• 1847- Study of Thomas Paine's book- Rights
of Man. (School Age)
• 1848- Humiliation at the marriage
procession of upper caste friend.
• 1848-Started a school for girls of Shudras &
Atee Shudras/ Mahar & Mangs.
• 1851-Established schools for girls at Rasta
Peth & Chiplunkar House (Wada).
• 1852-The Government Education
Department felicitated Jotirao Phule
(under the chairmanship of Major Candy)
for his educational work.

part- time teacher.

• 1856-An unsuccessful attempt to kill
Jotirao, by two persons who were hired for
