-Building of integrated resorts & casinos
S’pore Government saw that people are getting bored of visiting Singapore,
and was worried that the tourists numbers may drop. Hence, they went ahead
with the idea of building 2 IRs at Marina Bay & Sentosa. They believed that by
building casinoes, S’pore will attract many tourists and investors to visit and
spend money at. In this way, this will boost the economy of Singapore’s. The
idea definitely worked and till this day, many investors and tourists are still
coming in to Singapore just for the 2 IRs.

-Government planning ahead, far foresight.
Government knew that Singapore, a country without any natural resources,
could not always depend on only one energy resource. The Government
anticipated this and explored means to create different forms to fuel our public
objects such as the gigantic fan at MBS. They saw that many people will be
using the fans, however they do not want to waste too much electricity.
Therefore, they built solar panels on top of the structure, so the solar energy
could be converted to electric energy to power the fans.

8. A Stake for Everyone,
Opportunities for All
• Government give Singaporeans a chance to
voice out.
Government heard the protests of the idea for setting
up casinos, as people were worried for the well-being
of Singaporeans. Hence, the Government tried to solve
these problems and worries by implementing a policy
that states, Singaporeans who enter the casinos will
have to pay an entrance fee of $100, to discourage
hem from gambling.

• Casinos are meant to boost Singapore’s
economy, not meant to harm the well-being of
Singaporeans.
• Singapore is using means to conserve energy
and go green e.g. solar panel fan.
• For a country with no natural resources, we
must be fully responsible for our own survival.
