Cloud technologies are a global trend being pushed forward by large international companies and supported by local Russian players. There are demands in Russia for accessing data from any device or location, optimizing corporate IT expenses through cloud services, and cloud computing. Cloud technologies are relevant for both consumers and corporations in Russia. The consumer sector has seen growing internet access and usage of mobile devices and apps, and cloud services like gaming and storage are popular. However, the corporate cloud services market is still small at $47 million in 2011, though expected to grow 50% annually. Opportunities exist in social gaming and private/IaaS/SaaS clouds as Russian companies build new data centers.
