Maximilien Robespierre (1758-1794) was a French lawyer and politician who became one of the most influential figures of the French Revolution. He was educated in Paris and became a lawyer like his father. Robespierre became known for his attacks on the monarchy and advocacy for democratic reforms. After the fall of the monarchy in 1792, he was elected to the National Convention where he helped abolish the monarchy and establish a French Republic.
