surveyonSurveyMonkey,toreveal whatismost desiredinamusicvideo,tohelpwithcoursework
tasks.
QuestionOne-
I askedthisquestiontogaina betterunderstandingof what
audience are interestedinmusicvideos.Ikeptthe highest
age at 20+ as I assumedmusicvideoswouldmostlybe aimed
at a youngeraudience ratherthananolderone.With20% of
the people surveyedbeing15 -17 and a majority(80%) being
18 or over.Thismeansthat my audience are mostlygoingto
be over18 meaningthe themesof the videowouldbe
understoodfurtherandwouldbe more relatableasmuchof
our musicvideoisrelatedtoyouth.

Thisquestionwassimplytofindoutthe possible genderof
the audience,whichappearstobe mostlyfemale (roughly
77%). Because of this,our videoismainlyaimedatafemale
audience asitfollowsthemesof female relationshipsand
feministissuesof oppressionandfemale sexuality. With
only22% of people surveyedbeingmale we decidednotto
include alotof male footage inourvideodue tothe video
beinga female orientatedvideo.

whatsong to choose forthe videoas itwas in
betweenapopartistor an Indie/Alternativeartist-
Halsey.With40% of people surveyedchoosingIndie
as theirfavourite genre of music,andafurther10%
choosing‘Alternative’inthe ‘other’option,Ibelieve
we have made the right choice inour song,it
definitelyseemstofitthe targetaudience. Inthis
question50% of people chose indie/alternativeas
theirfavourite genre andthe other50% chose
varyingmusicgenres.Thisprovedtousthat our
audience hasa wide range of genre preferences.

thismarketresearch for example respondentsconcludedthattheirfavourite genre was
indie/alternative meaningthatthe majorityof people wouldlike ourartistandmusicvideoasit
