14. Student Disciplinary Policy & Code of Conduct
• Students are expected to maintain and uphold the highest
standards of integrity and honesty.
• You are expected to (positive behaviours):
a. Treat one another with mutual respect and dignity in interactions and
communications. Be polite and refrain from using foul langauges.
b. Embrace diversity (culture and religion). Refrain from making
sensitive comments and jokes that would hurt the harmony of the
community
c. Uphold the good reputation of Temasek Polytechnic.
15. Student Disciplinary Policy & Code of Conduct
• TP has Zero tolerance for sexual misconduct &
inappropriate behavior
✓ Sexual Misconduct - E.g. Sexual Assault, outrage of
modesty, voyeuristic act
✓ Inappropriate Behaviour – E.g. Bullying, harassment,
hazing
• Perpetrators of sexual misconduct will be dealt with
severely and face disciplinary and legal consequences.
16. Consequences For Such Offences
• Sexual Misconduct and Bullying/Harassment are categorized as
CAT 1 offence in TP Student Disciplinary Policy.
• Punitive actions, such as warning letter, corrective works order,
community work and making restitution, fail grade for subjects,
suspension from course of study for a minimum period of one
semester and even dismissal from the Polytechnic, may be meted
out by the Polytechnic.
• The Polytechnic has a legal duty to report the offence to the police
if it constitutes a mandatory reportable offence under the law.
17. AVENUES & SUPPORT MECHANISMS IN TP
• Inform your Care Person, Tutor, Course Chair or any TP staff
if you see or encounter any such misconduct or
inappropriate behaviour.
• You can also report such offences to the campus security at
67805999 or the SDAA Hotline at sdaa@tp.edu.sg. All
reports will be treated confidentially & with discretion.
