based.

4.1 Website Creation Project (Individual - 35%)
Refer LMS details to be released in LMS. Study guide will be updated after it is
released.
4.2 Digital Marketing Project (Group – 30%)
Refer LMS details to be released in LMS. Study guide will be updated after it is
released.
4.3 Online Assessment (25%)
In each week tutorial, there will be online activities to complete, you are to
submit these activities by the end of each tutorial to score for these activities.
This will make up 15% of the component marks. Students who are absent
without valid reason will not be allowed to attempt.
In week 14, you will need to complete an open book online quiz according to
the stipulated deadline. This will constitute 10% of the component marks.

All assessment must be submitted on time. There will be penalty for late
submission.

combination of the following criteria:
• How regular is the attendance for
tutorial/lab sessions
• Punctuality for tutorial/lab sessions
• Attitude, participation, and
preparedness during tutorial sessions
• Contributions in during class
activities
Good 8 to 10
Fair 5 to 7
Poor 0 to 5
Late Submission Penalty
Less than or equal to 24 hours after deadline 10% of maximum marks
More than 24 hrs to less than or equal to 48
hrs after deadline
20% of maximum marks
After 48 hours Will not be marked – XF
