2. By looking at the primary evidence of different
magazines I have performed inductive research
and discovered successful magazines have fonts
and colour schemes that represent the chosen
genre of the magazine.
This magazine is
aimed at teenage
girls so represents
the stereotype by
using pink as the
main colour and
contains cover lines
that the chosen
audience would be
interested in to lure
them in to buying
the product.
This school magazine
has a neutral
background and is
basic and formal
which would imply it
is aimed at parents
and is a magazine
with the purpose to
inform and promote
what the school
is doing, not a
magazine aimed at
students as it is too
formal and wouldn’t
appeal to the age
group successfully.
3.
The magazine would have all the successful conventions such as
a selling line and lures, which would show what the magazine
contains for example in a form of quotes from stories making the
prospective audience want to read more.
The Masthead should be bold and be the most eye catching text
on the page like the following magazines:

exclusive and factual, making
people want to read the review.

5.
For the cover to be successful the main
image should be taken correctly using the
rule of thirds.

Secondary evidence can tell us things
about how magazines sell and why people
buy them, such as this data showing the
percentage of people who read magazines
