In almost every conversation, I’m astounded by the amount of folks who mention the recent disruption that’s occurred in this industry. As the old adage goes: “…the only constant has been change.” Digital disruption has fueled digital transformation, and with the proliferation of companies offering broader arrays of services, enterprises are scrambling to keep up and offer newer and better things.
There’s been major consolidation across Telco and Media, and the fight for audience and revenue is more fierce than ever. As we have seen in these last few weeks, there have been industry changing merger talks between Warner Media and Discovery, Bouygues and M6 Groupe from Bertelsmann, and even Amazon and MGM. While we’re proud and confident in our most recent acquisitions, it’s safe to say that the competition is heating up.
The cloud service provider report sponsored by emc - issue 15 -- june-july 2011Mountaha

This document provides an overview of cloud computing including definitions, opportunities for IT suppliers, reasons for adopting cloud computing, market projections, trends compared to service-oriented architecture, market components, customer value, challenges, and the federal government's involvement in cloud computing. It discusses the Defense Information Systems Agency's view of cloud computing as essential, examples of federal agencies using cloud services, and the Obama administration's technology team envisioning a federal cloud.
Cloud computing is the centerpiece of the world's technological feedback to the COVID-19 dilemma. Indeed, the leading public cloud suppliers were standout business successes in this most uncommon of years. As services all over handled to maintain the lights on by having employees work from their houses, every one of the major cloud service providers substantially grew their incomes as well as remained to deliver developments at a scorching speed.
Cloud computing provides centralized computing resources via the internet while edge computing distributes some computing capabilities to local endpoints. As technologies like IoT and 5G emerge, edge computing is growing in importance to support applications requiring low latency. Bram Verhoef, Head of Machine Learning at Axelera AI, presents the “How Axelera AI Uses Digital Compute-in-memory to Deliver Fast and Energy-efficient Computer Vision” tutorial at the May 2024 Embedded Vision Summit.
As artificial intelligence inference transitions from cloud environments to edge locations, computer vision applications achieve heightened responsiveness, reliability and privacy. This migration, however, introduces the challenge of operating within the stringent confines of resource constraints typical at the edge, including small form factors, low energy budgets and diminished memory and computational capacities. Axelera AI addresses these challenges through an innovative approach of performing digital computations within memory itself. This technique facilitates the realization of high-performance, energy-efficient and cost-effective computer vision capabilities at the thin and thick edge, extending the frontier of what is achievable with current technologies.
In this presentation, Verhoef unveils his company’s pioneering chip technology and demonstrates its capacity to deliver exceptional frames-per-second performance across a range of standard computer vision networks typical of applications in security, surveillance and the industrial sector. This shows that advanced computer vision can be accessible and efficient, even at the very edge of our technological ecosystem.
