This document discusses four approaches to educational planning: social demand, manpower requirement/planning, cost-benefit, and social justice.
The social demand approach forecasts demand for education based on population data but ignores costs, quality, and manpower needs. The manpower requirement approach links education to economic development but is difficult due to uncertainties.
The cost-benefit approach ensures benefits from educational investments but ignores non-economic benefits. It also fails to consider the long-term nature of returns.
Finally, the social justice approach aims to provide equitable access to disadvantaged communities but faces challenges in planning education at different levels given constraints.
Organizational change refers to alterations made to the structure, roles, technology, or other elements of an organization. It is a natural part of organizational life as organizations must adapt to remain competitive in a changing environment. There are many forces both internal and external that drive organizational change, including changes in technology, markets, social trends, workforce demographics, and competition. Effective organizational change involves establishing a need for change, developing a vision and strategy, communicating the vision, removing obstacles, and celebrating short-term wins.
The document discusses designing total rewards packages for employees. It explains that rewards packages should include an appropriate mix of financial and non-financial benefits tailored to each employee's needs and personality. For example, a sales employee may prefer a higher commission rate over a higher base salary. The document also discusses intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, noting that both can be effective if used properly but extrinsic rewards could decrease intrinsic motivation if overused. Specific ways to enhance motivation for Filipino employees are also provided, such as identifying employee needs, providing challenges for skill development, recognizing good performance, respecting cultural norms, and building relationships.
Culture consists of two basic components - ideas/symbols and artifacts. Ideas/symbols include values, beliefs, language and symbols that define a society. Artifacts include physical objects like tools, clothing and transportation.
The document then discusses key elements of culture - language, symbols, values, norms and beliefs. Norms can be formal (laws and mores) or informal (folkways and customs). Cultures determine many aspects of life from food and clothing to good/bad. Culture shapes people's perception of reality and changes over time.

Server computing involves physical computers that provide services to client computers connected to them, allowing clients to access information and resources. Servers can be hardware or software and manage network resources and service requests from clients. Common types of servers include web servers, application servers, real-time communication servers, FTP servers, name servers, database servers, game servers, media servers, and proxy servers. Servers are optimized for 24/7 operation, support multiple users and applications, and have features like multiple processors, RAM, storage, and network interfaces that make them more powerful than standard workstations.
How to Fix the Import Error in the Odoo 17Celine George
An import error occurs when a program fails to import a module or library, disrupting its execution. Resolving import errors is crucial for maintaining smooth software operation and uninterrupted development processes.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
